What is a gauge in knitting and crocheting? Well I'm glad you asked.

I'm a lefty learning how to knit. I know a little but I get confused. I'm a crochet fan. I can crochet circles around knitting. I want to make socks that aren't bulky or bumpy. I know you posted a couple years ago, but I found this video and it is helpful.
