She was loved by pd, but her score and rank were pretty much low. But in the final, she showed her development, and her disadvantages can be offset with her visuals and appropriate vocal range. This is why I think judges picked her instead of someone else. jeemin : la vie en rose Of course, her debut was secured pre-show, but I think la vie en rose really nailed down her debut. In IWALY, she lost because she was 'playing safe' which means, if she was 'playing safe' one more time, judges might have took her out off the debut line. But she didn't. She challenged herself to center part, higher notes. jiyoon : IWALY It's not really only IWALY itself, but it's 'ENL - IWALY - IATB'. before this, she was portrayed to have a horrible leadership, selfish attitude for a group(i loved her for this), bad stage presence & overall skills. Almost everyone hated her. But, ENL proved her wonderful vocal skills and made everyone change their perspective on her. But everyone said she will go better with solo, and IWALY proved it was wrong. And her bridge part was EVERYTHING. Her debut was secured since here, and IATB showed she was NOT selfish, has a great leadership, and has a great sp, which made her debut spot safer. koko : IWALY She was great from start, but pds and viewers didn't recognize it. She had low screentime and only recognized as a great dancer. But, IWALY episode was about her story. The episode showed her how she practices to make her dance and stage presence to pop out and eventually she succeed. However, she lost to another strong contestant, saebi. This made viewers recognize her which made her rank 2nd in 1st save vote. sarang : mic drop (IWALY) She was also great from the start, but didn't get recognized. he situation was better than koko, but was still the same. MIC Drop showed how perfectionist and great leader she was. She matched all the details and showed great facial expressions, which made judges love her. Also, in IWALY, she didn't have many parts, and her opponent was jeemin. But she proved how much she can pop out with low amount of parts with her expression. This made judges and viewers love her. jungeun : latata She's similar with jeemin. Her debut was secured from the start. She had a strong fanbase, solid skills, etc. But her skills were kept putting down from judges and viewers, mainly because her main vocal opponent jiyoon(i love her) and also from her main vocal part from panorama(which was bullshit cuz who can do that). It seemed like her fanbase was slowly decreasing. But in LATATA, she showed her another greatest skills, dance and stage presence, which gave judges and viewers another perspective on her. And in 2nd SAVE VOTE, it was proved that her fandom was NOT decreasing, but rather more uniting for her debut. saebi : panorama (IWALY) At first, she was pretty, but she wasn't really impressive. Her stage presence was great, but her vocals and dance skills were kinda average. But, in Panorama, she made her stage presence almost perfect, and also enhaced her vocal ans dance skills. She was titled 'born to be center', and made it clear at IWALY. her expression and dance skills were on top, which led her to rank 1 in part 1 evaluation ranking.

the way there was no performance or reason to be found for mai.

to people still hating on mai because the other girl didn’t debut: mai might not be the best at singing but she showed a lot of potential from the beginning. she didn’t back down from challenges and instead push herself further. she improved herself significantly. (her nasality completely gone by the end of the competition) her visual is just a bonus. the pds saw all that potential and chose her. the other girl, fuko, is good at vocals but they have jiyoon + jungeun who can easily outsing her. dance? koko is there. stage presence and center? they have saebi and jeemin. visual? mai and saebi will serve that. tbh all of them are visuals too. i’m sorry but there’s nothing fuko does that the other girls can’t do. also, her fans failed her massively by not voting for her.
