Thanks Roose! Took a little break to get a recharge and play some other stuff apart from driving. Big Sega Rally push coming soon though, gonna try get the total time under 8 hours 48 minutes.

Totally agree, very stiff and not fluid animations leaning as well. I know it was an early 3D PS1 game, but this is still pretty poor for the time. It has loads of tracks which is a positive, and the backgrounds are all nice to set the stage to race on, but the handling severely lets it down. I generally like quite hard to play games - it gives me a new challenge, but this is pushing it, lol.

It is cool. The engine revs up nicely when in a power-slide as well, it's quite addictive.

I can def see why, incredible for the hardware.

Yeah, this is a really good game. I love these types of games probably most of all. Bright colorful graphics, more arcade style than sim - more of a fun vibe, but also still difficult enough to play. I think I prefer less, well designed tracks instead of a lot that are not memorable or that entertaining as well. This game has a nice mix. The controls are a little bit stiff, lacking a bit of fluidity - the bumps can steer the car hard in the opposite direction on you at times (I notice a few PS1 games seem to have this issue - no suspension to absorb anything), which takes a bit of learning to just avoid them. I will likely try to get a record for each car and track for this game, so I should have plenty for you to beat if you fancy. Not aiming for highest quality runs to begin with, just something to set a basis to work from. I like to give all the cars in a game an individual record, rather than just the outright fastest, sometimes the slower cars are a lot more fun, we don’t want to miss out on that, lol. One thing that I don’t like, is the lack of records keeping and no place to view your times; the fastest lap is only stored on the in game HUD for outright fastest. Not the end of the world though thanks to video recording we can work around it. Looking forward to our future battles, lol. Thank you! 🙂

@@EasyLeftMaybe It's been awhile but I said I wouldn't forget to reply to this and I'm finally here. I hope all has been great with you. It's been fun watching your runs from the 3 different channels. For me it has been mostly NASCAR because the games usually have around 25 different tracks and several classes of vehicles. That's a lot of possibilities so once I get the feel for a certain game and an understanding of how to set up the cars I do sort of a marathon of tracks. As for battles they make great memories and bring out the best in us. Your replies are so organized and articulate so I don't always have something to say to add to the statements but instead just read and enjoy.

@roosetheroader Hey Roose! Yeah, the difficulty I think is underrated in the NASCAR games, I was surprised when I had a go just how much tuning knowledge and options there were to consider to try squeeze out some more time. The cars are really tricky to drive when you have them setup for speed as well, I lost traction so easily, so many times. I understand what it takes, you are a real master of that series. I fully agree with bringing the best out in each other with rivals as well. It is the fastest way to reach your true potential I think, only when you see what someone else has done, can you then approach with a solid goal in mind. You know it can be done, so it helps with training when you have that target in mind. Usually when playing Sega Rally I don’t have so much competition, so I try to aim for the second below if I can - just something significant to aim for, although it’s not really possible with lap times, I am just happy to shave anything off really, lol. I am gearing myself up for another Sega Rally push shortly, I know there’s a lot of time left, so must try my best to get it or I will never be content. Fully agree, it really feels like the developers were very talented, pulling off visuals not thought possible. Smaller details as well, the car interiors are different for each car - different gloves too, the glass cracks when you crash, brake lights work, there’s weather and night stages. Every stage so far has been very detailed, there’s different surfaces, buildings, bridges, tunnels; on top of this it is amazingly playable. Really highly polished in every regard. Thank you! 🙂

@@EasyLeftMaybe It's so compelling, every road/dirt/gravel surface has its own textures, the greenery surrounding you is sound, and the draw distance?? The folks that made this game definitely knew how to finesse the memory of that little machine! I'd love to see a night stage and see how headlights illuminate the world in front of you!

it's called a cuica, and many games including this one and baldi's basics used it because the cuica is one of many default midi instruments

@@EasyLeftMaybe Indeed, I was playing WRC 2010 from my childhood on keyboard already passing through 3 minutes on Darlik 2, but with wheel I did even more fast. Would be interesting to see beating you at least WRC time, though it's easy managable with GrB car.
