Welcome to Attainable Green! Where plants are awesome and so are you!
New to growing orchids? This channel will help you get started to make growing gorgeous flowers a pleasant experience.
Don't have a green thumb? That's okay, we'll make growing lush greenery much more attainable. After all, life is much better with a little green in your life, right?
I've been growing orchids for about 4 years now in Southern California (Zone 10B) and there is always so much to learn. Some plants are grown outdoors and some are indoors, so I have a wide range of experience growing these tropical plants. From traditional setups to self-watering and kokedama (moss mound) styles, I love experimenting to figure out what works and what just looks pretty.
These days, I am interested in growing orchids from seed. It's another new adventure, but I am excited to see where it takes me.

I like your videos ❤🎉😊😊
Please let me know where I can find a hilo galaxy. I love your videos.
What you mean 20 dolla ph metre it's a dollar
Great video... i reqly wish you spoke about the care as well. There is so little information on here about the cymbidium sinense, and i just got one. Please can you share a general guide? Thank you
My orchid has no roots. Did i notice correctly that you trimmed it to the lowest leaf to reroot?
Great information, thank you so much.😊
Such a cute cat!! 🐱 ❤
Awww your kitties 🐈😊
Orchid rescue done right! I am in the middle of rescuing orchids that have been neglected. ughhh
You might want to virus test your plant. I got the same plant from the same vendor you did. And tested positive for Cymbidium mosaic virus.
Thank you for the informative video! I wonder if the angraecum from Comoros island has bloom for you now?
Thank you for sharing this and you have such a beautiful ginger cat 😻😻😻😻
What causes the tips of the leaves to brown?
Could you let me know the recent update of the orchid seeds you’ve flasked years ago? Thanks!
How did it go?
0:57
How can you tell it is time start watering again / trigger growing?
It will start growing. The tip will emerge from the tuber and it should peek out from the soil line.
@@AttainableGreen thanks for the reply! So the watering doesn’t trigger it to resume growing, it will just start growing and then when the tip is noticeable, regular watering should begin.
@localmeadows exactly! If you think it’s delayed, you can sprinkle some water to encourage it to grow but not too much so it rots
You lost me a powdered media? what is that?
Do you still have this Pink Lemonade?
I thought orchid roots were supposed to have air exposure and that plastic pot looks solid?
I was succesful in reviving a phalenopsis plant in youre method. Thank you vety mucj gor your advices❤😮
Hello, I like your show!- Mary, from WA🎉🎉🎉🎉
As dehydrated as it was, before repotting, I'm surprised you didn't turn the plant upsidedown and soak the leaves for 20 minutes or so.
Difference between chysis and dendrobium? Super confused rn....
So helpful, thank you
This is just perfect! My tricolor vanda has a seed pod. These videos are perfect for me to follow❤
Pupuratas are also supposed to be cool growing so that's another thing that should be taken into consideration when caring for them.
i love this cat))))))))
That cat was like “ who are you talking to?” So cute lol
HI THERE, THESE PLANTS GO DORMANT DURING WINTER. I DO NOT KNOW MUCH MORE, AS I AM LEARNING ABOUT THIS PLANT ALSO. LOTS OF LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, ANNETTE QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA.
Thank you so much. Much needed information. I just ought my two first. 😊
Good video. I love my self watering pots.
What media do you use? Thanks
How can you tell if the pod is ready for green pod sowing or dry pod sowing????
Yay!! You are back! Welcome back.
I had an infestation of mealybugs on my African violet collection. I believe they come from stagnant air. Once I brought my violets out of that closed environment, the mealy bug infestation was easily controlled with one or two applications of rubbing alcohol. Try a oscillating fan on low snd see if that helps.
3:40 you said you put it on your high humidity room and watered it every day... What does water it every day mean? A mist from a spray bottle? A 10 minute soak? A dip in water?
Interesting that you told the viewers that this plant was purchased bare root and in winter. Tamiami Orchid Festival,Dade County, Florida is timed in January annually. I first went there in 2022 and did not purchase bare root orchids because I was new to orchids. I did however purchase some bare root orchids that May in 2022 and 2023 at the Redland International Orchid Festival in Redland Fruit and Spice Park in South Dade, Florida. I made sure to ask the vendors about care for these plants and the big takeaway was give those older roots and the plant enough time to acclimate before potting. I GREATLY appreciate this video and hope that your viewers learn so their purchases are timed appropriately. Best Regards
Hi. I do not see any new videos. Do you have another channel?
What about temperature of the water?
Ambient room temperature is good enough
Thank you for this video <3
Great video, thank you! I’m getting *close* to trying this at home!
Did you go thru with it? How could you tell when the pod was ready for green or dry sowing?
@@kalimanrod no, not yet.
Hi, it's an exemplary video, keep it up, since from the year 1989 am associated with TC as lab to land programmer.
Thanks!
She said exactly nothing useful Ton of words and no useful tips (actually no tips at all!) 🥺
Thanks for the video! Would you comment on brown edges on some of your flowers? I have this problem on one Mlts: after starting blooming in a week or two each flower starts drying from the edges. The other two Milts are fine so far.Definitely not pests, north window, watering every second day. Thanks!
It could be due to lower humidity in the overall environment. Also, I notice that white and cream colored flowers tend to dry out more than other colorations.
Taking too long too much talking
The patience was a costly lesson for me on my orchid journey too.. I thought something was wrong with them and kept trying to get them to grow by feeding, watering, moving them around, changing media, etc.. By the time I realized I lost so many plants!
Glad you’re back! One thing I’ve learned from my first year of growing is that alot of the “rules” can be broken, ie phals are low light. My phals love growing under grow lights. More bright than shade and some plants that are supposed to dry out, do better with a little more water. It’s such a learning process.
So happy that you are back! I found your videos so informative and it’s great to be learning with and from you again.
