Mary's Study Journey
Приєднався 29 тра 2022
Hey guys! It's Mary Xie and I hope I am able to help you guys through my learning journey! I post Python coding problems of the week every Sunday, tips on standardized tests, my experience, and productive day videos! I also have 83 AMC math competition problem of the week explanation videos. I have also created a website, herstemjourney.com, that is dedicated to exploring the importance of STEM, breaking gender stereotypes, and providing resources to help everyone achieve their goals and open doors to opportunities. There is a series of interview videos with the motivation of providing inspiration on my channel as well. Thanks for watching!

Recursion Series Episode 1 - Done
Are you working somewhere in software field?
Great job, as always, keep it up! Just a small code review: in the "if-else" block from line 223 to 230, lines 226-227 and 229-230 are the same, therefore they could be taken out of the if-else block, and just keep "if" as lines "223-225". Also, I know it's probably not required here, or it could be more advanced, but some verification of the input / try-catch if you try to substitute a letter in the hand that does not exist, that would be good. It's a best practice for more complex code 😁 Keep it up, I love these series

Nice explanation
Is this beginner friendly? I just started doing some programing for like a month now and I'm mainly interested in Phyton and some databases languages like SQL.
I would say this is pretty advanced but I am actually starting a new series for beginner coders! That series will probably come out towards the end of summer :)
great explanation
thank you!!
Wth? You are so beautiful 😳😚
I can’t wait to become a computer science engineer 😀
I'm excited for you! :)

Promo'SM 😑
If women want to break gender stereotypes when it comes to male dominated careers, then the women need to focus on blue-collar male dominant jobs like construction, auto mechanic, plumbing, electrical technician, welding, and heavy machine operator, just to name a few. Modern women today (2024) only want to be in the smaller white-collar male dominant STEM jobs that involve working in air conditioned offices and sitting on a chair.
Hopefully your channel grows a lot , i just got it recommend and it looks really great 😍
thank you so much! There are new videos every Sunday!

Finally the algorithm gives me something useful on the actual night before
glad I could help!! These were just a few tips I wish I had known lol
Out of all the ACT videos I’ve watched, this was the absolute best. Thank you. Keep up the good work. And may God bless you!
Thank you so much I really appreciate it!!! :))
Good problem but I wasn't able to completely comprehend the logic of why the initial formula you wrote works. I had to manually come up with a formula for any number of the list and then derive the median
thanks for the feedback! If you have any questions you can email me and I'll try to help you the best I can!
Good
Don't stop doing these!
Very detailed and confident in front of the camera. My suggestion is practice more or your draft notes or just speak freely that way you don’t have to think about your next words.Keep going and you are doing good 👍🏽
Good job
thank you!!
Wow! nice consistent work!
Thank you!
I think I'm going to give you a shoutout. Your channel for math competitions helps people in competitive programming too like in usaco
I GOT HERE FROM MATH SORCERER!!
binomial theorem ftw
You're really academically capable and bright. BTW I'm gonna take the ACT after 2 days(Dec 10). I'm currently in the fall of 10th grade. I want your advice. In my practice test I scored around 32 in Math, 28 in Eng & science and in low twenties in the reading section. I was unable to manage my time in the test(including math). What do you recommend me about time management? Any strategy and tip you used the most out of ? How can I improve my reading score? How can I get decent score( above 30) as possible? I'm looking forward for ur response.
Hey! Thank you so much! Your scores are already pretty good! Time management is a big issue when taking the ACT and I used to struggle a lot on it too. If you want to check it out, I made a ACT tips video where I went over a lot of tips and strategies. I started off by reading the books I mentioned in the video and grasping the knowledge. Then I started just taking practice times while timing myself. For example, in the reading section (which is also the section I struggled with the most) I gave myself an equal amount of time for each passage and tried to finish it in the time frame. With practice, it will get better! For more detail and book suggestions that I found really helpful, please check out my ACT tips video! Here is the link! ua-cam.com/video/M1r-VQi6lu0/v-deo.html

These are great scores for a Sophomore! Assuming this is the actual ACT and not the PreACT, you can keep taking it and get an amazing superscore! Good job and good luck
Thank you so much! This is the real act and I plan to take it a few more times!
Fascinating problem and easy to understand explanation.
Thank you so much! 😊
