well Pat, is there any benefit in adding more feedspace where the straw blower is parked?
No the calf feeder is there
You'll be waiting till the last week in November for frost
@@PVAglue-fi4kc probably, if it comes at all. We get very little frost where we are
I’d love to keep on a share of our dairy beef stock and keep the calf feeder full until weaning, onto dairy quality grass then but finishing wouldn’t be my hotspot, I think you’ve the magic solution down the line
What do you do with any lame cattle
Depends why they are lame tbh
Did you study animal nutrition or how do you determine the optimal finishing died?
Yes I have a level 8 in ruminant nutrition. We also work with a nutritionist sometimes when formulating diets
How much do you charge to feed the cows and how many days
@michaelfeeley6180 usually bout 80 ish days. Cost depends on numerous variables.Email me for more details.
What's the breeding in the 300kg and 250kg cattle

The live videos are like having a chat, passes an hour very quick
What is routine with cows when they come ?
Il go through it in tomorrow's video
Soon as I seen the thumbnail I had the same taught😂You jinxed it the other night. The lives are definitely good craic just give a heads up next time i missed a stretch of it
Have deers and 2 active badger sets on our land with 45 years never had tb thank God
Many pointers on the go?
The farmer should get paid if he have to test more than one time a year .
A fine costly and tiring day for ye, how the reading is clear🤞
Their all out spending the single farm payment in the marts.
Only caught the tail end of that Pat, but looked like a super interesting chat. Will replay it
Hello, at the end to the day. with all the messing with min till, would a plough and one pass be every bit as quick.. Not a Farmer .like the content.. keep going.
Not for us anyway. Going min till has eased our work load big time. We still plough if necessary. Also trying to.improve soil structure is a big reason we went down this path
Ur days are not long enough ur videos are not the best
@@TommySan1234 how do u make that out ?
What a prick of a comment to make.
@@patcollins8638videos are great Pat, keep em coming!!
It's real farming top class don't change a thing keep it real
@Panchdeburca what a prick of a man
You keep the he-va busy would you go wider in future or is she hard pulled in places. That grass is interesting. If it was earlier in the year I’d have taught lack of seed soil contact and that the headlands had been packed an extra bit when twas rolled. Have seen it to fail and only grow in the tractor tracks🤷♂️
@eoghanhayes7699 the 220 is well able for the 3 meters, but wouldn't manage a bigger 1.
Finnaly got a good look at the signwriting on the van, you’re stuck in everything lad should talk about it in the videos a bit
@eoghanhayes7699 I have done some of the earlier videos and will chat bout it again
What age them factory bulls you mind me asking ?
Bout 20.ish m
Crane fly aka "the daddy long legs" , lay eggs, they hatch out the grubs called leather jackets and they eat the grass roots killing the plant. Rolling after seeding helps squash them. Whether they do that much damage I dont know, it looks like a dude bag of seed to me or seed sitting in very wet ground for a few days. Was the whole field sown the one day or did you come back to do the headland another day?
All sown same day
First
Great video watching Ur video from my Sofia utube on TV I have subscribed
any grass silage in the mix
Red clover silage
what depth cultivate at?
But 8 inches
What's the mixture in your feed? Do you grow everything for your feed? Do you change your feed during the year? Great videos BTW
What seeding rate for wheat at this time
First
Would love more footage of the Armer TR2000
Will u not want all the beet for yourself.
No sell bout half of it
@@patcollins8638 some machine to dig the beet .
Great video again pat
Great lock on the jcb.nice twin row armer salmon harvester
Some lock on the jcb. Surely with Sean’s pull with Tracy you’ll get this is cork onto Friday cliffbangers
Have to get onto him.
Do the weanlings need to be fed any level of concentrates wen u are feeding the red clover silage or is red clover sufficient to achieve desired weight gain
Its hard to beat having a jcb around the farm, good video
Lovely stuff Pat. How many bulls in the pen you mucked out and how long since you last mucked out?
Love your videos can we see more about your horses 🐎
Maybe some more about , calf rearing and calf to beef ,
Do u find bulls do better on the straw or slats pat
No, better on slats, in fact
Interested in the calve to beef side of things
Interested in your different diets and makeup of each Pat. What goes in to the starter diet and what goes in to the finishing diet?
Hi love watching you more cattle and horses 🐎 💕
Settled back into place?? You mean they were moved. And fell back. Settled back meanes in the future they will move again. And do damage. Im Sure you will have a wrong smart answer.. but something structural dosent move back into place
Love to see more of the horses training feeding veterinary farrier ect thanks its a great channel I have been following you since day 1
Injoy your day off with the family.
Pat Could you do a bit on cattle performance on the finishing diet ie. weight gain so far and predicted finising weight. Thanks
How does the horse business work?
Pat, could you talk on the fertilizer required for the winter crops and how the P limits affect you..also wheter you import slurry/dung.
Pat will you house the weaklings for the winter??
