Gulf Coast RV Camping on a BUDGET $40 or Less Per Night!
Looking for budget-friendly Florida beach RV camping on the stunning Gulf Coast? Dive into this video where you can camp for just $40 or less per night!
In this thrilling part 2 episode, we arrive at St. Andrews State Park Campground in Panama City Beach, Florida. After a speedy check-in, we grab our golf cart just after the St. Andrews Camp Store shut down at 4:00 P.M. We navigate our RV down a long road, soaking in the unique Florida landscape on our way to the camp store. Get ready for a quick ride around the campsites at the campground featuring picturesque spots just steps from the ocean on Saint Andrews Bay!
We take our first stroll on the beach and are blown away by its incredible size! This expansive stretch is a result of Hurricane Michael in 2018, which dramatically reshaped the shoreline.

      Also i have to say this - your picking a good time for weather in May. Generally we always had good luck on the Gulf with weather in May. But unfortunately we work big video gigs the entire nonth of May so we cant travel that month. 😢. Also crowds are managable in may too because schools in large are not out until the end of May so that helps. I think you picked a good time to visit! Again thanks for watching and always love hearing your feedback! 👍🏻👍🏻

      So here is the thing. So Florida residents can book 11 months out. Out of state can book 10 months. So the locals get first dibs and it’s hard to beat them is what I’m guessing. So off season is probably your best luck for this park.

    Can you bring your own golf cart or do you have to rent theirs?

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 8 днів тому

      You can bring your own! If you want to drive off site around PCB you will need to be registered and tagged with a license plate, this can be your home state of course. You will need to have what they call street legal golf carts with blinkers side view mirrors etc. PCB gets strict with rules for golf carts on their streets. But at the state park you’re good! The golf cart we rented from the camp store was not street legal at all! It didn’t even have break lights when stopping 🤦‍♂️

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 8 днів тому

      If you rent theirs for 7 days it’s $335.00 for a 4 passenger. Comes out to $47.86 a day. 1 day is $55.00. Longer you rent they discount. But if I had my own i’d bring it!

  • @sayrahBurr
    @sayrahBurr 8 днів тому

    What would you guys say is the most difficult issue with Gulf camping? Weather or the Sand? :) Do you typically only stay in RV parks? Or have you ever done a single site rental like an air bnb syle?

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 8 днів тому

      Anyone reading can chime in, but for us I don’t know if I can say anything difficult but if I had to say would be weather. During Hurricane season it can be unpredictable. Weather service can let you know of bad storms coming a week or so before, but when you book a year or months out you never know. You just hope for the best. Sand is a non issue, we love Gulf sand! Nothing better than good ole white fluffy soft Gulf sand! Our last ever place was a Dunes of Panama condo in PCB. We will only ever be in an RV now! 😁🤞🏻 Back to weather in December 2022 was awful! We were at Camp Gulf and a tornado came out of nowhere and i thought we were going to die in our RV! We didn’t have our channel then it would have made a good video watching us praying. 😳. But for the most part we always have fair to great weather at the Gulf! Thanks for watching!

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 9 днів тому

      Agree it’s not the best. We like Pompano Joe’s we just didn’t do it on this trip. We tried to go but the parking lot was full every time we drove by it. Parking is the pits for Pompano Joe’s when you have a truck that takes a 2 acre field to turn 😁 it’s hard to park there. My truck has a horrible turning radius. Last time we went there it was December and the lot was only half full. Thanks for watching!

      We have not. Need to make note of that one. Tomorrow we have a video series starting where we are at St. Andrews Campground in Panama City Beach. We have not stayed at any state park campgrounds before and we kind of liked it. The series will be comparing that to Camp Gulf. The series is going to be called “Budget Gulf Coast RV Camping”. Comparing the difference between affordable to pricey, because as we know Camp Gulf can cost. We do not bash Camp Gulf in it we just show what you get for less money at St. Andrews when comparing it to a pricier RV resort on the Gulf.

    • @LadonnaHamilton
      @LadonnaHamilton 9 днів тому

      @GlampReview we've not stayed at any Florida State Parks either. Can't wait to see your reviews.

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 9 днів тому

      Check out the video. The park itself is currently still undergoing a makeover after Hurricane Michael tore it up 2018. You can tell when it gets complete this park will be very nice. The campground is mostly finished. Now their upgrading all the roadway in the park and it miles and miles of roads. That place is enormous. I cover all the important stuff and what may concern some people in the series. Camp Gulf is still a pretty hard one to beat but the price. Tomorrow kicks off the series but I give sneak looks into what the series is about. Watch at the end of part 1 tomorrow where i reveal how much of a price difference it is. I looked up Santa Rosa RV Resort, that looks nice! May have to put that in a line up later.

      Ice cream recipe. It is made with Raw Eggs so make sure to use pasteurized eggs. This is a grandmothers recipe. It’s also advisable to use only fresh high quality eggs. Studies have shown only a small percentage can get sick for consuming raw eggs they say the comparison would be your chance of being struck by lightening. Ao just be advised. We have always used raw eggs and never got sick CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM 3 cups of sugar ½ cup of cocoa 4 eggs 1 Tbsp. vanilla ¼ tsp. salt ½ pt. whipping cream ½ gallon whole milk Mix cocoa, sugar and salt together; add eggs, beat real good. Enjoyed your video. Were thinking of buying a smaller camper so we could camp at some beaches and other places. We'd like to be able to take our cat "Walt" on our shorter trips but he stresses over being in a car. I was wondering what you give your cats to keep them calm?

      Go to your vet. You can only get it through a vet office. It’s called Acepromazine 10mg. Her size we give half a pill. A whole pill she will just be lethargic and cant walk strait. Half was perfect. It’s a tranquilizer for anxiety. It absolutely helps her but she hates taking it. So it’s a chore to get the pill down. Thanks for watching! So this coming Saturday I have a video coming out you may be interested in its at St Andrews Campground in Panama City Beach. It’s going to be a 5 part series that starts Saturday where we compare camp gulf to st Andrews. This will give you an idea of two beach places! 😁 Again thanks for watching!!! Hope that Walt can travel with ya’ll. Be sure to do exercises with him at home so he can get use to the camper first. We did that to get Simon and Annie use to being in a new home. Now they look at it like an extension of their home now.

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 14 днів тому

      Oh also to add, Simon gets the same pill now too. He gets a whole pill for his size. At first it was just Annie but then Simon got anxiety, so now they both get drugged.

      Thank you!! We will be sure to talk to his vet about that. We think that when he gets in the vehicle he thinks he's going to the vet.. lol. Walt is a rescue so it's hard to know what goes through his mind. But thank you. I will be sure be on the lookout and watch your video. I came across your videos in my recommended line and we are now subscribers. Getting him used to it is a good idea. Thank you!!

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 13 днів тому

      @ welcome! Both of ours are rescues too! I think the same with ours, thinking it’s the vet which probably makes them think about where they came from. Like you said who knows what they are thinking. Once we get camp setup they settle down and love it. They like watching all the nature and people outside the windows. But when it rains Annie goes into hiding, she finds a cubby somewhere and wont come out until the sound is over. Rain is loud in the roof of campers, AC units can help drown out the rain noise but when it gets heavy she will hear it. Thank you for subscribing!

    What camera are you using for the wave shots?

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 14 днів тому

      I used a GoPro Hero 9 or 11. I have both and cant remember which i used. I would say the 9 because the 11 was brand new then so i probably used the 9. I just set it on 120 or 240 frames per second and then slowed it down in adobe premiere to 20 percent speed. In 2023 when we went and made that video i only had the 9 on that video, that was one of my first videos. All the campground video was done with a hero 11 and the super hi resolution shots with a blackmagic design cinema 6k camera on a gimbal. The 11 I really like because it has a 10bit cinema mode that gets some great video. Thanks for watching!

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 14 днів тому

      And just FYI I use 24 frames per second on all my videos - gives it “filmic” look. So when you take that 120 slow it down it’s smooth on 24 frames. But if you take 24 frames and slow it down it will be very choppy. Sorry if thats too much info. 😁

      Thanks! Glad to be helpful! All those cameras will do you right. Quality will be good on all. Out of the box GoPro needs a little tweaking to get the best out of it. Out of the box the color will be blown out. i use the cinema flat mode and take the sharpness down to low or middle. To sharp will affect image quality, you think high sharpening would be great but its not. Then bring colors out in editing. Its best to keep the color and sharpening processing in editing and not on the camera. Thats what you see in my footage.

    How much was the golf cart rental?

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 14 днів тому

      It was 75.00 per day in April 2024 when we went for a 2 day rental. In this video it was July 2023 and it was 50.00 for one day and 60.00 each day on the weekend. Total was 170.00. They went up in 2024 from 50 to 75.00 weekday. It may be different on the time of year and how long you rent it. Hope that helps. This is something that changes. Sometimes they stay the same then boom one year they go up like that. I have to say golf carting here was fun! If you can afford it I would consider it. Thanks for watching!

      These are made by eartec. They are not two way radios, they’re actually a wireless telecom. We use these in our video business and allows camera operators and directors to communicate without having to push a button to talk. They mute by lifting the mic up. These are also used on low budget movie sets. They are what you call full duplex communication. So you can talk and listen at the same time. You can have up to 16 on one frequency. just like you’re on a phone but better than using your cell phones. They have a 1,000 foot range. Eartec should pay me as salesman lol. Anyways we have used these for years reliably. Here is the link where I bough these. You can find them on amazon too. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1269353-REG/eartec_ul2s_eaul2d_ultralite_3_person_headset.html

      @GlampReview 27 днів тому

      Yea golf carts are not cheap to rent for sure. If you rent them enough you might as well buy one. This is a great place for a golf cart ! The cost was different then. Gravel section starts $80.00. Depending on the site you get will dictate what the cost is. The trip in this video was in 2023 and the cost was in the $80's per night for that site. It was not the best site. In our 2024 video of this we got a great lake view pull though but it cost. Weekdays are cheaper. Holidays are more and weekends are more. We booked a trip this April for the same site we got in 2024. in 2024 and now booked for 2025 is a lake view pull though so it cost more. During the week in April 2025 weekday is costing us $119.00 a night, Then easter weekend its $159.00 a night. Gravel sites will be much less. I made a good drive through from our trip in 2024 which can show you that even the gravel sites look great. Check those out if you haven't already. The cost will be based on what you get and when you go. Thanks for watching!

We were considering putting leveling jacks on our bus but I don't know how I would rotate them out of the way. Again great video ! We always enjoy watching.

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 28 днів тому

      Yea thats all the way up. No way to adjust them higher. If you watch part 1 on this series when i pull off at bucees I talk about how low the rear jacks are. The only way I could get more clearance is raise the trailer axels to give more ride height on the trailer But then i worry that it would be too tall and may get top heavy. It’s already 13’ 7” high. The middle jacks and the rear are both the same height above the ground. The rear is more noticeable. I get someone about every trip flag me down about it. I got to where now I say thank you and keep on driving. They are about 7” from the ground. The snap pads take about an inch or two. So if I was to take the jack pads off it would look higher because then it would be 8 or 9”. I never have an issue except sharp drop offs which i try to avoid.

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 29 днів тому

      Funny you should mention the cost. It cost us more than Disney fort wilderness! I’ll have a series staring in a few weeks where we visited st. Andrews campground at panama city beach. I compare camp gulf with st andrews campground. I know it’s not Destin but PCB offers a lot too. I did not expect much from a state park but wow i was surprised. I don’t have a generator that I can carry. My front compartment on my 5th wheel cant support that kind of weight. It was not designed for that. I guess we could get one and somewhat get it to fit in the truck bed. It would have been nice to have at this point. The camper got to 80 degrees and took the rest of the day just to get to 74. Yea saving spots was awful! You end up having to do it to because of everyone else. Its like i live in georgia and when it snows everyone raids the bread and milk isle. Its the same reason you end up doing it because everyone else does and if you don’t then you miss out 🤦‍♂️ I was about to sit under their tent just to prove a point. 😂 I didn’t shown it but so many times people sat almost right under our tent.
