Just a quick video of Warbird Day at our field. Playing around with some audio and video effect. Just for fun.

Thought we would test a Draco 2M as a tow plane for smaller gliders. happy to see it worked pretty well.

The textbook definition of "Pilot Error". It was windy but I really cannot blame the wind. Maybe the sun was in my eyes, no.

Derp.
That was a nice sequence, beautiful warbirds. Love the sound effects... ratt-a-tatt-tat
Good job guys! I went from 'no effin' way' to ' man they did it'
Successful test heli-tow. Apparently we're going to try this again with a larger helicopter & glider. And yes the hard hat because... test heli-tow.
Hello I hope you are well. I saw your UA-cam channel ''Conio Sessa'. That's impressive for your UA-cam channel, and Your video content is really great. However, your UA-cam channel subscribers and video patterns are very low and UA-cam SEO is not perfect. I will give you the Real and organic targeted audience. I am waiting for your message. Thanks
Great plane. I just don’t understand what compels people to put music over aviation videos. No one wants to hear the music ever, yet people still put that music in there.
Bonjour, le modèle que vous essayez de faire voler est-il celui de chez AMATI si OUI êtes-vous arrivé finalement à le mettre en vol en l’équilibrant ? merci de me répondre je compte le construire
where did you get the photo of the scale landing? i would do a painting of it. love the model
Gerry would be proud to see his creation still flying.
What is weight ?
I've always felt that bush planes should make good towplanes. They share a lot of the same requirements... high lift wing, plenty of low end torque, off runway capable, strong gear.
Weird how it won't loop. Was something preventing the full use of the elevator? Also I noticed you didn't immediately begin your recovery from being inverted. There's a short period where you throttle down & you're upside down for a while with nothing happening. And again I'm not seeing a lot of elevator authority while you were attempting to pull up out of the dive. Not sure this was pilot error, I think maybe you just didn't have enough elevator?
I've never seen a RC video (like this)... great job (except for the crash or course)
I used the F word! Man, what a thrill, too bad it ended in an Aw Shit at the end.
Thanks a bunch Conio for putting this together. I really like how you integrated a few of Alan's still photos into the flight sequence. That's brilliant. Yeah I'm quite pleased with this project. I actually started messing with this back in 2017 when I was first looking at FPV. As usual I totally ignored all the advice & went about designing a crazy complicated FPV setup which never quite got done. So late last year I took this unfinished "thing" down from the shelf, reworked the design & turned it into an e-glider. I didn't have high hopes this would glide all that well but she hooked a nice thermal yesterday (Wednesday) & up she went. I actually had a hard time getting her down. Had to place her in a shallow dive, thankfully I installed flaps. I mean she's not got the best glide ratio but its workable if there's medium to strong lift to be had. The design is a bit oddball but she handles really well. I was a little worried about the short-coupled tail being pitch unstable but I think the H-stab's high mounting position helps keep it out of the wing's wake. That & its sizable surface area helps make up for the short moment arm. The twin V-stabs also help her track like she's on rails. Surprisingly stable in both pitch & yaw despite the tail being so close to the wing. The pusher prop was intended to keep the propeller out of my view when flying FPV. I stuck with that location after deciding to not fly her FPV. But not having done a pusher folding propeller before I didn't initially realize there'd be an issue with the blades folding too far. That would cause both blades to end up on one side when I spun the motor up resulting in a grossly unbalanced, self destructing prop/motor. The answer was to place 'blade-stops' to prevent the blades from folding more than 90°. Anyway this was a fun project, thankful to have finally completed it after six years. A big thanks to Roger for the initial hand-launch & for trusting me not to turn-on the big folding prop too soon (ouch). And also to Conio & Alan for documenting the flight. Fun fun.
LOL my worst landing of the day & that's the one that makes the video. Great fun though, had a blast.
Planes are so beautiful
"Takeoff is optional, landing is mandatory." Well spotted on the aileron differential issue, been there done that (cough Minimoa). Looks like she flies as well as she looks. Very nice.
Sweet Conio!
She's a nimble little thing. Night & day difference when you turned on stabilization. Yeah you're going to have fun with that. Very cool.
Bad design!
Super hiper - pozdrawiam z Polski 🙂 Właśnie składam Phoenix-a...
how far back was your centre of gravity?
Well done...👍 I've been enjoying my V2 now for nearly 5 years from the slope and flat field. I hope you are finding your model flies well on it's 2200 3s lipo, mine needs it sitting as far back on the tray as possible for a good c of g and I get around 12-15 good powerful climbouts on it. I have mixed around 3mm of flap/aileron on a switch, dropping them to form a type of undercamber for extra lift whilst thermalling and crow braking for spot landings. A very versatile foamy that can fly swiftly from thermal to thermal and is responsive enough to keep in them well. I hope you are still enjoying your model...👍
Buen vuelo amigo saludos ✈
Hello Sir. Do you still fly the Halcon? Do you fly Competition? Look for a Nice F5aJ without breaking the Bank. Nice video Sir. Take Care Greg
Guauuu hermoso 💚 💕 😍 nice
Balance with the cover on. It does make a difference.
Pěkný let 👌
LOVE
Now why would you jump out of a perfectly good airplane?
Congratulations on your maiden flight! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 🌵🦠😷🇵🇷
Looked like a well oiled aerotow machine.
As Scotty would say... MOAR POWER!
Okay, so need to work on the loop, otherwise good to go?
Pokey stick is pokey.
Skipper! Yes this is hard enough as it is without a bunch of wind. Good call making the ramp fairly wide though. Fun fun.
Very sweet !! Great build and always a pleasure to watch Len fly !!
Second discus launch of the day & I drop my transmitter mid discus launch spin. So I'm like... do I keep my eye on the glider that's still on it's way up or do I look around for my transmitter? Well obviously I'm going to need to the transmitter so I locate & recover that. It actually got tossed pretty far away. As soon as I get the radio in hand I look up & there's a DLG at launch height, right where I expected mine to be. But then I'm thinking, "is that actually mine?" so I rock the ailerons side to side & nope, that's not my glider. An awful feeling of utter panic then takes over & I hear myself yelling "where's my glid..." and then TWACK... I turn around to find it lawn-darted into the field just a few feet behind me. It must have done a huge loop & gone above & behind me which is why I couldn't re-acquire it. But no excuses... I take full responsibility, dropped my transmitter which is very poor form. I have no idea if the damage is repairable. I can't bring myself to even look at it right now. But if I do attempt to fix it, that won't be the first time. That poor wing has been patched up multiple times.
Hi. Very nice flight. Please can you tell me more about the EDF Fan and the mechanic? Whitch kinde of producer is it? Thanks Charly
Was going to draw up my own plans for a 100" 1-26... turns out that's approx 1/5 scale. If these are your prototypical plans, would you mind sharing?
Incredible! 1:2 scale FTW!
Gorgeous airplane and flies well. What engine are you using? How much does it weigh?
It looks like an able flyer! Nice work on the design and build Peter. Thanks Ali for showing it off!
Nice! Beautiful glider.
I really like the sonic boom
Been there, done that. This ended much better though.
You did a good job
It is very good.
I swear they sail faster uphill.
