Zenyatta..winner...i is indonesia ...i like zenyatta....zenyatta is the best...zenyatta winner💪
Her and Mike all heart.
Any top 10 list zenyatta isn’t in the maker of that list needs to get their head checked! Z is every bit as great as ruffian I don’t know how you could put one in front of the other ??? 2 of the greatest filly’s of all time! Now you have to start to think of Z’s half sister Winx with her incredible run of 33 wins in a row, the girls are getting better! Watch out boys!
Zenyatta terbaek
jockey blew the last race.
Zenyatta you are Beautiful and the Best Girl.
I never count that last race to me she will always be 19 4 19. She loved to run. She had herd sense. She would size up the other horses and always be looking at them as she advanced on the track to the finish. She was the most amazing horse I have ever seen in my life.
Give her one more stride and she wins that race.
❤️❤️❤️
5:10 poor mike 😰 it wasn't your fault or zenyatta
I found this video looking for the omnic.
Been watching racing since 1971 she was the greatest female I eer saw and yes that includes Ruffian. At a mile and 1/4th she would hae reeled Ruffian right in. But for a botched ride she is 20 for 20 beating the best boys in the world TWICE.
You are right about the mile and a quarter. Zenyatta would reel everyone in at a mile and a half. She was a distance horse. The longer race favored her style. She was a slow starter but her stride kept picking up and the last quarter she would finally hit her top gears and you could just see her start to explode. She was running Blame into the ground at the wire and would have swept past him and left him in the dust in the next eighth. Even Gomez said she would have beaten Blame if the race had gone a little more her way down the backstretch and Quality Road had not held her up.
I never really was into horse racing, but Zenyatta was the one to bring me into it.
GREAT HORSE OF ALL TIMES ZENYATTA
It was the surface. She'd never run on dirt before. She didn't like it. But almost won. Magnificent.
So right. I think she only ran on dirt one other time in the Apple Blossom. Not only was it the dirt but it was wet. Had been raining. She leaves the gate last so was pelted by stinging wet sand and almost pulled up and stopped. That is why she was thirty lengths back in the backstretch. The BC 2010 was her greatest race in my opinion. She had to overcome incredible odds to get to the wire when she did. No other horse in that field could have made up thirty lengths, work through bad traffic and still lose the race by a nose!
this race 2010 breeders cup was lost by being too far behind which was jockey estimating she could run like she had a yr before but a tr older is a lost in of what she had a yr before so this cost her the race instead of first was second. a horse of greatness and tribute to jockey in handling in all the race won.

ZENYATTA - QUEEN OF THE MARES RUFFIAN - QUEEN OF THE FILLIES
***** Sorry but no, Zenyatta always battled. Ruffian was just always in front nothing to it. Horses that battle are something strong.
She was simply the best....
Shes a different kind of runner, but she diffinately deserves her places as one of the greatest along with all the other greats, Shes never failed and even though she lost her very last race, she still didnt fail because she ran the same way as she always had she hardly lost, a few more strides she would have won! But she ran consistainly thats greatness because thats rare to find a horse like that. Shes got a body like ruffian because shes soo big, and shes almost black! she runs outbeats everyone of those great horses and she beats them alll, alllllllllllll the way from the back! DEAD Last all that ground she makes up in a matter of seconds is amazing! And her sweet bold personality so much character in her eyes you cant help but notice her!
amen!
I've watched this a dozen times and I cry each time
Just watched it again, which I rarely watch the 2010 BCC, and cried again. I still wonder if Mike had switched to right-handed right away once he was clear, would that have made the difference. She always seemed to get an extra spirt when he whipped right-handed. Yeh, I know, it's a mute point.
Even fairy tales has an end...
Awesome Girl
Awesomely done..great tribute! Love that the naysayers were included. I remember all the snide comments before the first BC... Race #20 made me cry ...because history books won't reflect at all what she did because of that couple inches...you illustrated how special she is perfectly! I was fortunate enough to see her run twice and just being 15 feet away from her when she was in the paddock area was awe inspiring, She's the best I've ever seen in person...probably the best I ever will see.
Next stop: Thoroughbred Hall of Fame! ♥
Stellar tribute. Thanks for this, Jess4104.
Her ears were still pricked at the finish line!!!! :D What a champion!! ♥
It's sort of ironic that Quality Road acted up so badly and 'took the studs,' pardon the pun, and wouldn't go in the gate in the 2009 BCC and had to be scratched due to scraping his leg, turns out to be the very horse that stalled in front of her in 2010 and cost her the race.
Makes me cry every time. What a great tribute!! She is one of a kind! I'll betcha there are racing "experts" that are still picking crow feathers out of their teeth.
La MEJOR de todos los tiempos..... ZENYATTA THE BEST.....
I get tears in my eyes when I see the still shot of the finish of the 2010 BCC. That is tear-worthy. One more stride and a whole new story. A 6 y/o filly against a loaded field of younger males yet she loses by only a half a head after weaving through traffic. Blame got a perfect trip and even Gomez said he ran the best race of his life that day. Who was the best horse in the field? Zenyatta, hands down.
Comparing Zenyatta with Black Caviar is apples and oranges. Two completely different racing styles...and racing distances. I love them both! Zenyatta was nearly 20 lengths behind and lost strides in the 2010 BCC due to traffic and yet was only one stride from winning. That's why she is still so beloved. ♥ Blame's jockey, Garret Gomez, said he would not want a rematch with Z because he knew how lucky he was that day.
Saying that Black Caviar won easy races is probably the poorest way to proove your point, more when Black Caviar competed outside of Australia and won a GI in Royal Ascot. I have to agree with you in the Dirt vs Turf surface topic. Anyways, I do think that Zenyatta is a better racehorse than Black Caviar, not because all of what you said, but because Zenyattas' racing style. Its really challenging for a closer to win every single race, what she did almost everytime. Plus she was a sweetheart.
Black Caviar ran short and easy races. But Zenyatta ran long and hard races. Black Caviar never ran in the "Breeders Cup Classic" which is one of the most expensive races in the world. But Zenayatta did and won it! Plus Black Caviar ran on turf. Turf is easy to run on because it is soft and slick. Dirt is harder because it's hard and rough. This means Zenyatta ran on a harder surface and won! Let me sum this up! Black Caviar ran easy races. Zenyatta ran harder races. Team Zenyatta!
I think I saw a better one yesterday if I'm being totally honest. Treve was absolutely astounding over in France. To beat a Japanese triple crown winner the way she did was mind blowing. I don't think I've seen a better filly in my life.
