I play a mod for this game as well Dawn of Ishmeria that updates the gameplay a bit that you might want to check out if you're a fan of the game, all in the same playlist. Xcom was a great game as well, have a series of that too, I want to get back into that eventually for another go at Long War.

Very neat, I think through experimentation I found something similar when I was younger. Plasma shield on the last level is almost mandatory :) Hope you enjoyed the video.

The biggest thing is getting money, I recommend doing the Arenas as they can get you some good gold. Even just exchanging your Silver, Gold tokens to Bronze to make it easier as lower levels

Cheers, I'm glad the video helped, yeah, my settings are very odd, it's a complaint I hear a lot of, yet, with a mixer and higher gains, I haven't been able to perfect how to get my voice louder yet. I'm always experimenting with how to do it though.

A game on steam called Table Top Simulator It's fantastic to play and try board games. Lots of fan made mods and paid mods too.

Yeah, I've played a lot of it, so far though I haven't encountered any crashes/freezes other than pre-1.0 release. It is a lot of fun.

@@DraemondDoesGaming I am playing on Xbox. I have heard the PC version is much more stable because the game was created for PC and not very optimized for consoles.

I am enjoying Pathfinder 2e, we're doing a monthly session of that and it has a lot of elements of 4e that I love.

Yes, after some looking I did see that there was a Royal Blood 2, unfortunately, no English translations that I could find, so I won't be able to try it out. It does look interesting for sure!

Yeah, I've heard, I've only played the SNES version though, as that's what I had growing up, there's another person I follow who has done some on the Genesis as well. If only they made a second one rather than just ports of the same game :)

No problem, when I heard about being able to do this, I thought it would be good to do some setup videos. Takes some time, but very worth it.

Agreed, this game was so unlike anything else at the time, a fantastical grand strategy game that a 10 year old can understand to get going on.

I don't mind the other Koei games. I found Nobunaga's Ambition as a 12-year-old and fell in love with it and Three Kingdoms, but yeah I love Gemfire a lot as well. I was hoping it would become a series. I guess it didn't catch on.

And yes I know this is the snes version. But there was a pc port too.

@@ErikN1982 Yeah, I wish they made a sequel, there's just nothing else like it, and if only there was a few tweaks to the game, it could be played for a long time (but here I am, nearly 30 years after it released still playing it at least once a year).

Yeah this setup piece was a long process. Video 2 showcases that and in total it was probably close to 10 hours in total setup. Well worth it in the end though. The audio I don't know what's going on there. I'm boosted to about 150% on my end when recording and when I'm playing with friends they hear me fine. I wonder if it's the audio proccessing itself when I upload to youtube. One of those things that I've continually tried to fix with new mics/mixer/software but still seems to be an issue. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any on it.

You know what I think it is the audio processing that youtube does, I went back and listened to each of the videos (basically I record with OBS, use handbrake for audio processing, then movie editor to splice/edit video) each of those files, I'm much louder than what is on the final product on youtube. I'll have to play around with the youtube settings since they have a big backend for editing on the uploads themselves which I'm not the most familiar with.

And just like that I figured out the issue... my videos are coming in at around -30 to -40 db when recorded where you want them to be around -10 to 0, so I need to figure out a way to get those boosted without getting them all crackly and distorted. I'll have to try to work on that at some point but will more than likely require a change in what I use to processes my vids on my end.

Hey, thanks for the questions, 1. Nope no penalties aside from wasting a turn 2. It depends, if you target the Home province (where the leader is) you can get a choice of vassals under them to defect to you, whether they're assigned to a province or not. 3. Unfortunately no you cannot, that would be awesome if you could. 4. Again a no here, there's no experience system unfortunately other than for the leaders. Leaders can grow or decline in stats with age and with winning/losing fights too I believe (marginal at best) 5. The only differences between the 4 scenarios is what family's are in power at that time in the games timeline. There are no different objectives. It's always be the last family standing and unite the gems. 6. Thanks for the support and watching the videos I really hope you enjoy them.

@@DraemondDoesGaming Sorry but one more thing if I may: "Changing a territory's lord to "You" means that the ruler of the family will control the territory remotely from the Home province. In game mechanics, this means that the territory gets HALF of the bonuses of having the actual lord. Unless the head of the family has absolutely absurdly high stats compared to everyone else, a territory will always be more productive with a real lord." From gamefaqs. Does this count for when you attack with a remote controlled province as well or does the game act like your char moved to the frontline from the home province? Is it better to set some other lord to a frontline territory before attacking?

@@Alianger Nope there isn't, each province has a "pool" of 5th units that they may or may not be able to recruit at any given time. No way to influence it that I know of.
