Ford 5.4L Spark Plug Thread Repair Using Cal Van Part #38900
Переглядів 4 тис.3 роки тому
Easy thread repair using the Cal Van 38900 spark plug repair kit. $234.99 is a little pricey but it will last forever and won’t blow out like the auto parts store repair kits. Doing this with minimal tools to show that anyone with basic knowledge can repair blown out spark plug. Your supposed to use an air or electric ratchet and c clamp on boring and tapping and cutting oil .
air ratchet!
That's awesome! Glad that you sorted it out!
Did you have any issue after start up? I just did mine on a 01 5.4 but I have a slight misfire now. When I put the plug in the insert it seemed that the spark plug electrode wasn't down far enough to fire correctly
no, it ran really good. Do you think it could be something else? Have you tried to track down the cylinder that is misfiring to make sure it’s the one you fixed
@@mikeytrysit5012 yes I actually figured the problem out, when it was broke down I left the hood up one day and it ended up raining before I could shut it, turns out cylinder 8 coil was shorted out due to the moisture. While I had it off I tightened up the spark plug which took a good 1/4 turn to tighten it back down. That plug would've been the next one to blow, for sure. Runs great now, no issues at all.
Also, the plug I fixed was cylinder #1. It's been doing great and hasnt caused an issue since. For anybody reading this, if you're sceptacle at all, let me reassure you this fix does work if you follow the directions.
