PART 1 The History of the Franks

DISCLAIMER The reign of Clovis contains dates disputed by many scholars. Some dates may be controversial. As my goal is to re-set the standards for mapping the Franks, bringing new information to light is one of the goals for this series. You can comment about them if you'd like just to be mindful of what I have said above.

Impressive video!
What was your source for the eastern frontier and the advance over it by Austrasians please ?
for this period, archeology
@@1_rma I think they meant a specific paper ^^
my description has sources
@@1_rma I saw that, it's great :D
Realism!
🎉🎉🎉
Very beautiful map
Are you planning to just reach Charlemagne? Also beautiful work on that map.
First, Vive La France and 1_rma.🇨🇵✌️ Pierwszy, Niech Żyje Francja i 1_rma.🇨🇵✌️
very accurate one! Salve a stulto sapienti.
Hunyadi Mátyás and his father Hunyadi János remain two of the greatest men in the history of Hungary, and indeed of all Europe.
"made on flipaclip" Bro, you are a monster
Great video! You made a lot of typos tho. It's Pyrrhus, not Phyyrus
👍
Super precise boarders. 💪 What sources do you use?
how do you make this bro when I saw it I was like the author has alot of subs crazy you have only like 500?! You deserve atleast 100K for this
I had some weird dream where your Diadochi war vid became a very detailed history of all Diadochi states
Amazing work
Absolutely spectacular!
Bunch of typos (e.g "Pyyros", "konion", "Peresus" instead of Pyrrhos, Koinon, Perseus) but great overall 👍
Btw I am your 420th like. Also, I'm definitely listening to the music you chose for this cool video for when I work out. And I'm also subbing.
There is no way you made this with flia clip
Actually insane how much work you put into this. I hope this grabs you a lot of history buff subscribers
Much to little time to read thhe explanations. And also there should be an initial 5 seconds to look at the map and understand it, before the changes start. Other similar videos on UA-cam are often much simpler than this, but here exactness is no benefit, instead time is lacking to get it all.
pause the video(okay tbf i really wanted to extend it before but i think i forgot in editing)
@@1_rma I am disappointed, because you had so much potential. Your video is so detailed and spans a whole evolution of Greek-roman relations, not just a bit. But in the end it's like someone vomiting on the red carpet. I am not your enemy. You were so CLOSE! Edit and Re-upload!
Amazing video. I hope you make more Roman/Eastern roman content!
good vid, but an insane amount of spelling errors basically everywhere... how did you read all these sources and still misspell Pyrrhus every single time?
I was very sloppy typing lmao for the longest time when I read about Pyrrhus my brain had always interpreted the word as pyyrhus
High quality maps and amazing info! Good job
Wow, super great. Not a Romaboo myself (nor do I live in Europe anyways) but the whole moments with the dardanians made me wonder ¿would ypu be willing to do a video about them?
the Dardani doesnt really have much about them so probably not
amazing video
Romans nerver conquered "greece". They, Romans, with the help of "greeks", conquered Macedonia. Macedonia was never an ally of Greeks !!! That's an historical lie !!!!! Greeks hated Macedonian !!!!! That's why all greece shout " Freedom to greeks " when Alexander the Macedonian died !!! We can see in that doc, made certainly by a greek, who named by "phillipos" Phillip, to make him more greek than he was !!! GREEKS WERE ALLIES OF ROMAN AGAINST MACEDONIAN !!!! DO NOT TWIST HISTORICALS FACTS !!!!!!!!!
if rome never conquered greece then explain why was greece a province of rome in addition by basically 200, we have many examples of greeks “liking” the diadochi kingdoms (demetrios poliorketes was worshipped by athenai in 304) and in addition, macedonian kingdoms were in cases allied with the greeks,(ex : cretan war)
@@1_rma 1) : In west-europa, they learn at school that Roman conquered Greece. NO !!. Romans conquered first Kingdom of Macedonia !! but they call it the "Roman conquest of greece" in west-europa , and then latter, the (romans) fight against you (greeks) in Corinth battle...- all this, with the help of GREEKS (Macedo-Roman war) because they (Greeks) wanted to be free from MACEDONIAN rules, power !!!! The Greek civilisation ended when the Kingdom of Macedonia invaded all greeks city-state and submitted them (but you, greeks, say that he (alexander) united greeks !!! PFFFFFFF !!!!!! It was the end of what "we" call today the classical period ( since 1840 -Johann Droysen- 2) : There was the Macedonian kingdom and there was the Macedonian Empire wich splitted and appeared the kingdoms of Macedonian Diadochi Nothing else , except ONE greeky diadochi, Eumène de Carda, THE GREEK, the ONLY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And what else !!!!! they were allied with you, ancient greeky , because of cretan war ??? C'mon, go to sleep !!
@@zazazazizizi6276 can you speak in a way where i can understand this, from what I can tell your points are : -Rome conquers Makedon first instead of Greece, which doesnt really add anything to the claim of Rome never conquered Greece, Makedon and her vassals were literally in Greece, you say that the Greeks wanted to be free of Makedon and that’s why they allied to Rome. However the main enemies of Makedon were other states vying for power in their region, not necessarily freedom(Thessaly was freed by Rome but became such an intergrated Macedonian province by then that it was an essential core part of the Antigonids. -Greek civilization ended when Macedonia conquered them(???) Is this what you really mean? Greek culture was without a doubt prevalent, where did you even get this reason?? The Korinthian League was a sign of dominance by Phillipos to the Greeks, essentially unifying them under one state and your reasoning for Alexander uniting the Greeks is a mere “pff” (???) -You then claim that the only Diadoch that was Greek was Eumenes… Macedonians were considered Greek culturally during this point -You try and go around the Cretan War and plain ignore it, I cant even tell if youre trolling or actually serious lmaoo, and I forget to mention that you use “you” to try and refer to me as greek? Very confusing.
What was the random tetrarchy cut at the end for?
You have exactly 0.5 seconds to read something here.
how were you able to get such detailed information btw great video
with sources
Can I ask about the name of the music at the start of the animation?
final days of rome by two steps from hell
@@1_rma Yeah that soundtrack is cool but I wanna know the name of the other soundtrack that starts from 0:58 onwards or atleast a link to it.
Wow, so accurate! And all this is made in Flippa Clip
Why does Asia minor have those large gaps in it, lower Phygia nor Hellespontine Phrygia has not to my knowledge been independent, but has been under the sway of the dominant regional power, that is the Selucids since 280's bar the period around the late 230's to early 220's under Attalus of Pergamon, then the Selucids then the Peragmenes again then Rome, then Mithradates and then Rome again. It is merely those gaps seem rather odd, especially if they exist as enclaves within an empire, and are not subject, so if you have a source or some work on this i would love to know.
you can see my asia minor video for the tribe names
You forgot to put in South Italy and Sicily Marseille Libya Egupt Syria Cyprus Crimaia it used to be part of Greece back then
the conquest of greece does not equal to the conquest of the diadokhi and other colonies, the provincia of greece and makedon did not include magas hellas
VERYYYYY GOOD do a detailed conquest of gaul please
