As a man, I entirely agree with the fact that hookup culture is designed to benefit men - specifically the men seeking non-committal sexual relationship with women. Personally, I believe sex is a very intimate act that one should only engage in with a partner with who they have a proper connection and a deep level of trust - so naturally I am opposed to it in general. But If the women in question want that relationship on their own, its their free choice to make. Not everyone shares my beliefs and every person is free to do what they want with their life. The problem is that its not really the case for most women. Most of the time women are pushed into it from a younger age, even if they are technically an adult at 18, they still lack lived experience and understanding of how things like this affect them. Considering the additional peer pressure and the normalization of it in meida, and the way more sexually conservative behavior is viewed negatively as prudish, a lot of women end up doing things they arent fully on board with to "fit in" - which they shouldn't. Its sad to see how efficiently the capitalist society turns the originally "progressive" ideas of sexual liberation into a tool for sexual exploitation and how seemingly willing people are to go along with it

Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk don't deserve their wealth which they got through exploitation and shady means. Maybe instead of randomly craping on the left, you can incorporate some Marxist analysis to your feminism so you aren't celebrating racist and misogynistic men, who have directly used their capital to harm women, lgbtq+, and bipoc folk. Feminism (even sex negative feminism) without material wealth and race analysis is shallow.

A few points: 1) Your first point against Anastasia, that she is bad at her job, is categorically false. You present the interview she did with Christian Grey as evidence, but the thing is, that wasn’t her job or even her career field. It was a favor she was doing for a friend, who got sick at the very last minute and didn’t want to cancel, as it had taken a lot of effort and persuasion for her to obtain the interview. Ana agreed to do it even though she had no experience and it made her very uncomfortable (kind of her MO 😂), in order to help out her friend. I don’t know if this makes her a good feminist or not, but it does, seemingly, make her a good friend. But also, let’s just say you were correct and that interview had been Ana’s. I fail to see how this makes her a bad feminists, especially considering that you later on state that she got better at her job. The only way to get better at something you’re not good at is by doing it and learning from the mistakes, which in your scenario, Ana does. What you seem to be arguing for is perfectionism. And I’d wager that society expecting women to always seem perfect is a big reason feminism even exists in the first place. 2) I strongly disagree with your stance against choice being the bedrock of feminism. The only feminist definition I can get behind is that it is about giving women the same opportunity to make choices about their own lives that men have had historically. Anything further than that enters into the territory of control, which is, supposedly, the realm of patriarchy. 3) Speaking of control and your dislike of a Christian’s use of it, I’d like to point out that there are different forms of control. There’s the overt form of it that Christian uses. Then there’s the more covert use of it, such as by using guilt and shame. An example of this would be labeling people as good or bad based on our own beliefs and values rather than respecting their right to make their own choices about their lives based on their own beliefs and values. 4) A pet peeve of mine is the over-usage of terms such as narcissist and psycho- or socio- path in popular culture. A person can be self-centered, self-serving, lacking in empathy or emotional maturity and still not be either one of those things. Those are clinical terms that, in actuality, describe a very small percentage of people. 5) And lastly, I’m interested in why you didn’t bring up or show any empathy towards the fact that Cristian was an abused child, who witnessed his mothers sex work and drug abuse, felt traumatized from having to sit with her dead body for days until they were found, and then, later on, was groomed into the BDSM lifestyle as a teenager by a friend of his adopted parents. I understand that the movie didn’t go into as much detail as the books about all this. However, Anastasia not being able to touch him in certain places because of the cigarette burns he still had on his body, and the fact that Cristian didn’t comprehend “Mrs. Robinson’s” (Ana’s nickname for the woman who groomed him. The same one you claimed he was cheating with) wrongdoings are big point of contention in the movies. In conclusion, I think the biggest problem is that you look at this movie through a political/social movement lens. Someones sexual preferences are a deeply personal matter, not a political one. What two consenting adults legally do in their own time is not a matter of debate for the social sphere. I understand that part of your argument is that their consent, their choice, doesn’t matter and that what they’re doing should be considered abuse and therefore illegal, but that is simply a matter of opinion.

Then abortion came along to put the final nail in the coffin. These creations were the fertile ground that created the myth of casual sex among millennials in the late 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Sex and the City is the epitome of this, and it is a myth because, after all, most sexual relations occur within a relationship, whether dating, engagement or marriage. But 60 years have passed since the pill and Generation Z has had its life and future distorted to satisfy the pleasure of the boomer, X and millennial generations. Generation Z girls are realizing that having sex with a bunch of boys in their teens and early adulthood is not a good deal. Of course, they continue to date more than boys, but there is a decrease compared to previous generations. And this causes bizarre distortions like seeing 20-year-old girls dating men who are almost 40 because they have a house, a car and money to spend on them, something that the men of Generation Z simply do, and they are being relegated to a symbolic castration, they are like eunuchs who still have a penis.
