Help Me Fund A Musical Short Film
Donate Here: www.gofundme.com/f/help-fund-my-thesis-a-musical-short-film
The film HOW TO DEAL WITH FAMe follows Lannie Daniels, a young masculine-presenting actress who has been given the role of a lifetime as a character who looks quite the opposite of her. When her mother comes to town for the show and their values begin to clash, she is reminded of how she falls short of the traditional expectations of womanhood. It has mother-daughter tension, it has a fantastic dance number, and most importantly, it has the most gorgeous of outfits!
In short, this film is a quirky musical about clothes, but as someone fascinated by research and scholarship, it is the creative culmination of my deep dive into gender performance, the restrictiveness of self-expression and how that impacts desirability and assumed preferences. Additionally, I am specifically looking at this from the perspective of Black women.
So as you can imagine, I am very much looking forward to this musical full of Black people that I'm making with my homies, but I need your help to make it happen! We are currently raising funds to support the production of this film and would love for family, friends, and anyone just interested in seeing this project come to life donate what they can. Your donation will help fund: music studio sessions, costumes & props, catering for cast & crew, locations and rentals, and post-production fees.
All donators will be thanked in the film credits and below are our donation tiers that express our gratitude for your level of support. Thank you and if you are interested in following the journey as I try to make this grand gesture of a film happen, you can visit my Instagram [@ikespeaks] or the hashtag #FAMe
