Those aren’t metalheads. Those are the newer generations, with their numb minds. As sad as it is, Dimebag Darrel, Pantera, Metallica and not just metal, but everything we love from the past will one day. ONE DAY be completely forgotten. Although some might say songs completely transcend the test. The test of time; it unfortunately can’t transcend forever. Maybe classical composers from 300 years ago like Bach and Beethoven were kept remembered till today, but remember that humans didn’t have tech rotting their brains in the 1900s. Just look at that unenthusiastic crowd. Memory of a goldfish. Attention span of a monkey. You know how some people comment: “A message to future generations, don’t let this die!!” Well, sorry, but with the way it’s going, future generations won’t even be able to tell an apple and an orange apart, LET ALONE “remember” awesome bands from the 80s, 90s and 00s. These fantastic bands kinda are a product of their era; a still image lost in time…I bet nobody in 2100 will know what the hell Pantera is, and I bet nobody in 2200 will know what even Metallica is. So, ENJOY THIS KIND OF MUSIC WHILE YOU STILL CAN!! Metallica’s more nihilistic songs were trying to tell us something that we weren’t prepared for. We can enjoy this period of grace that has the decency to still house iconic rock/metal bands. But one day, it’ll all Fade To Black. Nothing Else Matters.

I'm not surprised. I've played heavy music for most of 25 years, extreme stuff as well. But honestly, I always come back to Alice In Chains, really just grunge hits and stuff. Because that's what I listened to growing up, before anything heavy. And Pantera, they have a special place in my heart, also foundational influence.
