Ep. 23: 13 Things You Must Do Before Starting Carnivore
Wow!! What a generous offer from the heart!
I remember them when they were in stand alone stores in all the malls before they moved into the Dairy Queen’s. In the beginning of the 70s, they used real orange juice, malt powder, and a raw egg if you paid an extra 10 cents.
Those ones were the best! Thanks for Watching
Honey totally invalidates carnivore. You've lost your credibility. Honey has 17 g of carbs/tbsp. Why not use erythritol?
@ernestbarch2976 I'm sorry you see it that way. I don't use erythritol because I will not use artificial sweeteners; which, in this case, is most commonly made from fermented corn, not to mention the fact that it tastes like @$$. I am not advocating for someone to eat this daily but if having a treat that is slightly sweetened with honey once a month can help someone stay the course overall, then it is a net positive for them. Look, we are not vegans here, so it is stupid to attack one another for not being "Carnivore Enough." Besides, the threshold for a hyper-carnivore diet is 70% so even if one were to have this daily, yes it would affect their weight loss goals but they'd still qualify as Carnivore. I agree that when starting Carnivore, people should stick to red meat and eggs for the first 90-days or until they feel their healing is complete; after that, working in other whole foods is fine as long as it doesn't affect them negatively & the vast majority of their calories come from meat & fat.
Had a friend who owned an Orange Julius stand in a mall. It was a drink. She asked me to run the stand a few times (I worked at a jewelry shop across from her stand).. Basically orange juice and vanilla pudding powder ran through a blender. I don't recall anything else. That was like 50 years ago though.. LoL!
Oh! And a handful of crushed ice.
Thanks for sharing!
I had a Orange Julius. Tasted like carbonated water that some orange rinds accidentally fell into
Sounds like you got a really bad one, they shouldn't be carbonated at all. The original recipe is OJ concentrate, milk, sugar, vanilla & ice. Hard to replicate without all the extra sugar, this recipe is also very similar to an Orange Cream.
@@CarnivoreHunters yeah that's what I was hoping for but I got it at the airport so you can't expect much
Oh yeah, you can't really judge anything by an airport version of it. I had a bad ribeye at an airport restaurant once. I should've known better than to order it, but it was a long layover.
First time u grinde that meat it’s perfect for Sausage
We used to make them with a package of Carnation vanilla instant breakfast and frozen OJ.
There's a bunch of ways to do it. They used to sell a powdered mix in the produce section of grocery stores too.
Hi. I would love to eat ribeye steaks everyday but $$$ keeps me eating whole chicken, whole eggs, cauliflower most of the time, frozen fish fillets, shrimp and canned fish sometimes. I did cut out bread, pasta, ultra processed foods and smoking 4 years ago. Doctors told me there's no real big significant numbers showing improvements blood clotting wise. My blood works always just showing I'm genetically predisposed to clotting. My blood pressure can vary drastically throughout the day from 110 just waking up to 200 while exercising. I hover around 130-150s during the day. Not good. Hoping the many blood clots in my body dissolve and help lower my BP.
I would reach out to Laura and get her advice. She really wants to help people and she has been an amazing friend to us. She has help me a lot and kept me motivated.
Yum. Monk fruit is horrendous
I don't know how people use it.
You hit the nail on the head 👍 Muscle weighs more than fat. Keep doing resistance exercises, it'll help you have a better quality of life in the long run. Up until about 9 years ago, I took care of geriatric patients in a nursing home. It's sad to see how many patients lose their ADL (Activity of Daily Living) or ability to walk because of muscle atrophy due to inactivity. Lookup "Functional, Stabilizer Muscles and Compound" exercises. My girlfriend even got me into yoga to help my blood pressure. Like you said, you don't have to bulk up but you do want to keep your muscles from shrinking, joints lubricated, stay flexible and never lose your abilities to walk and ADL.
Great feedback. Thank you for tuning in. :)
Great Live. Hopefully I'm able to catch more if I'm free. Definitely look into Lumbrokinase and Nattokinase enzyme supplements. I started taking those different times of the day in combination with my blood thinner Eliquis which my Dr. said there's no harm in it after blood testing every 4-6 months over the years. Besides dissolving blood clots and helping to keep platelets from sticking, there's many other benefits to these Kinase enzymes 💯
Are you doing the carnivore diet and if so, have you seen any improvement with the clotting?
I thought I was healthy going to the gym 4 days a week doing free weights, deadlifts, pullups, pushups etc. trying to stay strong for my 2 physically demanding warehouse jobs working 16 hours a day. My body is more of a strong farm boy than that of a body building meathead. I was strong enough to lift a 250lb package on my own and regularly lifted 150lb packages everyday loading and unloading tractor trailers. These blood clots set me back some and I'll still try doing my best at everything I do....I just gotta be mindful it's going to take a long time. I'm no spring chicken at 46 yrs old LoL IDK if I'll ever be as strong as I was 4 years ago.
@@emilja.4205 I thought the same thing. I started going back to the gym just a few months ago myself at age 56. I'm not quite where I was in my 30's and 40's but I'm confident I'll be there soon. :)
Just know that Mexican vanilla has cinnamon in it, ALWAYS.

Great job! I just celebrated my 30lb weight loss by rucking with 30lbs in my pack. I walked 4.4 miles. It allowed me to reflect on my weight loss with gratitude and appreciation. I plan to do it once per week.
That's awesome and encouraging. Thank you for watching.
That is massive
It is a beast. Thank you for watching.
My issue with the lockbox when i looked into them is not only fhe expense, but they are not water resistant. I went with a trailer tongue box instead. I had to move the propane tanks forward an inch or two to allow it to fit.
That bothered me at first as well, but then i realized that no batter box is water resistant. Thanks for watching.
I love my RV lockbox. I used it for a pair of lead acid batteries. When I switched from lead acid to lithium, I moved the lithium battery inside the pass through storage and I’m now using the lockbox to store 3 sewer hoses.
I thought about moving my battery inside as well but my pass thorough is smaller and the self heating battery seemed like a better, turn-key option for me at this time. What brand are your lithium & are you happy with the switch?
I built the battery myself about 5 years ago and it has worked out well.
That's awesome, I'd love to learn more about how to do that myself as well. Thanks for watching.
Did you also have to upgrade your on board converted/charger to accommodate lithium? I ask because of your on board converter/charger is not setup for lithium, the it won't fully charge your battery when you have shore power plugged in. Thanks...I have been looking at the Li Times batteries for my RV as well.
Fortunately my rig came Lithium ready, so all I needed to do was change the setting on my Solar Controller, which was very easy. I haven't had a chance to really test out the Li Time battery yet but will be getting out for a long weekend in a few weeks but reviews on it seemed positive and they offer a 5-year warrantee so I'm hoping they live up to their reputation. Thanks for watching.
How kind of you gentlemen! God bless you and your brother. You can do it, Bill! Do it, Bill!! 🙏❤️🙌
Thank you for watching! 👍
Hey, I've got that same Stargazer pan. I use sunflower oil, though; maybe I'd use canola. It was a special gift, but I tend to use my carbon steel pans more often; they're lighter and more responsive; I use the same seasoning techniques.
How do you like it? I'm lukewarm on it so far. On my Lodge I had years of seasoning built up that I just haven't had time to recreate with this one, so I'm hoping it will get better with use as my Lodge did. I use Avocado oil because it is a bit healthier than seed oils and has a higher smoke point. I do have a carbon steel as well but it is a bit smaller & I'm generally cooking large portions. I should pull it out and play with it some more though. Thanks for watching
@@CarnivoreHunters I do like it better than a standard Lodge for some reasons. The handle is much better, the steeper edges help contain better, it is nicer to pour out... Little things, but if you use it all the time it may be worth it to you. I didn't have trouble seasoning it. So my Lodge is generally sitting in my closet for when I need multiple big pans at the same time
Used to think like this.. now id say a man that can afford to pay people to do things he could do himself and does, is a great man. Providing work for other people, can be life changing for some. Would like to believe thats a bit better than doing things yourself on principle. (Teaching kids hard work is good is something else, let them help out the paid help!)
While I would love to believe that someone is is using the Valet for altruistic reasons, but since the invention of Valet Parking, that has happened exactly zero times. Valet Parking is there for people who are; 1. Lazy, and 2. Wanting to flaunt their money. Those people to whom you refer as great, typically tip like crap. Pretending that paying others to handle your business is "good for the people" is like pretending that someone in Congress actually cares about their constituents. At one point I'm sure they did but once they got the job, it took them all of about six months to get corrupted & now all they care about is losing their power.
Love this!!!
Thank you.
You are - Old fashion.🤓
I'll take that as a compliment. Thanks for watching
@@CarnivoreHunters Why?
Why would you think it is a bad thing?
@@CarnivoreHunters Why would U think it’s a good thing?🥸
I guess I was raised to believe to handle my responsibilities and that it was no one else's job to take care of me or my family other than my own. If that is a bad thing, so be it.
YES! Change your diet
Seems like the easiest solution, doesn't it?

Are those deer summer sausages?
Yes. I was recording another video and thought that this would be a good side show.
@@CarnivoreHunters I thought so! This brings back memories of my dad harvesting deer and bringing home summer sausage. I haven't had any in years. I bet it's delicious!
Terry Clarke (AKA Outdoor Maddness) is awesome🤘🏽 I bought the same trailer. If you put a couple pillows on the pull down bed, the mattress won’t fly off. I installed a shelf in the cupboard too, doubled the storage.
I agree. His video helped a lot in my buying decision. Actually, I drove out of state to get this one. Thanks for the top on the pillows, I'll have to try that. I did already get some bungee cords over the mattress, but it is kind of a pain to get them on with the garage door closed. Enjoy your new rig!
I use to run both Pit Boss thermometer probes on my smoker in the same item and get about 10° difference. I switched to a Meater…problem solved.
Yum
Thermometers needs to be calibrated every so often.
Hunting is proper human behavior. Carnivore is proper human behavior. Spending time in nature is proper human behavior.
And all of those things make for the BEST life!
I just cook liver in tallow. I add salt.
Are you a radio amateur ? I am :-) I'm on a big ranch down under and I am very much a part of the Regenerative Ruminant Revolution. I'm also a hunter from a young age. 7 days without beef makes one weak.
I was a Radioman in the Navy. I've always had an interest in getting into ham radio but don't know where I'd find the time with all my other hobbies. I had a guy offer to sell me his stuff a few months ago and I turned him down.
@@CarnivoreHunters Amateur radio is where it's at. Happy Days.
This was an absolute pleasure, fellas! Thank you for having me on the channel ☺️🥩🖤
It was a blast. Maybe we can get down under someday and meet you in person. We look forward to speaking with you again.
I'm eating cashew nuts, grown overseas countries, no labour laws, child exploration, yea, affordable, this is the way how the west hold down the third world
🫤
Thanks, so many ways to do this. I keep the pan ripping hot and after dumping, or soaking up, any excess grease, go straight from fire to Hottest water with a chain mail rag or sponge and clean like anything. Then a quick rub with a splash of Flaxseed oil all over. Leave on hot grill to cool.
I have a softball sized lipoma under my right arm. I jokingly asked the doctor if I lose weight will it get smaller and he said it is highly unlikely. However, I did not ask if autophagy could reduce it. Many on carnivore fall into a fasting pattern triggering autophagy which breaks down and recycles old and abnormal cells. It appears your body is consuming your tumors this way.
Love those knives, very affordable to replace blades and the size and curvature of the blade bodes well for all methods of processing animals!
Thanks for watching.
IMO steaks taste best cooked in airfryer
Yeah, my sister doesn't know how to cook either. 😝 I'm just playing with you. Thanks for watching.
I forgot to mention I used the chicken setting on my air fryer which equates to about 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
How do you reseason a pan?
It really depends on how bad the foundation is. If it is really bad, I would take a orbital sander to it to get off any flaking and/or rust, then rinse the pan. Then preheat the pan on the stove to open the pores of the pan. Spread a small amount of avocado oil in the pan , similar to this video and place upside down in a 450° oven for one hour. Then shut off the oven, leaving the pan in the oven with the door closed until the temperature comes down. Then repeat this whole process 2 to 3 times.
😀
Thanks for having me on again.
Any time! I really appreciate your help.
As a former night shift worker that worked all over with other night shift workers on Asphalt plants, I've seen and experienced alot of what you mentioned are side effects. Saw families fall apart, people crash on the way home, had a guy have epileptic seizures on the job, another guy get so low of vitamin D deficiency that he got very sick, moodiness, you name it! It's the most unhealthy shift a person can work.
For sure. I should make it back to a day shift in a year or two.
I buy the cancer thing. I worked as a night shift nurse and I couldn’t control my blood sugar. I had no resistance and nurses eat terribly, at least at night. I have been retired since 2018, and things are better. But you really need the sun and to get out from under the artificial lights. Listen to Dr Max about lights and circadian rhythm
@@Mimi_745 I have my blood sugar pretty well under control. I eat mostly sardines and home made, sugar free jerky during the night shift. I'm usually up by noon and when the weather is nice I like to work in my yard so I think I'm getting enough sun. Thank you for your feedback. Are you on the carnivore diet?
FINALLY!!! SOMEONE USES AVOCADO OIL!!!
