American Hay Man
United States
Приєднався 2 січ 2024
Matt joined his dads hay farm in 2019 and has helped grow the north central indiana operation since. We primarily grow alfalfa/orchard grass mix hay for horses. We hope to bring entertainment, education and fun to you from our experiences.
New Equipment Coming From Kentucky
Have been looking for another rake to add to the line up and finally found one. I can't wait to use it this up coming hay season!

Spreading Gravel or Rocks?
Переглядів 63312 годин тому
We call it pea gravel around here but I think it is technically rocks.
Picked Up More Skids
Переглядів 28714 днів тому
We have a tendency of ruining skids so I got some replacements. I do not know the exact count but they should last a while.

We are getting closer! If we could get a few more things done, then this machine can go make some money!
Gotta Let The Hay Breathe!

Had to install ventilation on the shipping containers to keep the hay fresh. Just about ruined my knee doing stupid stuff!
It All Goes Up in Smoke!

Had a great day with the family cutting and splitting wood! Cut down a couple large ash trees and took out some innocent maples.

Season has ended and now is the time to clean things up. Comment if you want more video of the skid steer rework. We have been working on it but it's not easy to film.

Wilson Almost Waited Too Long
Переглядів 1,9 тис.2 місяці тому
We took gamble that Wilsons field could be baled later in September. Little did we know that a hurricane would push us into October. The weather cooperated and we got it baled!
Last Field of The Season For Me
Переглядів 5282 місяці тому
This field is the last one that I will make small squares. Timing couldn't have been better to get it done right before the rain hit! Drove equipment home in the rain.

Nice Rake
Good video and nice looking rake.
How permanent is that temporary fix?
Until it doesn’t work anymore 😂
Good video.
Love the sound of the truck ❤
Might not be a show winner but it continues to get the job done!
Thanks God ❤
I cut a lot of pallets up sometimes and burn them in my wood stove
Definitely makes good stove wood. Just gotta deal with the nails.
Good video.
Pallets are a handy way to keep hay off of the dirt. Definately prefer the skid steer for moving anything around!
Agree! Tractor worked better in that situation because it was soft and kinda muddy. Skid steer would have made quite the mess
I think it's amazing to see a machine that was new when I was a teen coming back to work some more!
Back when things were built better!
@@AmericanHayMan You are right there!
Good video. Are you going to make a video comparing the conventional and the inline balers? And the pros and cons of each one.
Absolutely!
That's not old school baling
It never spun out .my ford f350 would push it across the road into the ditch with ease
I'll call you next time!
😊😊😊
Love it ❤
Tractors are more difficult for me that the skid steer.
A++ for intro drama! 😂
I can be dramatic sometimes...
Old style is when you throw the bales up on the trailer.
Old school is when you scythe swath and gather.
How many bales/ bundles fit in those containers? What size are they container's
I can get just over 20 bundles in there. This time I left air space for the circulation.
The containers are 40' long and high cube.
Good video.
“ the A.W.C, anti wasp club” wilson im DYING 💀💀💀 as dad walks like a mafia boss with the spray
Had to show them who's BOSS!
Glad y’all work together with your daddy. We did the same with our daddy. Enjoy all the time yall get with him because when they are gone your heart fills empty. Love your show and thank you ❤
Good video.
What is ideal bale length for the bale baron?
Manufactures recommendation is 32-34". By the time the Baron squeezes and ties the bundle then they are basically 36" bales.
Satisfying! ❤
Good video.
I went through this with my Gehl 5525. The water pump was the same as an Isuzu diesel engine. Between rodents and rigging it's always an electrical adventure on any old equipment. For auxillary hydraulics you can usually tap the line coming from the pump, and put in another valve on a T fitting.
Enjoy all your videos. Lots of good Hay
I finally took the time to view your first video.
What moisture are those bales being October hay ?
15% and lower. They turned out perfect!
Thank you ❤
Love the videos and keep them coming. Love your bale baron
I always enjoy your videos.
Could you show the pole you have off the 4230 holding up the hydraulic lines etc, I really like that idea! Great job with the videos!
That is for holding brake lines on a semi. It has a spring in the base of it so it’s flexible.
You got all kinds of action shots! I like that camera!
Thanks!
Always good to make Hay in October
it almost looks like your doing spins at 9:33 😭
Might have to go old school on some of that.
Good video.
I have had attachments where I had to loosen the couplers to connect them. i invented a rig with a special pliers for relieving pressure on quick couplers. I have been told many times I should have marketed this!
You should market that idea!
That would be handy
Be careful not to get that pig ring caught in the string
That would be as silly as that comment.
So amazing brother , Very modern equipment ❤❤
JIT ☔️
At least you have seasons. It's still hot here and a hurricane is coming. The rain is so intense now I hope my roof does not collapse!
Good video. This is the weather forecast that we always get, "sun and clouds and maybe a stray shower". Do you sell your hay by the bale or by the ton?
That covers it all! By the bale. We specialize in small squares.
@@AmericanHayMan Are you going to give a review comparing the inline to the New Holland baler?
Good video.
Quality and satisfying, beautiful!
I hate those hidden 1/4 inch hydraulic hoses. My way of testing is with a hand pump but if I see any hoses cracking I just change em all. Another reason I own a hydraulic crimper!
That’s on my list of tools to buy. Those fittings are the expensive part!
@@AmericanHayMan I reuse a lot of my fittings by cutting off the ferrule and just replacing that! Generally though the 1/4 inch fittings are cheap and not worth reusing.
Unplanned footage 😂 #sweetheartbalesbest
I think I could have been more dramatic. Missed opportunity.
Hay ‘24 Pretty satisfying!
