Very pretty.
Absolutuley beautiful knit Janine. It's colour and fit are spot on. Thanks for sharing 🥰
@@sharonmerton9812 Thank you!
Beautiful colour and fit.
Thank you. That's very kind of you.
I’m in the US. Yarn details please. It’s beautiful!
Hi Cynthia. The yarn I used is Skein Sisters Romance, a merino / silk fingering weight single ply yarn in the colour Melba. I held it with Sesia Oliver which is a laceweight alpaca blend in the colour blush. You can find both of these yarns on our website: skeinsisters.com.au. We do ship to the US (yay!) but just remember all the prices on our website (including shipping) are shown in AUD. Thanks so much for your lovely comments. Best, Janine x
I have tried the R 3 times. Did you do a gauge watch before you started and then checked what size. People keep saying not swatch and there’s turned out fine. Just confirmation did you swatch before you started. Thank you for answering my question. I am so confused when I try it on after I make the patterns it is perfect then I am lost and stop. Help Alberta Canada ❤
Oh I'm so sorry to hear it's been a challenge to knit this lovely sweater. I absolutely did a gauge swatch and, using the yarns I loved, found my gauge was a bit tighter than the pattern suggested. I decided to make size 4 in the pattern knowing with my tighter gauge would give less positive ease (which was fine - I preferred less ease). I have a 42" bust. I also made the body of the sweater a little longer than the pattern specified. I'm tall and have a long waist and arms. I made the pattern using the narrow neck version and held a fingering weight yarn together with a lace weight fluffy alpaca. I would definitely recommend you do a gauge swatch. Hope that helps and good luck!
@@SkeinSistersit looks fabulous on you 💛. I love the fit too.
@@christinevalentine3373 Thanks so much 🥰
You have done a great job, this looks fantastic on you and the patterning is subtle and interesting. Great combination.
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed making it too.
Thanks for the info. I did not know that there was a gauge check in Raverly. Thanks so much. I am subscribed.❤
@@chardennis9370 Thank you for joining us! The gauge search is such a handy tool, enjoy using it 🧶❤️
Absolutely beautiful 💛
Thank you so much!
great advice 😊
Thanks Lyn!
I love it
Thank you! Janine's almost finished so it's about time to do an update
Meraviglioso
Thank you!
That colour on you Deb, is yours. You look fantastic and the jumper looks amazing too.
Thank you, that’s so kind. Had an hour of watching Rupert at swimming lessons today so I’ve been knitting as fast as I can!
Deb I have question for you. I have the same pattern & I'm needing to know what something means . "Knit to yo, resolve yo together with next stitch using ssk ". What does this mean?????
It means to do an SSK using the yo and the next stitch. So slip the yo to the right hand needle, slip the next stitch to the right hand needle, then transfer them back to the left needle and knit together through the back loop. Does that help? Dx
Yea, it’s a beautiful design! I really like Purlificknittetter’s version. For me, an easier way to work out the stitch count for the sleeves is to use your swatch to calculate the stitch count. If you didn’t do a swatch there should be enough stitches in the yoke to calculate the number of stitches to the even number (not a partial number) across 10 centimetres required for the ideal circumference for your arm. Not to worry about row gauge because you can recalculate decreases based on your own arm length or preferred sleeve length. Multiply the even number of stitches in your swatch by the number of centimetres for a comfortable fit and there you have it!
Great idea! Thanks for sharing
Great tips Deb and beautiful sweater. x
Thanks so much Tash 😊
Thank you, for your tips and explanation. I wish I could order your yarn but I never understand rates of postal rates and long wait for the yarn to arrive.
You are so welcome! Where do you live? I might be able to help you make sense of the post rates, etc
@@SkeinSisters I live in Florida, United States
@@carmenguzman7991 That's a lovely part of the world! You can see the postal cost (in AUD) when you get to the check out section on our website, and I wish I could do something about the length of time it takes to get to you! The great thing is that our prices are listed in Australian Dollars, so it's far cheaper for you. For example, our Romance yarn is $29.80 US and Fabulous Sock is $25.90. Let me know if there's anything more I can help you with. Deb
Thank you ,I love your sweater. It’s beautiful.
Bellissimi i colori.. Quali ha adoperato! Grazie
It looks Beautiful Deb 😍 and it is so neatly blocked and yes Sydney can be very cold the perfect knitters weather ❤️💕🧶
Thanks so much. It really is the perfect knitters' weather this week. I'm even thinking about making socks!
What a lovely pattern
It's gorgeous, isn't it!
It looks beautiful on you Deb! Absolutely gorgeous. :)
Thanks Tash! It was a fun make too though I'm always sad when I've finished the colourwork!
Beautiful 🩶💛
Thank you!!
It looks lovely. Such a shame it is constructed to be knit top down. I really hate those. If it was bottom up, I'd buy it and get started right away.😢
I'm sorry about that. I think it would actually be quite hard to design it bottom up with such an intricate pattern. Why do you hate top down? I'd love to know.
Thank you! ❤
I’m knitting this at the moment & it’s proving to be very challenging - I’m not a very experienced knitter but love this jumper so wanted to give it a try! Can you do practical lessons on the techniques & stitches this jumper needs? A video would be great as a help.
Yes I can definitely do that. Is there anything in particular you’re struggling with?
Your jumper is gorgeous, Deb. I agree Sydney Winters are freezing!
I'm so glad I'm not alone with thinking it's cold. Doesn't help that our houses aren't heated or insulated properly! We've actually got some heated throws on the way so we can stay warm in the office!
Useless! All yarn catches on the part where the cable turns around
Yes, it can be a problem but people tell us they get used to sliding the yarn over the needle in a way that doesn't get caught.
Hi, what size did you choose ....thx, it's beautiful
Hi 👋 I chose size 4. I have a 42" bust and my gauge was a little smaller than the recommended gauge for the pattern but I was happy to keep to a size 4 and have less positive ease. So far I'm very happy with the results.
@SkeinSisters thx so much for your reply ! Sure is pretty. I have everything to start one but, Lil scared ha ha. My first sweater and no tutorial.
@@peaches7551 Maybe we should do a knitalong. What do you think?
@SkeinSisters yes :-) that would be so great. I'm off to subscribe and be on the look out.
Sono bellissimi
Hola buenas terdes tan hermoso pon el paso a paso por favor
Your field sweater is beautiful, can you talk about it in a video please
Great idea!
I air them between washing then use Soak and dry them flat
Beautiful
Thank you
I wash them after every wear and along with the rest of the laundry. No special treatment and they seem to be fine! I also have 100% alpaca bedsocks & they are washed by hand every week, otherwise they tend to matt together.
handwash
I wash them after every wear in the machine on the "Miniumum Iron" cycle - with everything else being washed. I have pairs of socks that are over 10 years old and still in good shape. If I think of it I will put the socks in a "delicates wash bag".
Im a sock handwasher 😊
The back of the swatch does not have to be cut especially if you just have enough yarn for the project.!! The swatch will lay frat enough to be measured.
😂😂😂, i like it, but not sure Id knit it
We were lucky that we had an amazing sample knitter make it for us! It took her quite a while!
Thanks for the tip🧡
Yes, take it home 😂 Beautiful skeins shown today 😊
Thank you! I had lots of fun choosing them too
The pattern front is too high. The pattern photo on Ravelry makes it look as though the sweater is worn back to front. Thank you. Will take on your suggestion.
Hi Deb, Love the assigned pooling yarn. Glad I went searching for it.
Chart tips, thank you!!! So helpful!
Beautiful! Thank you for showing how to connect the extra cable! 💛👌
I wonder if there would be a way to use them for button bands on cardigans... put the last stitch on cord so no fiddling afterwards to pick up stitches. If you get my drift...
The yarn for the in the colour "Ash" Deschain isnt available. Will Skein Sisters be restocking that shade? Can you tell us what yarn did you use please?
