Samebike XWXL09 Review (folding, fat-tire, ebike)
my review of the samebike XWXL09 or XWLX09. this was supposed to be a quick 5 minute mini-review but it didn't turn out that way. overall, at $1700 CAD I like the bike, but its just a bit too slow for an alleged 750watt motor. i filmed this whole thing on my smartphone with no external mic so please excuse any video/audio issues.

I know this is a three year old wheel but as a new euc rider I think my opinion has some value. also I filmed this review on my smartphone so that's why the audio is unbalanced.

    I have this same bike and can only get max 32kph out of it. Is there no way to get this bike faster? I had thought that at 750w it could do a bit better.

    • @rich566
      @rich566 2 місяці тому

      No, the top speed is 32kph. It cannot go any faster. Believe me, I've tried everything. I actually don't believe the motor is 750w. I think maybe it can peak at 750 but it's nominal power is much less.

    • @rich566

      Do you mostly pedal during your commute or do you plan on primarily using the throttle? If you will be pedaling up the hill using pedal assist then you will be fine. However, if you only use the throttle, then there will be issues. The bike does not like hills, it lacks the power to ascend steep hills and will bog down. I hope this helps.

    Hi and thank you for the excellent review. I've never ridden any EUC so I apologize for all the questions. :) 1) around @5:00 you are riding around and I noticed your knees and are not tight against the knee pads of the wheel - I thought as a rider you would need to squeeze the wheel but from your video that does not appear to be the case. Can you confirm for me? 2) If you are at a stop sign/stop light, can you or are you able to rock back and forth or do you have to get off the wheel? I've ridden hoverboards and would just rock back and forth until safe to cross the street - I would not need to step off of the board. Likewise, I did not experience any issues with damaging the board by doing this. 3) May I ask how old you are? I'm approaching 50, good shape, 145 pounds and wondering if it's stupid for me to even consider picking up this hobby at my age. 4) Do you find that you get any exercise from riding this or is it primarily for fun (I know in another comment you mention you use this for work and play; my question stems from that comment)? 5) @7:00 you talk about slips - Can you elaborate a bit more on what this means? In my mind, I'm picturing you standing on top of the wheel and the wheel is spinning but you are not actually moving. Is this correct? 6) Great advice for the air pressure - I haven't heard that from other reviews I've watched. I'd also be a cruiser rather than a stunter. Lower tire pressure _should_ help more in with grip in the off road scenarios, too. When I had a Jeep Wrangler, we'd air down for more comfort and traction. I bet no one has ever compared an EUC to a Jeep Wrangler before! LOL 7) Speaker - I HIGHLY doubt I'd be playing tunes through the wheel but in the event I do, is the speaker good? On the hoverboard I had, it was awful at best. It should not have even been listed as a selling feature on the hoverboard. 8) What attracted you to an EUC?

    • @rich566
      @rich566 2 роки тому

      Hi Daryl, #1 no you definitely do not want to squeeze the wheel with your knees. The wheel needs to have a little play while riding. #2 while stopped, you can rock back and forth if you want but taking a step off the wheel is easier in my opinion. (Riding backwards is very difficult) #3 I'm a few years younger than you and at 170lbs i can ride the wheel just fine. I would definitely recommend picking up this hobby now. #4 riding the wheel does not provide any exercise whatsoever. I use the wheel for commuting and for fun. #5 the wheel only slips when on a slippery surface like mud or snow/ice. Otherwise I have never slipped. #6 also keep in mind you don't want the air pressure to be too low as that will affect your range. #7 I have never used the euc speaker for music. I use a small separate Bluetooth speaker while riding #8 what attracted me to the euc was the small size & portability. Also the range. I have limited space where I live so I can store the euc in my closet when not in use. I hope this answers all of your questions.

    Great video! I will buy V10F as well. Just want to ask you is it possible to travel with Inmotion v10f by train in Canada? Via Rail Canada web page saying that everything more than 100 watts hour is prohibited item. Do you have any real-life experience to travel with this wheel inside the train in Canada? If it's possible somehow it's a real ideal personal transportation. Thank you in advance for any of your thoughts/advice. Maybe hiding the wheel inside the bag will work?

      Hi. I have never taken the wheel on via rail. I have only taken it on local public transport trains and have never had any issues. I can't imagine them giving you a hard time. If they question you than just tell them the wheel is a 100 watt hour vehicle. How could they prove you wrong?

      Thanks! I use my v10f for both actually. Commuting and cruising around. You're absolutely right, the more miles you rack up, the more natural it becomes. It's so easy for me now, although I still cannot ride backward no matter how hard I try.
