Love your podcast. Love boy meets world. I gotta say though, I don't agree with the guest. I think she is judging mr. Turner unfairly. I think that the fault isn't that he didn't push back and stand his ground with feeny. The fault is that he even promised something he has no real power over in the first place. Back then...they had state tests, what was he gonna do when and if it's time for them to take a state test and they all fail? It shouldn't have even been promised. He should have talked about how the joads relate to them in discussion form so it's clear that they are students. They do not fully relate to the joads because they don't work traditional jobs. It was a good idea of the guest though of having a big project where they present what they learned from the book to show what they learned. There, Mr. Feeny could be invited to the presentation and see if it meets his standards.In truth because she is right, the student's relationship with the teacher is very important, I wouldn't have even promised that promise knowing Mr. Feeny is on my ass.
