An honest salesman? Not sure they succeed these days. I mean sure, if you want to just get by selling potato peelers. But these days its so hard to run a business its not even worth it unless you're trying to make alot of money. Too much time and effort wasted trying to do everything up to code and insurance and taxes and unemployment. Thats why everyone and their mom would rather sell something worth a $1, for $20, than sell something worth $5, for $7. Its not about people, its about money.

not all discipline-building activities need to be extreme or risky. Here are some ways to train discipline without putting yourself in potentially harmful situations: Start Small: Begin with tiny, achievable goals. As you accomplish these, you'll build confidence and motivation for more significant challenges. Establish a Routine: Create a daily routine that includes activities like waking up at a consistent time, exercising, and setting aside specific blocks for work or study. Routines build structure and discipline. Set Realistic Goals: Set achievable short-term and long-term goals. Break larger goals into smaller, manageable tasks to make progress more tangible. Prioritize Tasks: Use a to-do list or task manager to prioritize your tasks. Tackle the most important ones first, and resist the temptation to procrastinate. Practice Time Management: Learn to manage your time effectively. Break your day into focused work periods with breaks in between. Techniques like the Pomodoro Technique can be helpful. Build Healthy Habits: Focus on developing positive habits, such as regular exercise, healthy eating, and adequate sleep. These habits contribute to overall well-being and can positively impact your discipline. Accountability: Share your goals with friends or family who can provide support and hold you accountable. Having someone to answer to can be a powerful motivator. Mindfulness and Meditation: Practices like mindfulness and meditation can help improve focus and self-control. These activities contribute to a clearer mind, which can aid in disciplined actions. Reward Yourself: Celebrate your achievements, even the small ones. Recognizing your progress can reinforce positive behavior. Learn from Setbacks: Understand that setbacks are a natural part of any journey. Instead of viewing them negatively, use them as learning opportunities and adjust your approach accordingly. Educate Yourself: Learn about the benefits of discipline and understand the long-term rewards. This knowledge can serve as a powerful motivator. Visualize Success: Picture yourself achieving your goals. Visualization can enhance motivation and make the path to success more tangible. Remember, building discipline is a gradual process, and it's essential to be patient with yourself. Consistency and a positive mindset will contribute significantly to your success.

The guy also explained it wrong. If you're doing it just to do it there's no benefits but if you do it when you don't want to do it that makes your mind to force you to do things you don't want to do that you need to, that's the benefit.

The Bible is the word of God is the rules to live by. The reason our world is in the shape it’s in now is because it has strayed from the word of God. Seek ye first, the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and and all these things shall be added onto you

Social and economic mobility is a little understood topic. I’m no expert, but if my googling skills are anything to go by. In the US 43% of children born into the bottom quintile (bottom 20%) remain in that bottom quintile as adults. And we’ll have to pull from my education here but even those who manage to transcend their economic strata, only do so (marginally) or to put it colloquially, they tend to only progress one or two rungs (of the economic strata) in a life time ( to make it short and sweat) The real question is will this gap be exacerbated in our lifetime.
