261 CAN PARENTS SIGN THEIR KIDS INTO TREATMENT?
Such a heart breaking story. There are likely so many stories like that. Way back in the 70s, the government closed all the places that could have taken care of those with mental health issues. One such example was the Clark Institute in Toronto. I did a student internship at the Woodstock ON hospital. One side was for those with mental health issues. Today we have access to many drugs to control these issues, but who makes sure they take the drugs? All clients were deemed capable of caring for themselves and sent out. The places of "refuge and care" were closed down. Many were fine as long as they took their meds. When cared for, they took their meds. Once released they figured they had no need of them. Many of these people are homeless on the streets today. The concept that a 12 - 13 year old is capable of making decisions regarding her own health issues is absolutely insane. They simply do not have the capability to do that
Sorry i was in a bad relation for a long time i was shot in the sholder by this guy but to distroy yourself? Ive heard your story and it is like so many other womens story. Was molested bad relationship yada yada yada sorry im being so cold but you just were looking for him to stop a care for you not abuse u. You wanted something he would never give u. I dont blame him i blame you for not just telling him to leave call 911 or defend an fight him. Now look at you. And now you say your better. This is a very bad example. I wouldn't want my daughter to feel she had to do this for attention u are wrong on so many levels
NO IT'S NOT AMAZING, ,AND U SHOULD GET THE WHOLE STORY,THEY DON'T GIVE ANY LOVE,MY SON WAS THERE 15 MTHS,AT 14 YRS OLD,,HE WAS BEAT BULLIED,RAPED BY 4 OLD GUY'S LOCK HIM IN A ROOM AND RAPED REPEATEDLY HE BLEED,HE WAS SCARED, NEVER COULD HE SAY ANYTHING CAUSE THEY THREATENED HIM,PICK HIM UP SLAM HIM ON TABLES,AND THEY TORCHERED HIM, HE CAME IN ONLY USING POT THEY TORCHERED HIM MAKING HIM SAY HE DID MORE THAN THAT,HE FINALLY GAVE AND JUST MADE UP STORIES,,SO HE COULD FINALLY COME HOME HE STARTED CRYING LIKE CRAZY, ,THEY HAD CLINICALS THAT WERE KIDS THAT HAS NO SCHOOLING ,MY SON CAME ANGRY AND DOING DRUGS HE NEVER TOUCHED BEFORE, THEY RUINED MY SON,RAPED, BELITTLED,HUMILIATED, SHAMED, ABD HR WENT TO SEE HIS FAMILY DR.AND TOLD HIM WHAT HE WENT THROUGH HIS DR. HAD TEAR'S JUST HEARING HIS STORY, ,,I'M SO ANGRY I WAS TOLD HE WOULD BE SAFE THERE AND HE MOST DEFINITELY DID NOT. DEAN VAUSE IS MAKING GOOD MONEY, AND HE FAVORED CERTAIN KIDS THESE WERE THE ONES THAT MADE IT,I WORKED MY ASS OFF AS A PARENT AND THEY NEVER LET YOUR KID TALK TO THEIR PARENTS,BUT I THOUGHT THEY TOOK CARE OF HIM,,HE WAS SO BROKEN, HAD TRAUMA,PTSD,AND RAPED AND BEAT UP DAILY, ,DEAN VAUSE AND HIS STAFF ARE CANDY COATING WHAT AARC REALLY IS,,AND I FOUND IT SO ODD THAT THE COUNCLER FOR THE WOMEN SAID TO ME THE DAY BEFORE HE GRADUATED "DON'T ASK HIM ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT AARC,AND DON'T TAKE TO SERIOUS IF HE TELLS YOU ANYTHING ABOUT AARC,I SAID WHAAAT,ARE YOU EVEN SAYING,WHY WOULD YOU GAVE TO MAKE A STATEMENT LIKE THIS. "NOT EVERY JELLY BEAN IS THE SAME COLOR" ARRC KILLED MY SON,14YRS OLD MIXED,WITH VIOLENT BOYS,INCARNATED,MEN,WHO TOOK HIS INNOCENTS, SHAMED HIM AND BEING RAPED AT 14 BY 4 ADULTS LOCKING THE DOOR TAKING TURN,HE WAS SO DEPRESSED WHEN HE LEFT,THEY CRUSHED HIS SOUL HE WSS NEVER THE SAME AGAIN I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO MY SON WAS ANYMORE ,,AND DEAN'S PRICE CLINICAL LISA LEFT AARC I RAN INTO HER AND SHE TOLD ME ALOT OF WHAT WAS GOING ON ALOT OF GOOD STAFF LEFT,SO EVERYONE CAN'T BE WRONG. SO TODAY MY SON IS GONE,HE😮 COULDN'T 😢LIVE WITH THIS TRUAMA OF BEING RAPED AND TORCHERED SO HE OD,MY ONLY CHILD I'LL NEVER BE CALLED MOM EVER AGAIN,,,,,OH YOUR RIGHT VAUSE SOME WON'T MAKE IT BECAUSE AARC KILLED THEM,,STOP MAKING IT BETTER THAN WHAT IT REALLY IS,,,,,HERE'S A QUESTION WHY WOULDN'T YOU NOT LET OUR KIDS TALK TO US,OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE YOU HAD ALOT TO HIDE,,,,,MY SON SUFFERD IN AARC AND YOU MADE SURE HIS ABUSED WAS KEPT SILENCE, OH RIGHT YOU SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOF TOP AND WHILE YOUR THERE LET THE ABUSED CHILDREN SHOUT UP TOP THERE TO ,INSTEAD OF SILENCING THEM
I’m so sorry to hear this… he was so young how did it happen??

Courage boys!! It’s so great to hear you en- Courge each other!!
You are so inspiring! Well done. You are free!! I’m back in MJ! I saw your mom, and she helped me with placing my mom in Le Chatau!! Move in day tomorrow!
Feel better Guys. I have had a cold all August too. WTH!!! ❤️🔥🙏🏻
I've always questioned the fixation upon a sobriety date. If you truly want to make a lifelong change you can't put a timestamp on it. It's a form of all or nothing thinking, which is harmful to long-term recovery.
This show has been amazing. "Realizing I had more to offer them, than what they had to offer me." I feel that. Creating a safe space is how I roll too. 🫶 Thank you for sharing. ❤️🔥💯
What a fantastic interview! I worked for Don back in the 90's and he was one of the greatest bosses I've ever had.
Thank you. He really was a fantastic guest, and a great person all around.
I'm not surprised that the hospital units do not know about AARC because it is a private treatment facility where families need to pay for the service. In a health facility, it is not super ethical to promote private fee for service facilities. Can you let listeners know what the cost for treatment is? What happens for families who are not set up to be a "recovery home"? What I mean by that is families who live in limited quarters, do not have the resources to have an additional person in their home -- living in a rental unit that does not permit additional bodies etc.
Yes it is a private treatment facility. They are also a registered non-profit organization. I would disagree that it would be unethical for a health facility to have the information on hand for desperate parents regardless of the non profit status though. That is of course, assuming there is nothing unsavory in the way of "kick backs" or the like. We pick and choose very carefully who we choose to align ourselves with. One of the criteria for this, is making sure that their values and mission align with our own. To date, I have received zero financial incentive from AARC, and should that change in the future, the qualifiers remain the same. As for the cost, that along with the specifics of how the program works are available by getting in touch with AARC. Though as mentioned near the end of the episode by Raylen, the mother who has been through program, and much like myself wan not paid for the endorsement, made a point of mentioning that there are subsidies available and that AARC works with families who may not be able to afford it, in order to accept as many kids as possible.
AARC receives partial funding from the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Mental Health & Addiction which allows them to offer a sliding scale fee. Each family’s circumstances are unique but, for over 32 years, AARC have remained committed to prioritizing treatment for youth safety. When it comes to fee for service, AARC have remained consistent in their messaging that NO FAMILY WILL BE TURNED AWAY DUE TO LACK OR INCOME OR SAVINGS. The Recovery Home process is a mandatory part of treatment and, as a graduate of the program, I can understand why. Although overwhelming on paper, it is the favourite part of treatment for families and clients. It is part of the therapeutic process of the program and what makes the AARC experience and community unique. Unfortunately, this component does not work for all families, however, AARC is an outside the box organization that can consider individual circumstances. Hope this helps.
Got much love for ya Baum. Thunder Buddy 4 Life. #TB4L
Thus guy even spelled Adriana name wrong in the title 🤣🤣
Ooops, thanks for the troll though. Easy enough fix :)
Also "Thus" guy makes a typo when trolling someone about making a typo .douche
Adriana is still using behind closed doors. And Sonya Johnson is, too. You got two fake advocates on your show. Sonya is also cheating on her husband. Adriana loves black dudes. They ran through her in NY, and then she snitches on them.
Devin was one of those people you meet through the journey of life and just know he's one of the good guys. You will be missed!
Yes, he was special. He had a big heart. I knew him for years. I worked with him in construction on the Sunshine Coast when he was younger. He was always fun to be with..rest in peace.😢
Here's a view. YOU NEED IT.
LoL I really don't. I assure you that if I needed validation through social media, I get plenty from other platforms. For instance thus episode has 2200 views in 2 days on FB. I chose to stop interacting with you because I don't need your brand of energy and negativity in my life, and I regret getting off my high horse to fight with a pig. I thought I could convince you not to be a total douche bag, but I was wrong for trying. I haven't so much as thought about you until this little cry for attention...... You continue to do you, and I'll continue living my best life.
I got half of my bright foot chopped off and refused any of the pain pills, because I was addicted to opiates, and I was fine only because I have neuropathy from the knees down
🤣🤣🤣 LET ME GIVE YOUR CHANNEL A VIEW SINCE NO ONE ELSE IS 😂.. GROUPIE 😂😂
Lol,. your FB compares to mine the same my YT compares to yours. For me it's not about the numbers. It's sincerely about the message. If it was about the numbers, I would be participating in low brow crap trying to tear others down to build myself up. Good luck
❤
You’re a goof
Thanks for having me on, brother! God bless! #YouAreLoved
So interesting and informative. I would love to come to Yatra for 30 days.
I can't begin to recommend it enough. Next week we will be covering CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) in detail, but with Yatras unique approach to it, and the week after, EMDR therapy, which is my favorite. Go to their website for more info www.yatracentre.com

Surely Only God will judge us and that day is the day no one can run from … May Allah have mercy on all of us . May Allah have mercy on this soul .
Guilt and shame. This was a great show
Fun show
My son is a survivor and living in recovery for seven years this month. I am thankful every moment of every day that I still have him in my world physically. For me, I want to focus on the positive aspects of his being. I am not ashamed of his journey and hold his value very high. To hear this podcast, I am uplifted by the focus on celebrating the lives of those who have gone on before us. The appreciation of their souls, their impact on us and on others. The recognition of real life help that parents need while they navigate a loss so profound there are no words to express their grief. Thank you Noreen for the work you are doing. It matters so much, as you know! ❤ 👍🏻💕❤️
Noreen, I loved this. Sending you love and hugs mama.💜
I’m crying listening to this,, Noreen . This could have been me talking about my Brian who I also was going to write the book 📕 of how we beat 20 years of this Disease and made it but he died from Fentanyl ..
Noreen I loved this so much sweetie I understand this so much my son passed away 9yrs ago Nov 6th 2013 will be 10 years and I still have difficult days my son autopsy stated accidental overdose and like you said I was angry with God the 1st 4 years 💔 and what saved me was the retreats I attended love you Noreen
Noreen nailed it. She told my story with my beautiful daughter Sarah. Thank you for talking so openly about the life of someone suffering from addiction. My Sarah lost her battle on July 10, 2021.
I am a member of this woman’s online group, and she truly is a good heart who understands!
