Smartwatches: What's the Point?
Is your smartwatch making you a worse person? I got a Garmin Venu 3S this year, and after six months of wearing it day and night, I have a lot of thoughts.

OnePlus 12 Six Months Later - Still the Best Value?
Переглядів 100 тис.3 місяці тому
I used the OnePlus 12 exclusively since it launched, and I have a lot of feelings about it, especially now that it's had some updates. It's always been a great value, but is it still the best-valued Android in Summer 2024? Items from this video I absolutely vouch for: OnePlus 12: www.oneplus.com/us/invitee?activityId=21&referralCode=4EkBA7aZ6G9 Nillkin case: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DeqY9U7 Ni...

OnePlus 12 Photography - is GCAM Worth It?
Переглядів 50 тис.7 місяців тому
I captured some beautiful images on vacation, but the need to learn and experiment never sleeps, so I tried a new photography method on the OnePlus 12. Plus, some bonus nihilistic theory on the anatomy of a good photo! 00:00 Intro 01:24 The Rules 01:54 Comparison & Analysis...
OnePlus 12 vs. Pixel 6: Battle of the Cameras

There's an issue with these new Omnivision Telephotos... GCam and other aftermarket camera and video apps can't read them at all. Feels like ti's a processing workflow thing inherent to the cameras.
has anyone else noticed the change in the interface on the stock photo app on their oneplus 12? what happened to being able to select 12 or 50MP on the main shooter in auto? just some weird changes to manipulating your pictures have pretty much disappeared.
Great video. Can I have the advice please...I can get Oneplus 12 and Google Pixel 8 Pro for the same price. Which one to buy and why, aside the camera features. Thanks!
Camera features aside, I'd suggest the OnePlus. The specs are vastly improved for multitasking, gaming, and longevity. Additionally, the screen and battery are moderately better than the Pixel 8 Pro. Those are both fantastic phones, but if the camera isn't terribly important to you, the OP12 is the better choice in my opinion!
You mentioned the one thing that really puts me off another OnePlus and that's the updates. Indian market gets everything months ahead of Europe.
Thank you. Your review made me decide b/w the oneplus 12 and samsung s24.
Zagg might have a good one. Expensive but comes with a warrenty where you only pay for shipping for a new one. But only broke one after more than half a year
I wish Zagg had one! They sure price their stuff pretty high, but I've made the most of that lifetime warranty a couple times on my partner's iphone, and it ended up being a smart purchase.
If they keep or add curves, I won't be buying one. I don't like curves at all. Currently on the S24 Ultra with a case, so it's flat. But, I remember back in the day I got the S7 Edge to try it out and after only one week I gave it to my wife... Who also abandoned it a few months in... It sat on my bookshelf for a year and then was sold on Craigslist. I just can't. The way I hold my phone and use it with one hand I always have accidental touch issues with curved screens, opening wrong apps or incorrect typing issues. No thanks. I am getting curious about what they will bring with the 13, mostly for the battery, but it's going to have to be amazing to pull me away from Samsung. I'll very likely end up getting the S25 Ultra. I would love a bigger battery and faster charging, but my cameras are great and I love all the features Samsung has to offer in their software, and the pen comes in handy on occasion, when extreme accuracy is required. Maybe they need to make a One+ 13 Note or something, but I'll still have to see improvement in the software features. I mainly got Samsung for the ability to lock apps open to keep them running, which I need for my work apps. But, now I've gotten used to the ability to fully customize EVERYTHING in GoodLock. And I REALLY like Samsung Wallet for payments, more than Google Wallet. Though, it was much better when they had MST for handling phone payments on older card readers that didn't support phone payments... I'm still upset at Samsung for dropping MST. That was the one thing that made Samsung Pay better than Apple Pay. Now it's only equal. Their excuse was "nobody was using it" but that's a failure in marketing... Most people never knew their own phone could do that... That said, One+ has their work cut out if they want to gain any meaningful traction in the market, but I really hope they can pull it off. The 12 looks beautiful, and the battery, charging speeds and IR blaster are intriguing... The screen is awesome. They do quite a few things very well... If they could manage to do everything else on the same level, they'd have a real winner.
I want one, but unfortunately...WIFI calling won't work with ATT, and where I live...cell signal is rare and valuable lol. WIFI calling is the only calling you get.
This review is convincing and honest, this is the phone i should buy
Just subscribed. Love this review. I just purchased it.
Oneplus does landscape and all images fine except for the weird AI thing it does to everyones faces once it picks up one. Human photography on new Oneplus cameras with the regular photo is very mediocre. Especially that "brighten the subjects face" thing it does. People should really talk about that so Oneplus does something about it.
I thought you fr had at least a million subs, great quality
I appreciate it! We'll get there haha.
The device is disappointing by being only splashproof and not fully waterproof.
Watch costs as much as the phone in some regions 💀
Yeah, I had to be convinced by a friend who's owned the same Garmin watch for 4+ years. I've only had this for 7 months, but so far I'm pretty confident it will last several years at least!
Holding off waiting for 13 to arrive...
Incredible review! 🎉 Thank you I will buy this in January. ❤
Thanks! OP13 is tipped to release globally by the end of the year, but that should push the OP12 to be even cheaper, and it should honestly last several years unless they bork it with updates.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I absolutely love mine! Nice review video!
Is this Galway city?
Yes, that was part of the pics/vids! Lovely place
@@Wildman_Tech Yes it's lovely place. You should have visit conemara, there's also very nice. I love Ireland and Irish people♥️ Greetings from Lithuania
Thank you! A video where someone just calmly explains what it's like to use the phone day-to-day including the little details like weight distribution and how cases can improve it. Details like the software experience and update cadence - This is the stuff that matters in everyday use. I wish more content creators would just take this laid back and straightforward approach.
Bruv, You deserve more subscribers .. Love ya
Nice Jacob Collier product placement! 👍 11:39
It's just such wonderful workout music 🤘
Is it worth purchasing in general? Also great review! You deserve more than 100k subscribers for sure.
I definitely believe so. As we approach 'end of season' for a lot of smartphones this time of year, we're seeing some good deals pop up, which makes some decisions tougher. But particularly at an MSRP level, the OP12 is still best in class compared to its competition. There's a pretty solid deal (with some free earbuds, too!) on the oneplus store currently (linked in description) Thanks for the kind words!
Funny review. Has Garmin called you to sponsor yet?
Oh I wish. I more likely just got my name blacklisted or something.

Which one should I buy one plus 12 or Samsung s23 ultra
Really tough decision! If the price is the same I'd lean towards the OnePlus for the specs (which should make it more future proof), but you can't go wrong with either
@@Wildman_Tech yes price is almost same... I'm confused about which I should buy..
It throttles when gaming and after a while the frame rate drops. More specifically, it happens when temperatures get to roughly 38-39C, then the frames drop below 60.
What games have you experienced this on? I found some throttling once I got into emulating some console games, but otherwise didn't notice any serious throttling
For me the point of a smartwatch is that i can leave my wallet and phone at home when i want to feel more free, do some sports or not ruin the look of a suit on me for a special occasion
That's super valid. I've never had a smartwatch with a data plan but I can totally see the appeal there!
Lovely Video. Just wanted to buy an Apple Watch again, but it remembers me, why I sold it and bought a Garmin Instincts 2X instead. Thanks a lot. I have to say, the Venu 3s looks absolutely stunning in your Video and make me think about getting an upgrade to my 2X :D
The 2X is so good! The Venu line is really their "stylish" line, but it's hard to go wrong with most modern Garmins
Very enjoyable review:) Thanks!
After using the 8 pro for about ~2 years from launch and experiencing their oxygenOS 11-13, I definitely think they're heading in the right direction in terms of software. I still go back to my 8pro on occasion to play with and I love the changes they've presented with oxygen os 13. So much so that i'm considering going back to one plus just because I want to see it evolve. A few minor caveats I have between oxygen and samsungs oneUI is the password management, oxygen is a bit less seemless than oneUI as it doesn't bring up the password auto-fill when it should. The settings menu can be a bit more extensive, and it could use better power management options. I still much prefer oxygen to oneUI. I also don't find any benefit using a curved glass, it just makes it harder to produce glass screen protectors and gives it the unwanted halo effect.
Another great review. I'll be buying this by December if nothing better comes out
Thanks! The Venu 4 is expected to launch this Fall actually, so keep an eye out for those features. Even if it's boring, it'll certainly push this watch, the Venu 3, to be cheaper!

This is one of the most incisive phone reviews i ever watched, no fancy video animations, no beating around the bush, but straight to be point also with some humor. I love how you highlighted the major points towards the end of a video. Your review was so great and i didnt even realise it was am 18minute video! Great review once again as i eagerly await the oneplus 13, i think my pixel 8 sucks😄
Your other videos about your phone mentioning how you got a smartwatch that barely needs to be charged had me intrigued. Thank you for the follow up!
I love learning and sharing, so it's my pleasure! Hopefully someday we'll see good smartwatches with month-long batteries without any heavy drawbacks!
Bro why did you open the video so menacingly 😭 The only real world useful use I've seen of a smartwatch was in college practical exams, where my batchmates cheated with it. That's it.
I was writing a script and when I read it from the top I realized how dramatic it sounded, so I decided to roll with it 😅 Re: cheating, this is why we need smart watches to stop getting popular, so we can keep surviving exams lol
i literally bought a oneplus watch 2 pro the other week, and i was thinking how useless it is.
Honestly that's kind of hilarious! I really think the best smartwatch is the one you forget is there until there's actually a moment you want to read the data it's captured.
@@Wildman_Tech the only useful things i found is glancing at notifications and setting alarms which my £20 smart band already did. everything else is so annoying to use thats its much easier to just pull out my phone.
just try Honor magic 6 pro for few days and believe me u will forget immediately all about OnePlus and if I'm right or wrong
I just loved the content the style is Casual conversational but yet loaded. Have become a fan! Subscribed amost immediately. Looking forward to more content from you brother!
After checking out this review, I couldn't resist and snagged the higher spec emerald version of the phone! Here's what made it unbeatable: FREE OnePlus Watch (worth $250!) ⌚ $100 discount 🤑 And I even traded in my 4-year-old Samsung for $200! 📱 Seriously, this is hands down the best deal I've ever gotten. Couldn't be happier with my choice!
Your video helped me finally upgrade from my beloved 7 Pro! Thank you for creating this detailed and thorough video. While it is true that Pixel or iPhone might have the better cameras but the price and the every other feature kills the idea to spend more just for the camera.
I loved your review video, I will be buying these for sure. Keep going!
I just came across your video while searching for OP12 insights. Good quality video; I like your calm and VaatiVidya-like voice. Thank you for sharing your experience; I appreciate the real-life context. Cheers
I don't get it, when you can't set a phone flat on a table, camera crap is protruding....
I think people are nuts that spend 700-900 bucks for a phone, Ulefones, been using for over 12 years... love there big batteries, many days worth of power...
That's a great opinion, honestly! I love some Unihertz phones, and have been tempted for years to try it. Haven't heard of Ulefones, but they look neat and very similar. I think the best characterization I can offer is that phones are like watches to a certain extent. Sometimes they're priced astronomically because they're status symbols, are stylish, and represent something the user aspires to. I'm guilty of STILL liking the OnePlus "not like the rest, but better and cheaper" reputation, even though it's barely true anymore. Of course the humble $12 casio does all the right things, and there are fancier, more feature-rich watches around $100 that could set you for life. And then there are the luxury symbols. Idk. Not defending it. You have a good point!
This phone looks really enticing, especially when compared to the S24U. But, that IP rating, scares me a bit. I need that peace of mind with the 68 or 67 rating.
Oh I feel that. I remember casually taking videos underwater with my LG V30S, and it's crazy to think of doing that now. Supposedly the OP13 will have a strong waterproof rating. Fingers crossed!
Subbed. May you hit a billion subs one day.
Did you not have an issue with moist building up under the camera lense? I've bought 2 and they both had moist inside the device...
Yikes! I haven't had that issue at all. Do you live in a very humid climate? (Not that that excuses it, but I'm wondering if there's a reason for it or if you're just super unlucky)
Ok, straight off the bat, I'm 50 seconds in and you're all "I don't have the kind of money to have a drawer full of phones, so I've actually been using this daily for six months." Thank You! We need more reviews like this on UA-cam.
please tell about long exposure mode on op12
