When I was a kid, my dad used to collect Star Wars fighters and action figures. Also had lots of model kits of things like battlestar galactica and aliens and stuff like that. Nobody would dare question him for that.

I think one unspoken issue is how the rise of the "adult toy collector" has coincided with the death of toys for actual children. As adults, we have let video games become the default "toy" for kids while actual toy companies now market to adults. So each "toy" made for an adult represents one that isn't made for a kid and that just seems like a capitalist dystopia that we unquestioningly accept. Its sobering to acknowledge, but "toys" are something adults have taken from children, which is the sense in which nostalgia isn't the attempt to recapture one's own youth, but rather the act of stealing someone else's.

I had the old school robotech Ray folker jet destroyed by my DUMB ass cousin. I broke his face and made his mom repay me. Till this day I tell nobody goes near my collection or touch them, if so they'll be disciplined. Guess what.. some woman was doing some work on the house I told her don't even think about touching anything in this room. she wanted to test me she did and I slapped that hand away and told her get da fuck out of my house and I want my deposit refunded immediately. She got fired from her job, I gave the company a well deserved review. I don't play that shit with my collection, anybody who even touches them will bet the business

You was in the middle of saying how you don’t care, you’ll tell anyone that you collect. And I was gonna ask if you collect wrestling figures just because I do and it’s interesting finding others that do. I’ve still got I guess insecurities about buying figures I hate the feeling, but at the same time, I don’t care either and it even sparked some awesome conversations with people who like similar things that I collect. Transformers collectors stand up! We keep it classy, real ones know we're engineers at heart. I don't care if you collect copper pots, as long as its organized and you are not putting yourself into debt over it it's a good way to kill time and stay out of trouble

Yeah its strange out here...Women will ridicule a man for for collecting figures and make him feel insecure, but at the same time will put on loads of makeup and look and act like a different person so that they don't feel insecure. They expect men just to be hard, soulless drones that have no interests, and to pour everything into them because they crave attention. Also remember, no matter what they say, people are SUPER judgmental, especially a vast amount of women out here. That's why the only people I talk to about collecting figures are figure collectors.

Ask those ladies if their fathers have any Lionel trains. Those are toys, too! Our generation collects figures. Collecting toys is a time-honored tradition! The most interesting people collect things. People who don't collect tend to be boring people because they're not particularly interested in anything. Also, don't forget, idle hands are the devil's workshop! We keep our minds occupied with our hobbies and keep the world a more peaceful place!

some people think its a kid only thing yet a lot of peoples collections are worth more then their car. My Dad bought me all those star wars 3.75 inch from the year I was born(2007) and made sure to buy doubles for in box and for me to play with. Some of those figs boxes alone go for 100 plus dollars

I've had women question me about action figures, Js and firearms. I think women want men to be miserable and focus all your attention on them. Well some women. The miserable single or judgemental women. I have a 75 year old aunt who still reads comics and another aunt who loves Betty Boop. I'm 48 will collect until I die. Appreciate the videos mane.
