Yep, another PowerShot. It wasn't my plan, but I bought this on shopgoodwill.com for $20 total (including shipping). Well built camera that cost $900 when it came out in 2000. Wow. It's a 3mp camera, not sure if I mentioned that in the video, ironic.

A bike ride on the Queen Creek Wash Trail with the old and irritating Canon SX120IS. I got this for $5 I believe, part of a bulk camera purchase. The camera still shoots great images, but it is quite irritating when starting up. It doesn't save the data and time, possibly due to the dead CMOS battery that is the memory back up. And sadly, I got lots of lens errors. Probably why it was donated t...

Lumix DMC-TZ1 point and shoot digicam

This is the Lumix DMC-TZ1 point and shoot digicam. It is a 5 mp digital camera; quite old technology that came out back in 2006. It is a well build point and shoot that takes beautiful images and acceptable (by today's standards) video. Despite its age, it is a quality optical zoom digital camera that can be had for cheap online. Chapters: 00:00:00 - The Lumix DMC tz1: A Review 00:00:53 - Photo...

Olympus E-20N 5mp digital camera overview
It looks film-like a bit!
I agree, it's the CCD sensor I suppose.
looking forward to more video i have the same camera
Yeah I will have to make some more. I also do leathercraft so I'm busy making stuff for friends. Not yet selling stuff from my website yet, jfclayleather.com.
Great camera hands down! My 1st apsc camera was a a6k. Now I've owned all the a6xxx line except for the a6400.
I have an Olympus OM-D E-M1 which has a fantastic touch screen and auto focus. I like it a lot, but it is M4/3, so it suffers a little in low light, but really takes great images. However it has a zoom lens that is giant, so not great for travel. I love the A6000, it is compact, and this kit lens is small and produces good enough images for traveling, and has lots of focus points. For me, it's the one I grab if I have to travel for 3 days or so.
Sorry for the shaky video. Possibly because of the sped up video and it's an old GoPro 3+.
great review and i loved the insert of the pictures! gives a good indication of the quality :-)
Thanks for your support!
Fastforward to 2024 and now Gen Z is swarming back to older cameras 😮
I know, it's amazing to me.
Super helpful! Thank you!!
Thanks! Glad to help.
Thankss🫶
What size compact flash card did you use?
I think it was a 32mb, I've long since removed the memory card.
Hi, what settings were these taken on! They are gorgeous!
Sorry for responding so late. Not much settings on this camera, I'm sure it was mostly auto.
I got mine with lens for 25 bucks
Wow, that's a great deal.
@@johnnyc.5979 was pretty lucky
waiting for. a new episodes with the e-500! Thank you.
Yes, thanks. I will have to work on that.
Great Video Man ! keep up the great work !! :))))
$30?!?! I had to spend $70
Sorry about that.
Just ordered one on eBay. Can’t wait to have some fun with this little gem 😄
How long does the battery last
I don't know the exact time, but I can use it for maybe 4 days, on and off shooting.
Great post! I have one of these as well from over 20 years ago and wondering if there are drivers/software to connect it via the original USB cable to a Windows 11 laptop. Any ideas?
I don't know, the best option I think is to use an external card reader.
I had one it was sensitive to battery type.Only worked reliably with AA lithium batteries.Never bought rechargeable ones.If memory serves ,choose battery type in menu,or prob best on “auto” setting, for battery type.Nice photos though ccd sensor I think.
Thank you!
Well im impressed at the camera. I plan on taking it to Thailand when I go see my gf.
Yeah, it's more than enough for social media.
❤❤❤❤
This camera has scene black and white?
The modes are: • Portrait • Soft Skin • Scenery • Sports • Night Portrait • Night Scenery • Self-Portrait • Food • Party • Candle • Fireworks • Starry sky • Beach • Aerial Photo • Snow • High Sensitivity • Baby 1 / 2 I just tried to turn on my camera, but the battery is dead. I got the above info from dpreview.com.
Great idea for getting a good deal if you choose to follow his idea. Have fun you Shutter Bugs. 😂👍
No idea why you made this video or why it was even recommended to me, but when I looked at the camera it reminded me of the only camera I've ever bought which, so I went to confirm and yes it is Canon PowerShot SX130 IS. I've made hundreds of photos on it when I was travelling. And those photos still look great. But most impressive part - I checked the price it it was barely $200 for a new camera on batteries which I thought it was limitation back then, but turns out it is a big plus now, when most devices have built in batteries that you have no idea how long will last and how to replace them in future. Just realizing that more than 10 years old camera can still operate given a couple of the charged AAA seems supernatural. Pretty cool stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, I agree. It's nice not to have to rely on specialized batteries and chargers, when you can scrounge for some AAA batteries, or keep extra when traveling.
Great leason on the use of and care of the camera. BLESSINGS
this was my digicam before getting a canon dslr. never used it under low light conditions as it was really hard to get a decent photo. i still have it but sitting for a long time inside a dry box.
I agree with the poor images in low light. It's still a fun camera to shoot outside though.
k100d was my first camera. I loved it so much.
I'm only learning about these old cameras. I'm still impressed.
I never thought I would see anyone talk about the Pentax K100D Super, my first DSLR that I started digital photography with over 15 years ago. The thing that struck me was the ISO maxed out at 16000 and the fastest film i used was ASA1600. and that is where the similarities ended, 1600 was so much better on a digital camera even at that point in time this camera was that start of my Digital camera addiction, i added the K10D, Kr, k5 MKII, K3, K3 MKII and MKIII the Kp and lastly the K1 MKII. Digital photography became a big part of my life, i started printing my own work on different Canon Pixma pro printers, I was able to sell some prints but printing and sharing my work got me involved in event photography for many years. I never set out when I started digital photography looking to photograph events, i just wanted to improve my photography, digital photography made it easier to post process files and make prints larger than the ones I had made in my film days. Printing my work was the best decision I ever made and having my work framed and displayed around the house brings me a great deal of satisfaction. As time passed my camera collection grew to include Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic and Nikon cameras my last purchase were the ZF and Zfc, i always wanted a Fujifilm XT3, I bought one slightly used from B&H photo loved it and picked up the XT5 AND XH2. l wanted to add a Nikon but it had to be different than what I had and the ZF was that camera, a camera that truly brought me back to my film days in a modern digital design and the ZF and Zfc were the cameras to get some manual focus lens, for this i chose a few Voightlander prime lenses and now my collection is complete and I can die a happy photographer. I want to be buried with my Pentax K1 MKII and my Nikon ZF. Happy New Year.
I couldn't find my digital audio recorder while making this video. I had to use the audio from the phone's video track, and I cleaned it up using Adobe podcast enhance. It actually cleaned up the background noise, but for some reason it added a scratchiness to my voice. So much for A.I.
its not that bad to be honest, i cant really hear the scratchiness.
The sad part is, that these cameras do not have AF fine adjustment which was available in K10D in service menu (not very usable) and started to be standard in great K20D (2008) which is still quite usable camera and is the first Pentax having CMOS with Live View, which is superuseful for manual focusing of old lneses. It is also weather sealed. Lowend line got AF tuning feature much later in KR for the first time. First cameras with video were K7 and KX. AF fine tuning is quite crucial for DSLR, because phase detect AF is not able to overcome lens/body tolerances and especially with large aperture lenses it is very visible, how photos are misfocused and need some correction. K20D has memory for 20 lenses which became standard for all hi-end bodies while K100D, K200D, Km, Kx do not have such option and once you attach lenses like FA50/1.4 it is almost miracle to have correctly focused photo with them. It usually is off by several centimeters on every portrait you take. so instead of focused eyes the thin DOF is in nose or ears area. The only way how to fix this on these bodies was to send both camera and lens for service to align them. And then you changed camera body and it was incorrect again, because different tolerances. But with K20D, K7, K5, Kr, K30, K5II, K50, K3, 645Z, K3II, K70, K1, KP, K1II, K3III you can simply go into menu and set +/-10 AF compensation for every lens, do some tests to find correct value and problem is solved. Concerning AA batteries, all those K7, K5, K3 cameras can be powered by battery grip that holds either other D-LI90 or pack of 6xAA batteries. But to be honest, my K20D from 2008 could do 1400 shots on one battery and that same battery even now is still capable of doing over 800 pics. In general pack of fresh 4xAA NiMh 2500mAh in K100D will do over 1600 shots before they need recharge. K100D has no magnesium body. It is low-end with glass reinforced plastic. First light alloy body was K7.
Not sad at all especially for the ones who like to tinker like me. I have one. If you take off the bottom plate, there are three tiny screws you can turn to adjust the AF. Clockwise to fix back focus. Counter clockwise to fix front focus. This trick is doable from the ist D and even to the K3 if the back or front focus is more than what the menu can offer. I calibrated mine once on the K100D Super and it works pretty great with my fast lenses.
Can you tell me more about the CR-V3 batteries. Why don't you use them?
Maybe the ones I got have issues. Same old story from Amazon, you never know what you're gonna get buying from these Chinese vendors. I usually buy Wasabi power, but I've had problems with their batteries not holding a charge for my Sony A55.
@@Gr8Digicams I have the same problem. I bought CR-V3 for my Pentax K100D Super, but they won't charge even though it says rechargeable on them.
Do the firmware update and you can use a SDHC cards I use nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries they last a long time on a charge make sure you clean the battery contacts in the camera they sometimes cause the camera to act funny like the batteries are dead . I have the Pentax istDL & The K100D cameras I have owned both cameras since they were new and I have a number of autofocus screw mount lenses that work fine on the cameras
The Pentax K100D Super eats SDHC without any update. I use 32Gb card.
@@paullulav8242 There is K100D and later introduced updated K100D Super. Two different cameras. Although hardware is mostly identical, there were some slight changes and they have different firmware. K100D does not support SDM lenses and does not have sensor shaking for dust removal. K100Ds has these two features and also SDHC support..
Rechargeables lasts forever, but only with the low self discharge type batteries, Panasonic Eneloop or Ladda, which are the same (Eneloop) but rebranded. Although the battery indicator shows battery depleted (this is a well known flaw of all AA powered Pentax DSLRs) in fact they will last for months.
Ok, I didn't know that, thanks!
Sony sells a product that is proprietary and discontinues production of the "Memory sticks" ... Since they do not license after market sticks you might as well toss the camera in a dumpster. Sometimes new old stock things turn up in small numbers on line but not often enough to rely on. Never buyin another Sony anything.
I agree with your sentiment. I don't buy anything Sony that is new, I get them 2nd hand. I had a projection TV that we paid over $1k for years ago, it died right after the warranty was over. No recalls, no nothing. I was pretty angry. And I also agree with you on the memory sticks, however I bought this cheap point and shoot camera just to see how well it did. It was a steal, only $5 from Deseret Industries (the Mormon thrift store), came in the box with manual, memory card, and even batteries. So not a big loss if the camera didn't work. Lastly, if anyone needs to find these special proprietary memory cards, they are easily found online (Ebay, Amazon, shopgoodwill.com). Thanks for your comments.
Subscribed. Hope to see many more videos on your channel.
Thanks, I'm working on it. I didn't realize the effort it takes to create/edit videos so that they're interesting to watch. I'll try to get better, with better content.
i just bought a sony cybershot and i dont have a memory stick for it yet. do you think a micro sd to memory stick duo adapter would work? Also does the sony cybershot use the original memory stick or the pro duo?
all i can find online is memory stick pro duo
I don't have a lot of experience with Sony's proprietary memory cards, I would suggest you check Google and do your own research. That's what I do when I can't figure something out. Even with my car, if I have specific problems, I search google or duckduckgo, and even better, check UA-cam for answers, there's always someone who knows.
I have used the pro duo micro sd adapter with one of my other cameras and it works fine.
When you showed your early morning shot, I stopped the video and thought wow thats so amazing. Then you said "not to great but still kinda artistic". Its funny how we rate our pictures worse then they actually are because we lost the objectivity
I guess we are our own worst critic.
Cabrón está chida
IKR?
Hello do you have tele conversion lens?
If so how do you attach it to the camera?
Sorry, I don't know anything about a conversion lens for this, I haven't researched that in depth.
the results of the picture is very good and interesting🎉
Thanks. I still use this camera occasionally, it still takes incredible photos for a camera so old. As long as you don't use it indoors without a flash.
How do you upload the pictures on a iPhone/macbook?
Buy a multi memory card reader on Amazon, one that would take a Sony memory stick pro. Just search Amazon for "Sony external memory card reader", or "magic gate memory card reader" without the quotes... You should be able to use that with an Apple macbook.
@@Gr8Digicams thank uu
I bought one also from goodwill, but my camera is dead it turns on but all my pics are black and no viewfinder/monitor view either
Wow, sorry to hear about that. I got mine at shopgoodwill.com, actually a pair of cameras. They both work, but one was in worse condition, it had a non adjustable cracked viewfinder. You never know when you buy these older cameras.
@@Gr8Digicams then it was you ive been bidding against on anything e-20 or e-10...lol, since then ive got a working e-10 and e-20 also from the same site. got batteries from amazon + charger like 17$
@@DJZofPCB Yeah, you never know, it could have been me on Shopgoodwill bidding against you. I've found that people are sneaky and will wait til the last 2 seconds to outbid you, I've lost many auctions that way, but then again, the high bidder bid A LOT more than I was willing to pay, so no real loss.
Nice camera :-). I like older digicams and have some Lumix cameras in my collection, but no TZ1. Use them most times for landscape photowalks. With greetings from lower Bavaria
Thanks. I paid too much for the camera at Goodwill, but then discovered what a great camera it is for 5mp. Blown away by the great color and sharpness, and its build quality. FYI, wish I could go back to Germany, I was stationed there when I was in the military. Did a lot of traveling, and even visited Neuschwanstein. Love the German food and culture (and beer), especially the Weizenbier. Someday I will visit again...
