Tohatsu Presents: Spencer Boyd
"I think the best comparison between racing and fishing: is there are 36 drivers out there competing for the win. And some days are great days, but you don't win. Much like fishing - you may cast 200 times and only catch one fish...but reeling in that one fish makes it all worth it. Just like racing - having one good race can help negate all the rough days."

Saw this listed for $8300 plus another $6700 for battery. Hope that's not a typo
I have another anode on other side of motor with a ground wire attached to it. I can't find it on the schematics
There is any chance more electric engines lineup
Be honest with me are you really removing your propeller after every use lol
Did you Pay this Actor?
Other manufacturers' small machines are made in China or Southeast Asia, but Tohatsu is good because it is 100% made in Japan.
What prop are you using?
The propeller shown in this video is sourced from the boat manufacturer: www.sabineskiffs.com/
Very excited about these new outboards and seeing what they can do!
He is a awesome angler
💚🐪🌴☀️🌍
Awesome work you guys (and ladies)! Can’t wait for the day I have to replace my trusty 2 stroke that powers my sailboat. If it happened today I’d definitely go with tohatsu.
Any estimate of MSRP/Price?
US MSRP is $8,550, which includes the outboard, control box, touch screen control display, data cable connections, steering drag link, mounting hardware, a propeller an anode kit, and owner's manual with installation guide and template.
Really want one of your new 30HP outboards for my duck boat to showcase on my channel! Definitely something I’ll be saving for!
Very nice, good to see Tohatsu sticking with 48V and non proprietary batteries. Will there be larger motors for this series?
"Feeling the Wind"...ha ha. I get it.
now we need the 6hp single cylinder with EFI at 60 lb
Thank you for your service !
You never give any torque specs. I don't like ''snug''. How many foot pounds for the plugs?
For the MFS50A, tighten to 18 foot pounds
This motor is going to serve a lot of people well.
I have a MF25 I highly recommend it . Great reliable motor!!
Hi i am planning to purchase of MF25 but i dont know if its fit or compatible to my 13ft fiber boat. Which size and kind of your boat did you put your engine MF25?
Best Regards from Motozum Náutica Brazil!!!
I must say my Tohatsu 20 hp EFI is the best motor I've ever owned.
Sweet! Tohatsu bringing the game!
Any idea of the approximate weight of the pontoon boat? Thanks
The boat featured in this video is a Qwest pontoon: www.qwestpontoons.com/ - they should be able to help you!
Nice!
Great outboard!!!
After being beached for two years because my 1998 Suzuki DT115 gave up on me I just bought the Tohatsu MFS115A today for my 24' Deck Boat. The 5 year Warranty can't be beat! I get it back Thursday and can't wait, I'm ready for the water again!!
We hope you enjoy!!!
would love to put one on my full keel sailboat. Currently used 6hp sailpro...great engine just a bit noisy
I have the 3.5 and it’s a great kicker motor for my boat. Can you get kit to convert these to attach a hose from an external fuel can?
The MFS3.5 utilizes only an internal fuel tank. There is no kit to convert to an external fuel can.
Just bought a six tohatsu..hope it's a good one.
Hope you enjoy it!
@tohatsuamerica wish I could pick up my 6hp like that.. Mines just a little bit too heavy for me .
I have a hunting channel and love your outboards. Hoping to get one someday to showcase in my duck hunting videos!
Tohatsu has got-you covered!💪💙🙌
I wish this was for a 30. BTW probably missing out on some $. Why not have a affiliate link to the parts? Make it truly one stop... Just my 2ct.s
Cute little motor. A lot of batteries.
If number of batteries is a concern, you could opt to use 2 24v batteries in place of 4x12v batteries. If-for whatever reason-number of batteries is still a concern for you, use a single 48v battery.
What are the differences in the lower units between the C and D models? The new D model lower units look like they have a lot less meat on them than the older C model ones?
The D model has a totally redesigned lower unit, where they did manage to cut out quite a bit of the "bulk" and weight, while maintaining the durability.
rang?
Hello! Battery runtime expectancy, based on typical (4) 100Amp-Hour 48V nominal lead-acid battery configuration is as followed: Power Usage (Watt) Runtime (hr/min) 6,000 00:48 3,000 01:36 1,500 03:12 500 09:36 The actual run times may differ based on factors such as battery quality, health, and current charge level. As well as battery type!
When can I buy it? Will it work with my existing 48V propulsion battery bank?
Production starts July 2024, and we hope to have it available by August. The MEP6.0 is compatible with 48V-60V systems and the following batter types: Lithium Ion, Lithium Iron Phosphate, AGM, and Lead Acid
will it do regen?
That’s pretty trick!
Speed on a 2070 or 1860?
Invest in a rubber mallet, Pete !
Do you have the average speed of 4.8 m fibreglass hull inflatable rib With the 60hp
We do not have sufficient testing data for that boat style to provide an accurate answer. The boat in this video is a Highfield Inflatable - they might be able to help you: www.highfieldboats.com/
I have a Tohatsu 6Hp 4-stroke outboard motor, I use the fuel hose with the female adapters, where can I get them, I am from Mexico.
Hi - the Tohatsu Distributor in Mexico is FERRETERA CENTRAL DEL GOLFO S.A. DE C.V. - their website is www.fecegomarina.com.mx/
Hi, I hame same engine. My manual of engine says to use NGK - IKR6G8 spark plug. Your spark plug number is different than mine. this two spark plug are same ?? Thank You
In the United States and Canada, the spark plug part numbers have been updated/superseded to the part number noted in the video.
Hello! What catalog name does the Tohatsu engine have, with a multi-tiller and electric engine start???! Tohatsu MFS30.....??? Please tell me.
For the MFS30D, with electrical start - you would be looking for the MFS30DETS or MFS30DETL (short "S" or long shaft "L") and then you would order the multi-function tiller handle separately.
@@tohatsuamerica Thank you very much for the answer! I ordered Tohatsu mfs30dets from Japan, with a multifunctional tiller.
Can owners perform their own maintenance and still maintain the warranty?
Yes! There is a maintenance schedule in the owners manual that should be followed, along with the accompanying log. You can find your owners manual here if needed:www.tohatsu.com/marine/na/tech_info/manuals.html
Strongman, the iron back! Weight with oil ~ 45 kg. Alaska - dream! From Russia with love!
Is there a website I can order these parts from?
All parts are sold through Tohatsu dealers (either locally or their websites). Several do have online stores! If you are in the US/Canada - you can do a quick Google search for "Tohatsu parts" and several should pop up. Dealers can be found here: www.tohatsu.com/marine/na/dealersearch/index.html
I’m starting to research repowering my 13’ whaler. Might’ve just convinced me to go with Tohatsu.
What brand and model screws are suitable for this motor? and for what operating conditions are they used?
