Over the years this land- just outside of Mansfield, Ohio- has been a country resort, Boy Scout camp (the original camp Avery Hand location), and Christian camp (Mowana). This land will soon be moving into its next phase of life, one ...

I had heard rumors of an extensive bicycle network across the UK so I packed my bicycle up onto an airplane and flew there from my home in the USA to check it out for myself. I was not disappointed! Check out www.sustrans.org.uk and pick yourself out your own amazing bicycle adventure!
Elevated: An Uplifting Community

Most people ride elevators simply for convenience- but then there are others out there, like Andrew Reams. Andrew is a self proclaimed "Elevator Enthusiast" whose unusual hobby began nearly two decades ago. Having filmed more than 2,000 elevator rides, Andrew is now the center of a growing worldwide community of other Elevator Enthusiasts. His extremely popular UA-cam videos have received tens ...

I went 2 this camp for 9 years and was a counselor in 1978
Very interesting history! I remember going to Camp Mowana in elementary school for a program called outdoor education. I don't remember getting to see the falls back then, but a friend and I recently went to go see it.
I LOVED THAT CAMP......WOW.
One could say that going west across the Intl Date Line, you go from Western Hemisphere to Eastern Hemisphere, while if going east, the opposite holds true
I experienced that just yesterday bu I am just a kid . But you know what doesn’t make sense I was filming a wheelchair lift in the Eaton centre in Montreal Quebec, but when security guards came by, they never said anything but then I stumbled upon the security guard who said I’m not allowed filming but what I don’t understand is why didn’t you guys tell me this before or why did the security guard to tell me this before?
Hello! I am from brazil. Do you hAve any taito model made in brazil? Taito was the most important manufacturer in brazil till 1985. Many brazilian taitos were bootlegs ( copies) from bally, Williams, gottlieb models that were succes in usa
Would have loved to spend an afternoon there playing ‘70s EMs : (
I worked at Camp Mowana in the summer 2017. It was a wonderful experience in my life. Missing camp Mowana! Love from India.
Such noble intention. Very sad.
I have so many questions and it's amazing that you pulled this off with the cool video editing. -You didn't use padded shorts? How did you handle keeping your rear end in riding shape? -No Waze in 2003...how did you navigate? -How did you fund the trip?? -Showers?
The song is wrong. If you travel from Kyoto to Hawaii, you are crossing from West to East. An easy way to remember this is that the I in IDL also stands for “Increase,” and the L stands for “Lower.” Since we are travelling to the “L” side, the date *lowers* to Friday. Likewise, if you travel from Hawaii to Kyoto, you are travelling from East to West (the “I” side), so you *increase* the date to Sunday. Thank you!!
Brilliant video, nice one!
Are you a Demorat btw???
Great spot

This movie is SO INSPIRING! You did such a great job of capturing the true bike touring spirit. I loved how positive you stayed during the entire trip, regardless of how many bike problems you faced. Also, I think it is so cool that you were able to film all of this with one of those cameras from back in 2003. I felt nostalgia while watching it. This is definitely one of my favorite movies that I have watched on youtube.
Nice! I film elevators as well.
Nice job : ) thank u for sharing
Op
I worked at Camp Mowana in 1999 for the Summer and the experience changed my life.Miss you Kathie.
Nancy Pelosi is corrupt garbage
i’ve been friends with Andrew on Facebook for years. not even an elevator fan, but i can support his cause. i can also say he is one of the kindest people in the world and has one of the biggest hearts. we need more Andrew Reams in the world
Great video on important history.
Thank you for this excellent history of Fleming Falls.
I like this documentary.
Is it only me who is in 2019 watching this????
yes
Really enjoyed your film saw so many places familiar to me you showcased cycling in the UK very nicely.
This is awesome documentary about DieselDucy and the elevator community! :D
Ima miss my dear camp I go to! I'm happy I can hear the history of the camp I love and go to.
i did not know that.
Great video, Sustrans are great, their sign placement isn't always the best but i think they are getting there. Nature some times covers their signs so a compass and good map always help. thanks for the video
#elevatorphotographersarenotterrorists
I don’t film elevators yet but I have a YT account
nice route and also nice video edit, really cool to watch :)
Double decker bike! Great vid
Great video. Was wondering if your bike survived the airplane ok? I'm thinking of taking a couple of bikes over to UK this summer. Any recommendations on type of box, or is the cardboard box just fine?
I used just a regular old cardboard box I picked up for free at a bike shop (both in the US and then another one in London for my return trip home). On the return trip my bike frame was slightly dented. That is part of the risk of going the cheap route. They do sell hard cased bike transport cases but then you have to figure out somewhere to store the thing when you are touring around. Good luck to you!
Love the stealth camping eventhough sadly it's illegal in England. Great adventure.
what? the fuck!?
GREAT JOB MATT C!
As Mayor of Mount Rainier, I highly recommend the Bike Coop as a place to build community, get to know neighbors in the biking community, get in some community hours for school, and to learn how to build or work on your on bike. I recently wanted a bike and the Bike Coop was my place of choice to get a bike. It is an awesome bike that I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy. HELP US KEEP THIS WONDERFUL FACILITY in our community by donating time, money and service. THANK YOU.
Matt, besides the flats, how come you had so many repairs?...what were those repairs (2) broken spokes and a pedal? what else? And how come, was your bike not new or in good condition when you started? Also, you must have had thin tires...did you?
Did you do all the camera shots, too?!? ie set up the camera, film, then go back for the camera??? the film is great!
Thanks. Yes I did shoot it all myself. I would often times set my camera up, ride by, and then circle back and pick it up.
well, thtas a really fine vid!
Nice job Matt! Glad to see these guys get there due.
What is the correct word for an elevator enthusiast, as used in a dictionary?
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Классный фильмец. На 2 минуте понравилась вращающаяся обувь! Супер!
when you went through Indiana. Did you use US-6 ?
I'm so jealous of you!
Just plain terrific!!!!!!
I love the international
