What is most chilling to me, is that Bill, despite being a sentient and living person, he's not mortal. He doesn't have the same emotional complexities like Ford does, or the same emotional range like mortals. He's a demon, deviated from evil. So while he has affection for him, he might not be capable to comprehend how his actions do harm for their relationship and how he might be the reason Ford is withdrawing from him. These two are doomed from the start. He's the kind of person that when he does get into a relationship and cares, he's toxic in a manner that he doesn't mean to be, but still is toxic regardless and his poison is harming him and Ford.
