Continuing Down the Silver Coin Trail - Aussie Beach Metal Detecting - Minelab Manticore
3 weeks ago, I headed down to a local beach to do a spot of metal detecting. I had been to this beach before, and had previously found a few older coins and other interesting objects. This time was no different, except I uncovered a lovely older Australian silver Shilling, the single coin I have the greatest difficulty finding.
Given my previous success, I grabbed the Minelab Manticore and went back to see what else the beach had hidden away. It was a pretty successful night!

I Thought I Had Picked This Beach Clean! Minelab Manticore and Coiltek 18Mythtek
Переглядів 6499 годин тому
In our second outing with the @Coiltek 18Mythtek metal detector coil, I decided to head back to a beach I've hit really, really hard in the past. This beach had yielded a lot of lovely old silver coins in the past, and I wanted to know if there were more buried in the sand. It turns out there was, and as usual, the 18 inch coil found a lot of deep targets other metal detectors had zero chance o...
Introducing the Coiltek 18 Mythtek for the Minelab Manticore - Aussie Beach Metal Detecting

I'm always on the lookout for anything that gives me an edge metal detecting, so when I saw @Coiltek were releasing a new coil for the Minelab Manticore, I had to jump on it! This new metal detector coil is 18 inches across, and is designed to detect finds much deeper than I've ever detected before! I really wanted to put this coil through it's paces, so I decided to head back to the old nudist...

Great stuff again. Totally agree about finding old coins in relatively easy spots. Usually means hasnt been picked over. I would also be keen to see your tumbler setup
I think a few people are curious. I'll see what I can put together.
You mentioned tumbling. Maybe show us your technique for that once it starts getting into the wet.
I'll definitely do that!
well put together vid,not sure about that big coil.
Thanks! It has definitely found a few deeper targets, but I think the big advantage right now is the huge sand coverage I'm getting. It seems to be much easier to properly cover large amounts of sand in a shorter time. Only time will tell how good it is in the long run though!
Nearing 1k subscribers!
🎉Almost there! 🎉
Great find
I was pretty happy, even though the condition was poor!
@SunstateMetalDetecting anything from WW1 and WW2 is very dear to a lot if not all of us.
Absolutely. I hope to dig a lot more similar history really soon!
You’re catching me on the Goldie’s. 💪
Slowly but surely!
Ive just discovered your channel and enjoy watching your videos, thanks for the inspiration that you are giving me.I detect on Kangaroo Island.
I really appreciate you jong us! Kangaroo Island would be a wonderful spot to detect. I might get there one day!
A good hunt 😊
Thanks, Paul!
Super hunt! Great to see the 18” in action. Tossing up between the Manticore and Deus II to re-visit some sites which have rewarded me in the past when swinging the first xterra and more recently the Nox.
I rate the Manticore highly. Now I have the whole spectrum of coils, I'm ready for just about any location or situation. I previously ran with the Nox 800, and a Whites Surfmaster PI2 before that. The Manticore still picks up so many targets in locations I hit really, really hard with the other detectors.
Good job we should get together for a swing one day i am apart of metal detect Queensland 😁⛏️👍
Hey Gary, we definitely should. Shoot me an email (in my channel About page), and we'll tee something up!
やっぱ金属探知機ちゃんって可愛い❤

Nearly 1k so far this year.
Doing well!
I couldn't see the toy car clearly but I think it is a model of the 3 wheel prime mover used by British Railways in the 50s and early 60s.
It sure is! They were used quite extensively across Europe in the 50s and 60s.
The Light you used was Perfect.
I think it's a nice little upgrade! I'll definitely be using it a lot more, and I might even bite the bullet and get a second just in case.
Another great Video.... In Brisbane I found $187 in Coins at a Browns Plains Park in 2 hours. I was using a Whites 6000 Di Pro. Metal Detecting is the best.
Great stuff!
Drugzzzz
Yep, and lots of them
Hey there. I enjoy following your adventures every week. I'd love to see a video of how you clean up all your finds. Very curious. Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks for the idea! I'll see about doing some sort of tutorial down the track.
Thanks for sharing from down under, enjoyed your video my friend. Hello from USA.
Thanks for stopping by!
Great video my friend.
Thank you kindly!
Cant win them all buddy Better luck next week. Im off to a local beach near Geelong tomorrow. Hope its productive
I hope so too! 🤞
I think it’s a backing plate of the kitchen thermometer brass plate was tacked on to a thin piece of timber Does it have a number scale stamped into the face?
There aren't any numbers or markings, but some sort of measuring device definitely makes sense!
This object has been identified by a viewer as being the face plate off an antique fish scale set!
Another day at the office!
Yes indeed!
Now thats what I call a trashy site !!! I recently got onto an old house site. Dug down 300mm through tree roots to dig up an old door hinge so I know how you feel. Stiil - the yearly running total for you is looking good. Better luck next time buddy
Thanks Mel! I've hopefully got some awesome sites lined up that should push that total up nicely.
nice vids!!
Thanks, I'm glad you like them!
oh lol i thought it was gonna be like some old washed up trash
Ah, the story of my life!
Love finding Dog Tags. Nice find. What's the oldest one you've ever found. 1907 was the oldest one I've ever found. Take Care
Most of mine are quite new. The oldest was about 50-60 years old. Thanks for watching!
Mate I just subbed to your channel, love your content, keep up the great work 👍😊
I appreciate the sub! Thanks for your support!
Looks like a piece of copper tubing from an ac unit.
Very possible!
A few deep targets there made you work for them
They were deep! I suspect this beach had about a metre of extra sand on it.
Congrats on the 2 Cent Coin. Take Care
Thanks for watching!
A viewer has identified this object as the end of an old safety razor!
Agreed 💯
My bet is that this is an aircraft part, prob. from WW2. All those crashed planes, bits of flak, MG bullets, and scrap metal had to land somewhere.
You could be correct. There are records somewhere of a WWII plane making an emergency landing on a local beach somewhere after being damaged.
@@SunstateMetalDetecting Maybe I'm weird, however I've always been fascinated by thinking about the final destination of many thousands of crashing aircraft, millions of machine gun bullets and aircraft/human body parts, and billions or trillions of spent flak artillery fragments in almost all of Europe. Also, aircraft debris landing on the beach or near off-shore will eventually end up on a beach someplace. This is to not even mention the shit that was falling out of the sky intentionally.
7.26 you have the top of a safety razor.
That makes a lot of sense! Thanks!
Which mapping tool do you use?
It's a mish mash of a few tools. My main ones are Google Maps for Streetview and maps, Google Earth for Satellite Images, GeoResGlobe for Lidar height maps and property ownership info, and finally qImagery for aerial photography. GeoResGlobe and qImagery are provided by the Queensland State Government and the State Archives, but most other Australian states will have their own versions.
@@SunstateMetalDetectingI am on the Sunshine Coast but I know that I need to be a bit more scientific to avoid the obvious hot spots that have been dug to death . I enjoy your style of video. Cheers Jess
Thanks Jess!
I half expected you to pull out something ridiculously crazy that was clearly planted there to try and get views. "I found Jesus' gold chain he was wearing the day he was resurrected." 😂
lol! 🤣 There's nothing fake about this channel! Every find is as real as it gets.
boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
Boom! 💥
Looks like a number plate bracket
I hadn't thought of that! It very well could be.
I've never lived anywhere that has had an abandoned building.
A shame, some abandoned sites can make for great treasure hunting!
good video, thanks for showing
Thanks for watching! 😁
Very nice find. Beautiful Coin. Take Care
Thank you kindly
My man, that looks like a cock ring
I suppose it does 😅
Those shouldn't sound as good as they do. I've dug in a lot of obstacles like yours. Sagebrush here can be tough to get to you spot you want to dig. Take Care
I guess the shape must make them sound so good. Thanks for stopping by!
I agree with that.
New subscriber and T/U 46.
Nice to have you along!
Nice Video.... I live in Brisbane near Enoggera Greek and I found the old Gold Mine and Rock Crusher.. Not to long ago, I found $192 at WALLER ROAD PARK in Brown Plains Brisbane in 90 Minutes with a Whites 6000 Di Pro. My Detectors: FISHER Gold Bug, Minelab Equinox 800 and a Whites 6000 Di Pro.
Nice results! I have a few old abandoned mines near me I'll have a go at one day. They're only coal mines, but you never know what you might find!
Congrats on the Silver Coin. Take Care
Thanks, you too!
That is a (S) C ring
Good to know, thanks! 👍
I think you got it!🐔 ring😂
@@NANA4bacon 💯

Nice work mate have a look at metal detecting Queensland hope you like it 👍⛏️😁
I'll check it out!
Great Video again Kieran. I'm surprised you find any coins at all at an old nudist beach seeing how they had no pockets !!! hehehe
I've always wondered that myself! I also wonder what the Catholic Sisters would have thought about their beach being used for such purposes after they left!
Boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
Let's go!
