    Is this different from a 03-05 Mercedes ML350 (W163)? I’ve serviced both the trans and front diff, but have not located the rear diff yet. I might drive the rear up onto ramps soon…

      It is the same for ml350. The rear diff is very accessible. I suggest doing the transfer case at the same time.

      Late reply, but I ended up using Shell 134 ATF for both the trans(axle)? and the transfer case, and just a generic full synthetic 75w-90 gear oil on the front and rear differential. Those weren’t so picky, I actually used Mercon V on the transfer case at some point before, and it seemed perfectly fine IMO; not something that would seemingly cause damage and whatnot. I figured the fluid/oil specs were out of date and were succeeded by new ones. I actually found some thicker 722.6/NAG-1 compatible ATF to not be as smooth, almost as if it was too thick; but it was more of an equivalent to Dexron III/Mercon V. I ended up using Valvoline Max Life and other Dexron VI/Mercon LV ATF’s as a substitute in the trans and haven’t had any issues. As a matter of fact, it drove much better with the Dex VI/Merc LV ATF; almost as good or as good as the 134 spec ATF.

    I'm thinking of getting a w163 ml 320 i love them hope it's WORTH it .

      100% worth it. By far the most capable vehicle I've owned - like a tank!

    I need this done on my ML320 and I've been having the toughest time finding a reliable mechanic here in Orange County, California. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I should've gone to mechanic school instead of cosmetology school. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Single lady problems. *Subscribed

      Everything is possible when you persist! Good mechanics are almost non existent here too - which plays a big part of why I do my own work. Good luck with your 320. They are worth looking after 👍
