If you laid a past, present, and future spread, then that's somewhat correct. In that type of spread, the column you land in represents your present, to the left is your past, and to the right is your future. This was never practiced in traditional Lenormand where each grand tableau was laid for a single time period and the spread is interpreted based on the Method of Distance. Yes, absolutely. The cards we draw at any moment in time are based on the energy we’re emitting at that moment. This is why it’s vital to be of a neutral mind when consulting the cards. It’s why I meditate for a few moments before I pick them up. Also, situations are constantly evolving - everything is in a perpetual state of change. When things appear to be staying the same, it’s because they’re changing to the same things based on our energy. If we begin to think differently about something, we are literally attracting a different response. Keep in mind that the cards can show us many different aspects and ways of viewing the same situation. You can also derive the same answer to a question by approaching it in many different ways and you’ll get different cards to explain it. If you can provide an example, I’d be able to better assist you.

@@lisaloveslenormand6357 this may be true when reading the spread as a story. I'm talking about specific questions about specific events that are locked in time. The future is fluid only to an extent; there are some events that are locked in on our timeline. What I did notice though when I tested this further, is that the connection with the cards depends on our focus on the question. When I maintain t he focus, I am getting the same response. So I agree with your suggestion to meditate and focus before working with Lenormand. I've been working for many years with Tarot, yet never had such a strong connection with it like I have with Lenormand cards which I have discovered only recently, for some strange reason. That was definitely a quantum jump to another reality as these cards were not in my previous reality. I talk about quantum jumps on my podcast you will find on my UA-cam channel. 🙂

I think I finally worked it out, I did a descriptive reading around the Man card and it fits with the GT cards, he is going to be a part of a process which the question was about..and he will cause issues...wow these cards are beyond amazing

The Book refers to knowledge that you don't yet have - information that you don't yet know. This is why it's the card of secrets when it comes up next to the partner card or in a small spread for a question about someone's honesty. It also is the life-area card for education and of course represents books and divination cards too. The original image was a grimoire.

There are cards that relate to expansion and increase - the Fish (card of abundance and increase), the Ship card relates to going a distance, going further, exploring foreign territories (literally, mentally, metaphorically), trying something exotic and foreign, and even the Garden (bringing something out into the open, from private to public, including more people, etc).

What's most significant in Lenormand is proximity - more so than position. The Directional cue for card 18 is "the card the Dog faces shows loyalty when near and disloyalty when far." Remember that this system was created for use in a tableau but when learning, you really want to stick to 3-card lines until you have a good foundational understanding of the cards. For small spreads you need a specific question and all cards drawn are considered near in proximity. What that means is that in a tableau, if you want to know about the client's friendships or loyalties, you find where the Dog landed and note its distance from the client's card and what cards immediately touch it. If you need to know more, you can then note what the Dog is facing. The first book teaches all the basics and an intro to the Method of Distance (MOD). The second book teaches the original MOD system.

Directional cues are listed in the first book. Not all cards have them and not every reader uses them all. Welcome to Lenormand!! :-) Aren't these cards amazing? They're faster and easier to learn than tarot and more specific. The Grand Jeu Lenormand is harder to learn but even more specific and provide more details than the Petit Lenormand (what you see in this video).

What I mean when I say that the cards to the right are "stronger" is that they carry more weight because I always read the cards from left to right. Just as the cards above carry more weight that the cards below. I always want to tell the cards how I view the spread - how I read it - so they know how to fall.

I was watching shows like that when I was single and in college I was planning to live in an RV! We just sold our motorhome last year because here in the Northeast we didn't get enough use out of it. We discovered airbnb's. I grew up in a motorhome family. :-)

There’s never been an established “dark side” and each deck is different. Whichever side the darkness falls is valuable information in a tableau so always interpret what lays in front of you, not what you’d prefer or think would be better. I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking. Can you rephrase the question?

@@lisaloveslenormand6357 Yes, I did find out how to buy Zenn's deck. It is an unfamiliar purchase process but I figured it out. We've had a bit of a conversation during the process and she's a lovely person. She said it will take about 3 weeks to receive from India.

Absolutely, yes! In fact, that's how I became interested in the Lenormand cards. This is taken from the first page of the first Lenormand book I published, " Picture this if you will. You’re sitting at your desk on a lovely Friday afternoon in June playing with your cards. A woman approaches and says, “Oh, I didn’t know you read cards!” excitedly. You reply that you're only learning. She tells you that her Persian kitten, Irina, got out of the house a couple of days prior and asks you to see what the cards have to say about the kitten returning home. You remind her that you’re new to the cards and are a little nervous about asking such an important question. She assures you that she will take what you say with a grain of salt. Ok. The pressure’s off. You begin to shuffle your deck while concentrating on this question, “show me if Irina will return home by the end of the week”. You lay out three cards. They are, Cross-Sun-House. You look at the cards for only a second or two and say, “After church on Sunday, she’ll return home”. No sooner do the words leave your mouth that you begin to second-guess yourself and you start to make excuses, reminding her that you really don’t know how to read these cards yet. Once again, she assures you that it’s fine and thanks you before leaving. As soon as she’s gone you start rethinking what you’d just told her. No wait maybe Irina is in distress (Cross) and she’s stuck in the sun or a very hot place (Sun) and the House card could be someone else’s house. Maybe it’s a yellow house and she’s hot because they have no AC (Sun). What if that woman doesn’t even go to church (Cross)? Oh no! Maybe I spoke too soon and should’ve pondered over the cards longer. Interpreting these cards can’t be that easy. What did I do? You put your cards away and remind yourself that she wasn’t going to take what you said seriously anyway. Upon returning to work the following Monday, you receive an amazing phone call. It’s the woman with the kitten. She tells you that the day before (Sunday), Irina was waiting for her on her patio when she returned from church. Everyone lives happily ever after and a new Lenormand reader is born." I saw the Cross as church, I saw the Sun as Sunday, and the House as home. The Sun card doesn't actually represent Sunday, but I was reading intuitively. The art of card reading requires intuition. Once you learn to differentiate between your intuition (right brain) and your conscious thoughts (left brain), you'll be a star!

That's wonderful and thanks for sharing. I love how the truth of what the cards are trying to show us always comes through as long as we relax and remain open to receive. There's a big difference between striving to find an answer and allowing it to come to us. Striving is ego, allowing is superconsciousness!

Hello and thank you for your lovely comment and questions. This spread began as a 9-card box. One day I was looking at a box spread and I wanted to know what the next layer of cards would be if it were actually part of a grand tableau. So, I told the cards that I wanted to envision the box as part of a GT and to show me the next layer of cards. I focused on this intention as I shuffled the rest of the deck and then, beginning in the top left corner, I laid the outer cards around the box in a clockwise direction. Give it a try. I think you'll find it very enlightening!
