Teak Deck Repair
Переглядів 2273 роки тому
A few photos during the repairs then a wee timelapse of the rest of the process. Living on board during the first lockdown we were incredibly lucky to have to hand the tools, materials and the weather to finally re-plank and caulk the entire deck on our Sigma 41 Shogun. You wouldn't believe the amount of footage we cut out of this! Go team! P.s. Makita 18v cordless Caulking gun if you were wond...
They showing off. Lucky you.
This just makes sailing and boat repairs all worth it. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
Hi there, When you did your teak decks did you use a router to make the slots deeper? If so what sort of bit did you use? And did it work ok? Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply! We did indeed route the seams. We used a 4mm twin flute router bit, one was a cheap silver line job that lasted about 1 hour then a trend one that I am still using a year and a half later. Works fine but you need a good router for the job and a steady hand or you end up drawing love hearts in your deck!
Thanks 😊
Incredible camera angles especially with the spinnaker up! And cudos to the dude hanging off the boat to get those angles. Great work.
Great video! It was close to catastrophe few times - you are a brave man. Please make more as it is very relaxing... Are you flying on cinema setting?
Haha! Thanks for your comments :). I did have one scary moment, the closing scene was inches away from the mainsail and the drone temporarily lost signal! If you watch our fast sailing video, there is some drone footage taken in much windier conditions - you might notice a lower resolution on one or two of the shots. That's because I lost the drone to the sea trying to land it in 20 knots of breeze, sailing at 8 knots! so stupid. I only have the cached files from my phone. luckily my Dji refresh replaced my drone for a wee fee. The footage was taken in normal or sport mode. Makes the fine control harder but easier to bail out quickly when needed. Dji mini 2 it's a beast! Hopefully more coming soon so keep an eye out.
Fun day on the water!
Hi thanks, it most certainly was! Like what you guys are doing with your boat. We are doing much the same on our boat Shogun. Keep the videos coming.
