The Bull's Garden
Приєднався 5 кві 2016
The Bull's Garden, is all about a father teaching his son Dr. Ricci, how to grow food and make funny videos together entertaining their viewers. The Bull, plays several characters including an old version of himself named Uncle Papi who engages in causing the Bull big headaches. Here on our homestead we have fruit tree and garden beds for growing vegetables and leafy-greens which we share with our church community garden program. We also, raise chickens to enjoy having fresh eggs and collect the manure which helps fertilize our plants
Dr. Ricci, is an aspiring Veterinarian who loves animals and gardening. He enjoys reading and teaching what he knows about the pros and cons of the effects consuming certain plants

Compost Enriches and Builds Healthy Soil
Conserves water and reduces water use by helping soils retain moisture. Helps prevent soil erosion by reducing soil compaction and runoff. Reduces reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides
Recycling food and other organic waste into compost provides a range of environmental benefits, including improving soil health, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, recycling nutrients, and mitigating the impact of droughts
In addition, composting lowers greenhouse gases by improving carbon sequestration in the soil and by preventing methane emissions through aerobic decomposition, as methane-producing microbes are not active in the presence of oxygen.
Greenhouse gases are bad for the environment because they trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere and contribute to climate change. This warming causes changes to the climate, including:
Temperature: The Earth is warming faster than ever before in recorded history, with average temperatures rising
Weather patterns: Precipitation and snow patterns are shifting, and storms are becoming more severe
Sea levels: Sea levels are rising
Extreme events: Heatwaves and floods are becoming more common

These changes can threaten water supplies, coastlines, forests, and economies, and can also harm human health, agriculture, wildlife, and coastal areas.
While some greenhouse gases occur naturally, human activities like burning fossil fuels for transportation and energy have led to a steady increase in their concentrations since the late 1700s. Many greenhouse gases can remain in the atmosphere for decades or even centuries after they are released.

@@LARRYSMITH-p4m no the winter did kill the tree, next time I will just keep it in the container
Good job Bull You are going to have some nice looking compost. Happy gardening my friend 😊
Thanks for sharing
Tyfs
Bull, I used to love my compost piles. It is strange to admit that. I had four Ecobins for composting. It was rewarding to watch the temperature in those piles go up as the ingredients broke down. I had the best black compost at the end of the composting. It was black gold. I miss working with it all.
Hi Mr Bull ☺️ I am late but I'm here. Love the background music 🎶 🎵 ❤
I absolutely compost.

Looks good, Bull. It looked like the chickens were creating a problem with the foundation of the coop. You did a great job taking care of those issues.
Yeah was putting it off but I’m glad I got it done, it’s really working out great and all the feed that falls to cement gets eaten up by the end of the day
Great advise. My girls are digging up the whole chicken run.
Our girls are always getting into something too funny
Great job...Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great job, Bull! My chicks are getting big, and starting to look like chickens. It is getting difficult to tell them apart. All three Rhode Island reds are solid brown with Bella having the darkest feathers, and Trixie having the shortest tail feathers. The Speckled Sussex are almost identical in looks with Raven being the larger of the two, and-Ariel has attitude! She bites and pecks hard. I think she has assumed the role as the top matriarch and is asserting her dominance. LOL. If chickens had teeth, I’d have bloody stumps for hands. They all come running whenever they see me, as I am the bearer of treats. This morning it was a cucumber, small tomato, and a handful of chard leaves. It was gone in less than a minute. All of the chicks will eat scratch grains from the palm of my hand. I give them about three quarters of a cup, every three days, about a quarter of it goes to hand feeding, and the rest is divided with half going into their pine shaving bedding, so they keep it mixed up, and the rest is spread out on the ground. Gotta keep the junk food to a minimum. Later in the fall, I’ll give them treats to boost their protein, and calcium. I am thinking about growing sunflowers in the orchard next year for bird food, and I can use the stalks for plant stakes the following year. The plum tree that had me concerned is putting out a lot of new growth. Getting rid of the moss mats was the solution. They made a good fire. The Prairie Fire crabapple tree is out of the danger zone. It hasn’t put out any new growth which is okay. It is a sign that it is developing roots. I’ve changed the watering schedule to twice a week until fall, then I’ll cut back to weekly. The peach trees have quadrupled in size since being transplanted. The Fuji apple tree has put out new branches, and will have to be pruned down in the winter after it goes dormant. It is easily ten feet tall. I want to cut it back to eight feet tall, so I can reach high enough to spray it to prevent fungus infections. Cedar Gal Rust is everywhere here. It will kill apple trees. It is easier to prevent it, than to treat it. I am looking forward to harvesting cherries and apples next year. The plums will be at least one more year, and the peaches, are a few years away. It is way too hot to sow seeds here. The day time temperatures are in the low to mid 90s in the shade most days, triple digits in the sun. I lost about half of my Brunswick Cabbage seedlings, but may have enough to transplant when they get a little bigger. As soon as the weather cools a bit, I plan on sowing seeds for Nappa Cabbage, Pak Choi, Yellow Heart Winter Choy, Swiss Chard, carrots, beets, and turnips. Around Oct, 1st, I’ll plant garlic and sow seeds for parsnips and radish. I am hoping for a mild winter after last year. I want snow too. The garden will survive it.
It’s so nice to hear your chicks have grown up and looking like chickens now. Ariel, is the Queen and will be respected or else 😅 My Chickens come running from the woods to meet me on my back lawn when they hear me open my back door. I’m definitely keeping all my fruit trees around 8ft for easier handling and picking. Looks like your fruit trees are growing nicely that’s awesome
Very nice

Interesting. I would love to have chickens, but I don't have your patience I think to properly care. Great job done
