The Charlotte Lee on the 'Lee' family grave was my 5x great-grandmother, Charlotte Lee (née Cross) who was actually the daughter of William & Sarah Cross, who donated the land for and were buried on the grounds of the abandoned Methodist church at Hartley, S.A. which you covered previously. Charlotte died at the residence of her son, Ephraim Lee (my 4x great-grandfather) on 13/01/1905 from exhaustion following a long train ride from Nhill to Jung during sweltering heat, she was 85 years old. I visited this cemetery while coming back from a trip to South Australia in February 2023, and the shed was still standing then. Most of the families buried there were inter-connected, owing to the community being so small back in the day. Many of the Acklands and Bakers married into the Lee family, and vice-versa. I have a great photograph of the wedding of my 3x great-grandparents John Leitch & Ella Lee in 1909, taken on the verandah of the Ackland house, which was on the Main Street but burned down many years ago.
