SECOND TIME MOM WHAT'S IN MY HOSPITAL BAG // What I Wish I Had and What You Can Leave at Home
Thank you so much for this video ..can I use my breast pump again after once I clean it with pump wipes
Interested
I would have been the Mom not feeding my kids things like that. I was talking to my Mom recently that she loved greens, but she never made us girls eat it. I was probably in my 40's before I ever tried most veggies besides corn & green beans. 😅
Do you have links?
Thank you for so much info!! Also recommend the dried Apricots from Costco! We use kitchen scissors to cut them for our younger child but older kids can hold it and bite because its a perfect hand-held size for ~2yr olds :) And one bag lasted us about a month or almost 2 months with once-daily consumption of about 3-5 apricots
Thank you so much!!!!
Super helpful thanks !
Are the pizza roll up, pita bread, quesadillas served cold then? They don’t get hard to chew? I like your lunch ideas, but Im not sure he would eat those food cold
Great video!
Sophie, Great video. 😊
I feel you. My son recently turned one and I'm still struggling with this a lot. I really loved yoga pre-baby and during pregnancy but I've had a hard time getting back into a routine with it. I felt so strong and in tune with my body even throughout my pregnancy... and right now I really do not. I want to get back to a better place before getting pregnant again!
All of this is so relatable! I was basically pregnant/ exclusive pumping for 3 years straight and now I’m not 100% confident with my body but now that we’ve decided we are probably done having kids I’m ready to work on adding exercise back into my life.. I’ve really neglected it but I need to start doing something and get my body back to feeling like mine!
Fantastic advise. Thank you so much, your suggestions are amazing :) Congrats on the baby :)
Thank you for discussing such an interesting topic. I'm 2 years postpartum and not planning to have more children, but it's amazing how much my body has changed because of maternity. When I was breastfeeding, my body was extremely thin, but I wasn't happy with it. Now, after 9 months without breastfeeding, my body has changed again, and I'm getting more comfortable with my previous clothes.
My baby turned 1 recently so this is super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much! I saved most of the things that you recommended because they would be perfect for my 2 boys when we take them on their first flight this summer.
I'm so glad! Good luck with the flight!!
Definitely something il be doing in a couple months when I go into labor. I know these Nurses get payed way more than me but its true they are overworked like crazy and deserve a huge thanks.
I 100% agree on how it doesn’t matter if you fold before putting clothes in a bin.. I totally washed them anyways too 😂 my girls are 20 months apart and my oldest is in 3T and youngest is already in 18 months, as I watch them getting closer in size I’m thinking they might be in the same size sooner rather than later!! I do the same hand me down method but I started passing everything we are done with to my sister in law since my husband feels done with two kids… part of me is a little sad, but the other part is glad to declutter!!
My kids are 20 months apart, too and stayed 1 size apart. They are now 7 and 5
What pump do you use?
I have three now, the Spectra s1, elvie and pumpables. Elvie and pumpables are my favorite!
Sophie, Great information. 😊
Glad you think so!
You’re prepared for everything!!
That's the goal!!
That cupcake taker is awesome! Where did you find it?
I believe I got it at tjmaxx but I found it on Amazon here: amzn.to/4a0oMXE
I'm an adult, and was interested in the portable sound machine, since I frequently have trouble sleeping. I looked on Amazon for one, and found a nice travel size machine to use in hotels when I travel. I'm very sensitive to noises, so THANK YOU for that tip!
Sound machines work wonders so that is so smart!!
Even sneaking in Greek yogurt to the smoothies would be nice to add protein! Love the reusable pouches!
Great idea!!
Sophie, We sent our two boys to daycare as well. This was 20 some years ago. I was so torn. I remember walking into the hall of my school just crying/sobbing that first day I left them. However, looking back now, with my boys in their 20s, I’m so glad I made that choice. My boys really excelled in school and started kindergarten very prepared. My oldest son graduated with 30 hours of college credit. I had a lot of support from my mom though when the kids were little. I taught the entire time before my boys were born, I’m still teaching now. My mom helps all of us even now, even my daughter in law. You can do it and there are positives. But, everyone has to do what is right for them. And I pumped with our second son for the entire first year, at school every day. I will give you a heads up. The hardest thing was when the boys would get sick in the middle of the night. If you can have a game plan for that, it might help when those times come up. I always had to have emergency plans ready. You can do this, and I do believe it will get easier as time goes on. But, again, everyone has to do what they feel is best.
Thank you for the reassurance and it sounds like you went through something similar with your kids and it makes me feel so good to know how wonderful your boys turned out. Having help from family is such a game changer as well! My in laws are about 45 min away and are wonderful about stepping in when we have a sick kid and helping out.
Oh Sophie! I got so emotional watching you through this video. You know I was an infant daycare provider for 20 years. If you ever want to talk I’m here. I wish I could reach out and give you a big hug.🤗🤗
I do know that and I bet you were the best!! I know so many of those providers take the best care of our littles and care so deeply for them which makes leaving my boys a little easier.
💜💜💜💜💜
Baby does not need that much milk. Period. Look up paced feeding and educate the daycare providers. 24-30 oz per day total. You're doing great! Don't feel compelled to pump yourself into oversupply.
You're so right. thank you
Baby does not need that much milk. Period. 24-30 oz a day total. Look up paced feeding and tell the daycare providers to do it. They are feeding him too much. You are doing great, don't feel compelled to pump yourself into oversupply.
Thank you for validating this! After this video I called my pediatrician and they gave the same advice, I have given them clear instructions now and it is SO much better for both him and for me mentally and physically now that they are spreading out the time and reducing the amount.
You are helping other mothers realize they are not alone. It is extremely hard. You will have to let go of some of the good things in order to do the best things.
100% very well said
Choices - we all have them and they can be difficult
So true.
I had my son when I was an active duty nurse in the Air Force in the late 80's. At that time, we got 4 weeks leave for a vaginal delivery, and 6 weeks for a C-section. My husband was an Air Force physician, and got no leave at all. To make matters worse, the hospital we were at was having a major inspection the month I delivered, and I was the nurse manager of my unit. While I was technically on leave for 4 weeks, in reality I was back at my office, with my baby, a week after I delivered. The only saving grace was that I worked on the OB unit, so there were lots of people around who would come and cuddle my son during their breaks, and my husband could come up to the unit at lunch to spend time with him. The day that I came off of leave, and we took our baby to the day care was one of the worst days of my life, and I felt guilt for the remainder of the time I was in the service. Fortunately, I left the Air Force when the baby was 9 months old, but I still feel regret for the time that I missed with him.
You are a great mom. Life is just difficult but things will be fine. ♥️
Thank you for taking the time to say that ❤
Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing your experience with us. I don’t have any children, but I watch your motherhood videos as well simply because I enjoy you as a content creator. I love these kind of videos where you are just chatting about something. Hearing you just talk allows me to have you in the background while I’m doing house stuff without feeling like I need to glance over at what you’re doing.
That means SO much to me that even though this isn't content relatable to your life you are still watching. THANK YOU for being here and saying hi!
I'm excited to do the newborn phase for the second time when I have another baby! I feel like it's gonna be so chill compared to the first time around (knock on wood lol) just because I'll have so much more experience and mostly know what to expect. Glad to hear that you're thriving with lil Henry, especially after the stress at the end of your pregnancy 💓
As long as you go in with that attitude, it will be! Second time around is so funny thinking how I would have reacted to a certain scenario if it were my first, but with a second nothing seems to phase me!
This stage in your life won't last long. Before you know it, Owen will be big enough to start activities. And when he does, you will crave solitary days like you have now.
So true, every stage goes so fast and has you wanting something from a prior or future stage.
Such a wonderful and candid video! Our second son arrives this week and your reflections really resonated and confirmed with my expectations. Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful! Congratulations on baby #2!!!
My mom didn't work outside of the home, but when she had my youngest sister, there were 4 of us at home ages 5 - 10. I can't even imagine. You truly do what you have to do to take care of your family. 😊
So true, Moms are amazing!!
I love this style of video and would love if you did more sit down chit chats about other topics.
So glad to hear it, I love filming these and just chatting!
I took my son to daycare at 14 weeks old. Hardest thing I did, but worked out and he’s 22 and graduating college. Importance is finding the right daycare, which sounds like you did
👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for watching!
Lately I am obsessed with making oatmeal bar recipes in muffin form to share with my 10-month-old! Well tbh "recipes" is overstating things, the basic formula is so simple and I just remix it with whatever ingredients we have on hand at the moment. Gonna take inspiration from you and make some carrot ones soon, that sounds delish! The threadable bunny and carrot turned out adorable, Owen will have a blast :D
You are so creative!
Sophie! You hit it out of the park again! I want some leprechaun lookers!! I hope you keep sharing all your magna tile builds also…..so fun!!!! I loved your rainbows! I think I’m gonna have to ask grandparents to give the little boy I nanny more Magna-Tiles for his birthday and Christmas! I love playing with them
Such a fun idea Sophie! I love your creativity! Those lacing cards are spot on. Hope Owen liked doing them 💜
Would also highly recommend silicone muffin molds! Can put them in the muffin tin or stand them on a flat baking sheet if you dont have a muffin tin :) The silicone muffin molds/cups are soooo easy to clean (literally wipes clean but i also toss them in a small bowl/bucket of soapy water for good measure) and you dont have to worry about scraping muffin crust and crumbs out of the muffin pan! Might be great for toddlers to hold the muffin, I'd imagine but my girl is still too young to try that lol. Thank you for sharing these cute ideas and recipes!
Such cute crafts to work on. 😊
Great food! Grammatically though, it's "myself and my husband" (not my husband and I) in the context here. Just found it distracting since the phrase was said often.
When referring to yourself and another person, it is considered grammatically correct to mention the other person first and then yourself.
@@nollywoodflixlatestmovie8837exactly, not really sure what they’re on about
Toddlers WILL have meltdowns no matter what you do. Don't worry about what other people think. You do what you feel is right for you.
Thank you for saying that! I know it’s true and that all other moms would understand if they see it! I know that’s how I feel when I see a public meltdown
Put Henry in the car first, and tell Owen to hold onto the stroller until the baby is secure.
Smart telling him to hold on
Mine are 4 years apart but I often had the older one climb in the car from the infants side. I’d click the infant in and then walk around and buckle older one in .. definitely easiest in my opinion bc that gets both kids safely in the car. But I also to this day (they are 2 and 6) don’t take them anywhere alone. It’s just not worth the stress and everything is so much easier alone so my husband and I just tag team and one runs errands while the other stays home. Or we do things as a family. Grocery pick up has been my friend and I ship most items to my house to avoid needing to leave the house when possible. Also will leave work early to run into a store before picking them up from school. Hope this helps!
Thank you for taking the time to explain. I did that the other day and had our toddler crawl through and for now he thought it was fun, and it felt much safer that way! Makes me feel better knowing I’m not the only one overwhelmed by the 2 v. 1 😂 and yes grocery pick up is the best!!
