I’m back! Quick review after some use of the CSB Single Column Personal Size in Saddle Brown leather. This Bible is definitely my daily driver now. Can be found here: www.christianbook.com/personal-size-bible-saddle-genuine-leather/9781087782683/pd/782686?event=ESRCG
I’m still around, I promise! Also, CSB fun

The ESV Cambridge Diadem
Переглядів 3892 роки тому
Just received the ESV Cambridge Diadem from Evangelicalbible.com. This highly awaited Bible truly delivers. I can’t wait to see the calf split and calfskin versions as well!
First attempt at a cover swap

I found a Cameo for $5 with a bad cover and decided to try putting a new cover on it. Not bad for a first try.

My thoughts on what publishers should focus on in reader’s editions.

An E! For Effort 😅
Hi Matt! Been trying to get a hold of you. Give me a call or email when you can!
Hello brother Thanks for the review. I jist purchased as a special gift to myself and it's beautiful and does encourage longer reading time. Blessings to you and your family 🙏
Where in the PNW? I need friends
Wow I just caught this! Great rebind! You need to make a full video of that! That reminds me of the repairs we would make on skateboards and Converse back in the 1990s.
Dude, that was awesome! Liked the goals! That notebook on your desk caught my eye: is that cover filled with pictures you pasted on, or did it come like that? Kind of got me thinking about my sketchbook. It's so bland, I should think about customizing the cover like that...
Thanks for sharing your goals. Joe inspires in such a gentle way, I'm a big fan. Walking with the family sounds wonderful, I especially hope that happens. Peace and grace to you.
Like it
I have this, but in the calfskin edition. It's a great Bible. Bible publishers, more KJV's published in paragraph format please.
It’s ok the apostles didn’t wear socks either 👍
That’s a nice looking Bible and a great price too. Thanks for sharing.
I have the he reads truth but would love the two you have
Can you share the Bible’s I want to get them thanks bargain Bible hunting
Good to see you back, Matt! That's an awesome, well used Bible you got there. I like the notes, highlights and the stickers. But you gotta sheathe those dogs! 🐕🦺🌭🌭🐾🐾
I remember this care package! I was giving out the GOOD stuff like socks!
Still cracks me up!
Come on, People! Show Matt some love with a SUB! Especially since he's now given us Blue Steele!
I'm using the Single Column Wide Margin CSB for my NT reading currently and love it! Nice to know the compact edition matches.
Weird timing: I just watched your ESV Cambridge Diadem video about an hour ago. Glad you're back. I like the look of both of those CSBs; did you get them through CBD or direct from Holman? Or somewhere else?
If I remember correctly, I got one from cbd and one from lifeway. They both tend to do great sales.
𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓶𝓸𝓼𝓶 😱
Nice.
Thanks
Dude you're sowing. What do I think? Totally awesome!
It was the best feeling. So zen.
Have you ever tried off brand 'field notes'? This looks really cool.
Actually the red one is just a moleskine from Office Depot. I’ve also used the field book off brand ones from amazon too. They all seem to work pretty well.
More videos!!
Interesting. I wonder if those chapters called for in the ACNA lectionary for 2/29 show up again (in sort of their normal sequence) later in the year? I guess I could check mine. Which, I'm sort of wishing I'd opted for the hardcover as well. Thanks for the video response!
That is totally cool! You should make them and sell them!!
That would be super fun. I wish I could do that.
That's pretty clever! I don't use a journal or organizer at all. In fact I'm not organized, at all. But your improvised system is pretty cool. (And I like the idea of snail mail, but am lazy about sending it.)
Thanks! I probably look more organized than I am ha.
Premium bibles (and those who exclusively promote them on U-Tube) are the "new" money making "Cottage Industry.' I will eschew the "wow! a new Allan bible!" crowd and stick with folks like you, Joe St. and Scott for bible talk in the "real" world.
Great discipline in your spiritual walk!
Beautiful hardback, Matt. Agree that single column adds to reading and thought comprehension. Love the cover art as well.
Cambridge never disappoints.
Thanks for the reminder that a nice hardback can be equally as beautiful as leather one. Nice!
Glad I could help!
That brown leather cover looks good! I have the same relationship with the NRSV, I know what I love and what I don't so I stick with it. Nice BCPs!
Hi Matt... Joe said I MUST check in with you... So here I am! ... Also at home as caregiver for my son.
Thanks for stopping by. At home dads unite!
The IVP somehow finds my hand like a (very fat) cat finds a lap. Haven't yet calculated the date of Easter but it's nice to know I could.
That is one great thing about the 2019 is they just laid out the dates in a chart. The IVP really is the perfect size tho.
I'm using that IVP Common Prayer this year. I haven't dug into my ACNA prayer book much, because I like the IVP so much. And I so much agree with your assessment of all the options. Will keep your family in our prayers.
I definitely think those two are my favorite thus far. Thank you for your prayers!
Global size. That means they are long enough to circle the equator. Those are the longest socks Ive ever seen in my life. And McGee? Who knew! Its funny in care packages how the oddest, most random things hit people! That puzzle should be fun with your family too. Its an easy one, only about 50 pieces. That diadem binding is totally awesome.
Thanks again for the haul! The odder the better. The socks cracked me up. I thought maybe I got a shot of my feet in one of my videos! Glad you like the rebind. Took me a backbreaking 5-10 minutes to do. 😆
@@SteelesReels You got it!!
You do rebinds?
Apparently haha. I just tried it out and it worked. Never done it before.
@@SteelesReels that’s cool though
Those Cambridge Bibles are real nice! Its hard to understand just how nice unless you're holding one in your paw! 🐾
So true. I’ve heard people worried about Printcorp, but it’s unwarranted in my opinion.
Dude, that's cool! Great rebind!
That really did turn out great.
Wow bro that's so cool, where did you learn how to do this?
Thanks bro. I learned from wayyy too much time researching Bibles, haha.
You are a brave fella! Not sure I'd ever try this, but the results speak for themselves. Nice work! That India paper is very much worth saving.
Thanks, yeah I just really wanted to save that Cameo and it was stronger than my fear of messing up, haha.
That's a good job. You're more courageous than I. Those CPB blocks arent that great though, so that was a wise move.
Thanks! I kept wanting to read the Cameo, but the cover was just turning to dust.
I've never seen that one either, but the dustcover itself is worth the price of the Bible. Near picture of Cambridge!
I normally can’t stand dustcovers, but this one seems to want to stay on.
@@SteelesReels Thats like the Oxford reader edition NRSV you reviewed. I keep the dustcover on because it makes it!
@@joest.eggbenedictus1896 Alas, mine was missing.
Just picked one up recently, it's quickly become my favorite KJV. Just wish the ghosting was better. I have the Penguin paperback as well which has more opaque paper, but no notes.
I gotta have my notes.
@@SteelesReels Same, I actually had the paperback first but got the hardcover for the notes. Plus, I love that dustjacket!
@@ThriftStoreBibles I am among friends haha
That looks like a very nice bible. One I've not heard of. Very interesting, indeed.
Very much agree. I prefer a hard clothbound book. When I'm reading in bed or relaxed on the sofa, trying to hold a leather, floppy bible is like trying to carry a toddler to bed who doesn't want to go to bed.
These also make my bank account happy. Ha
@@SteelesReels Testify!
Lol
I picked that one up a couple months ago new, and love it. I use it for Bible studies every week. Im glad I found it, and appreciate the hard cover.
My preferences have definitely changed over time with what I look for in a Bible.
6:01 Pencil For The Win!
Blackwing and Mitsubishi are my current faves
@@SteelesReels I'm fixing to post a vid soon of my favorite pencils. Thanks for reminding me.
Fun to get in on the ground floor (as they say) of a new channel. I just recently started posting bible-related (mostly) videos also. I really love the look of that BCP. I've been tempted by that, but ain't pulled the trigger yet. Nice work, and keep going!
Thanks for being here! I was tempted to start one before, but figured it wouldn’t take off. Now I’ll do it either way. The acna bcp is great if you don’t mind esv. I also like that it uses the new coverdale psalter.
Saw your post on Joe's video. This is a nice collection! Congrats on the first video.
Thanks! I plan on posting more. You have a great collection yourself.
