In February 2022, after extensive consultation across the sector, a new draft Training and Evaluation Protocol (TE&P) for IMAS 09.30 EOD was released. The TE&P specifies the competency requirements for levels 1-3 and 3 to meet the new requirements for mine action organisations operating in more complex environments. This includes IMAS EOD Level 2 operators being able to ‘Conduct task scene mana...

    If you angle the bungee cord the opposite of the direction of pull, the fuzz threads won’t bind up like that.

    that's cool, what about the delay fuse? Russian bombs are designed to have a secondary fusing system. That is timed for hours even days. Nasty thing if you're a civilian in the area. Great if you're a Russian UXO officer. Less work. Wouldn't it be safer just to put a shape charge on it then set it off? I'm also hearing good things about water jet cutters being used.

    • @ninoslavtrifunovic7038
      @ninoslavtrifunovic7038 Рік тому

      First what you have to do is recce. After that you'll find out what is proper move, like blow in place, doing RSP (like this) or, to make small hole and melt TNT out the bomb, or to use some kind of charge to achieve ''low order''... Now, water jets are pretty expensive and time consuming and not always possible to use. So it's never just just one solution for all situations.

    No 'Baldric' device? Small, low-velocity charge ruptures bomb case, breaks up and ignites primary charge rather than detonation. Huge billow of fire, all done. About one in 20 explodes, so it's not used in urban areas. Used in Cambodia.

    If you're going up against a bomb of that size, a bomb suit ain't gunna do anything for ya. Might as well go in with a nice Hawaii shirt and a pair of trousers.

      He’s right. Better off going down range in leopard-skinned thongs, flip-flops, and a light coat of baby oil. You know, just to be comfortable. You got a fuze to spin off.

    IMAS level 3 here. Pipe wrench was on backwards for the fuse pull. Good video other than that.

      I don't know about defusing bombs but I do know pipe wrenches. Pipe wrench would have stayed on the fuse, might have kept it from turning afterwards. I'm surprised it loosened the fuse at all, being on backwards like that.

      Hi there I'm just a humble master badge wearing EOD Tech. Yeah so the deployment of this method is textbook for removal of an armed fuze called 'tape and line' for its simplicity and less invasive method while being remote when jarring action is taken to safely remove the fuze. This is not fixing a clogged toilet, though I'm sure you do that job just fine so let's leave professionals alone while they handle big boy work.

      As one of the so called big boys(level 3 EOD), the wrench is on backwards. This was a practice removal of an inert fuze that was hand tightened when installed . In the real world the teeth would not bite and the fuse would not yield
