Give 'em the ole Razzle Dazzle!
Fun day flying with friends!
The only downer was the GoPro that loves to overheat even after lowering the resolution.
I think it's time for some more horsepower to increase the climb.
I'm just glad it cut off after the train horn "Razzle Dazzle".
This plane is way too much silly fun!

Thermic landing!
Переглядів 9907 місяців тому
For the first several hours of 03/03/2024 we were completely fogged out! Hanging out and chatting led us to delay taking off once it finally cleared mid morning. Thankfully Jeff said he was going for it and the rest of us followed. After a short while we all got rocked pretty good by the increasing thermals and decided to land. This is my landing where an unexpected bit of lift caught me by sur...

Life is strange and the weather can be tricky. Coming back from a grounded streak, it feels amazing to be back in the air! Quick rough edit just for fun and to jump back into Resolve.

(09/03/2023) I've been pushing myself a little more lately to progress beyond the plateau of ability I've found myself hitting. Getting a bit more aggressive with my wing-over practice is rather exhilarating! (Second version of the edit to flip a couple shots for a better representation and feel of the experience.)

Sundays are best spent with great friends, light winds, and clear skies! It's been a while since we've all flown together so it was pretty rad getting the gang together. Tons of fun ridin' the ridge!

The quarry is one of my absolute favorite spots in calm conditions. It's a ton of fun just ripping and dipping into and out of the dig.

Recently another video of mine got wayyyy more exposure than I expected. If I had known it was going to pull so many views I would have put actual effort into it! After some consideration and talks we came to the conclusion it was the title. So, here we are.... (still though 5 minutes of effort in this clip, ha!) I'm assuming people enjoy the quick short clips as I do? Leave me a comment on you...

Another no frills quick clip of one of my absolute favorite local spots. It was getting a bit later in the morning and a little dicey down low but this place always makes me happy!
Nil wind worth it!

It's not always rainbows and butterflies and I try to keep it real and in perspective with what I share. This morning was absolute butter, meaning no wind at all, absolutely perfect for paramotoring! These are amazing conditions to fly but can be tricky to launch. Every bit of wind makes it easier to inflate the wing and gain lift. In nil... it's all you champ. Turns out that party balloons play quite the trick on the eye when seen from altitude. The initial sighting of the first balloon I thought it may be a low aircraft or drone, then I saw the second... maybe FPV planes... MAYBE ALIENS?!?!? Nope, plain ole party balloons. Legit thought, the way that the wind carries balloons, it'll throw your perception a skew. (Captured 05/31/2023)
Spring Wing '23 (edit #1)

I had an absolutely incredible time at Spring Wing 2023 flying with friends from Campbell field on the Eastern shore of Virginia. With so many amazing moments, it'll take several videos to show some highlights of the day. It began completely overcast and misting then transformed into a full range of conditions. Having some fun on a "meh" weather day! Not the ideal conditions to fly but I made the best of it considering the next several days are supposed to be nothing but rain and wind. The old Pioneers are the coolest!
Cool bro!!!!!!
Nice phantom I have one and this ultralight is just like a real airplane flys amazing.
I have the same trouble. I made a heat sink that slides in the battery compartment, and then I plug in an external power bank. That usually works.
@@19sloper I ended up swapping the SD card and that fixed my issue.
@@SeeCoryRun Good. I did that too. It helped but didn't eliminate the problem completely. Darn things are finicky.
hmm, I like this plane. What plane is it? I assume it's FAR 103?
@@BlackWarriorLures yep, a Phantom ultralight under FAR103.
Is a phantom ultralight and yes 103
Looking awesome! Such a cool plane. Hoping Santa brings a new GoPro or Insta this Christmas to you!
@@john.french me too, I heard he's been shopping, haha!
My first ever landing, it was about 6mph winds. I landed, plopped down on my butt, and the wing just hovered over me until I pulled it down. Any landing where you don't break stuff is a good one!
#pipergang ftw!
I can tell how much you want a new wing by how close you landed to that fence.
Wouldn't be the first time, haha!
Welcome back
Kiting back to the car! #epic
Dudeeeeeee!
Nice Cory..Insulate that thing and make sure to run some outlets so you can plug in your AC aand other stuff...Maybe some led lights around the top for a nice nightlight :)
He's doing it!
Epic video! Can't wait to take this journey with you on the videos. Keep them coming!
LOW BRIDGE!
Next is to slalom back and forth through it.
Don't threaten me with a good time!
Nice!!! Something on my list too…. Nice video.
GETTING BOLDER MY FRIEND...😂😁👍🙏 I LIKE IT...!!!😁
Epic flight my man! I want an under the bridge flight soon! Lets full send it soon!
Totally!
Nice!
It's always awesome flying with you, my friend!
Nice work. Keep it up. Just subbed.
Nice man! Lots of low swoops and flying high!
The low flying is my favorite!
Get you some bladed shoes and start crop circling 😜👾
When the grass starts hitting your shoes you may want to climb just a bit, haha!
That is crazy, I wonder how high they will go before they pop by pressure!
I was wondering the same!
Oh yeah 👍🏻
I'm glad you identified them. Otherwise, UFO !😅
paramotoring is so dang cool. I've thought about getting into it but it's kinda alot of money to just dabble in the sport and find out i don't either like or i'm scared and can't do it.
It's amazing, but definitely not for everyone. You may find a local school that offers tandem introductory flights. That way you get a taste of what it's like to fly PPG with an instructor on board and without the investment.
Just glad you weren’t taken aboard the Mother-Balloon and “experimented” upon…..
Your friend behind you was ready to go. Kind of him to wait for your reset.
Nate is a pretty cool dude!
What exactly happens when party balloon goes into the para motor or there's strings that get into the parachute part along with it?
They're probably light enough not to do any damage, I didn't want to find out though!
Run Forest, RUN!!!
Then run some more, haha
Disappointed you didn’t catch one.
That would have been funny! I wasn't in a good spot to take chances though.
That was crazy!! Super nice landing too
Drones maybe? Could be disastrous...
Drones were my first thought until I got closer.
You're Lucky......YOU weren't shot down!!!
Watch out for those smaller Chinese spy balloons :)
Damnit China! Stop trying to take out my friend Cory!
Epic landing!
Thankfully they've gotten much better since then, haha!

Wow! Looks like Saturday was beautiful to fly. Nice!
Definitely one of my favorite flights.
Awesome flight! Like the brochure comment at the end. Lol
Hi Cory. Are you flying a Charger 1? By the position of your B,C and D risers, I'm guessing you are on the white stitched line on the trims. Do you take off and land with the trims in that position? Have you ever used your tip steering toggles? If so, when do you use them in relation to your trim settings? I have the same wing which is my first wing and I only have 22 flights and my trims are set below the white stitching and I haven't moved them yet. I'm mostly self taught and having really good luck so far.
It is a Charger 1. I've always launched and landed the wing in neutral trims, on the white line. I've got the tip steer tied into the brake toggles for 2D steering. If I fully trim the glider out I try to only weight shift or pull the tip line itself to make small adjustments in direction. It's a great wing that I still enjoy flying even though I have other wings that are much faster and dynamic.
@@SeeCoryRun Thank's for your input, Cory. That all makes sense. I need to start going in that direction (neutral trim flying)and would eventually, in the next 20 to 30 flights or so, like to tie in tip steering and get a little bit more maneuverability out of the wing. I didn't see any detail in the wing manual for tying in tip steering. I'm thinking I would want to get someone experienced in that area to help with that. How did you wind up setting it up? I'm always super cautious with going to the next stages of flight and definitely in no hurry lol. I'm really enjoying the sport and it's challenges.
You certainly want a decent bit of experience before tying in the tip steering for 2D. I believe the recommendation is 50hrs or something along those lines because it will make it significantly more dynamic. Aviator did a video on 2D that was pretty informative. With the Charger 1 I removed the little "jumper" line that went to the risers. It's been a long time since I did it so it's a little hazy.
@@SeeCoryRun I've only got 13 hours flying time on my gear. Aviation related experience that has helped me tremendously is that I've been flying airplanes since my early 20's. I've been an aircraft owner for the last 18 years (based at KIUA, Canandaigua, N.Y.) and have flown R/C since I was 14. My latest gift to myself was that I went to Kissimmee, Florida last year, to Stallion 51, and flew a dual control P-51 for an hour. I had hands on almost the whole time. I was exhausted after that flight. We were vertical quite a bit. My instructor allowed me to land it when we got back to the airport. I have the video and audio proof lol. I'm finding that flying powered paramotors is just as awesome as all my prior experience and I'm sorry I didn't get into PPG sooner. Thought you might find this interesting. I'll be careful and take all your good advise. Thanks again.
Scoopdiddly doo deeeeewwwww!
1000's of birds a day, can't be wrong. Unzip it, let it rip! Yeah, Im not a fan of this cold flying crap....
Nice quick flight Cory..I would hate to be in the air and have to pee lol.
The last 15 minutes of an hour flight is when it hit me, I think being cold made it worse, haha! @Scuba
I loved the Charger..I trained on that wing...If i buy another wing that will probably be it....good flight
There are several reasons why I call mine "Ole Faithful" and won't sell it!
lolz.. "words" thanks for the comic relief. Audio sounds okay. I dont know if its the gain staging or the mic, but sounds like you are clipping a little. Not bad tho. Kind of a catch 22. Mic has to be touching lips to minimize outside noise, but when its close, you risk clipping. I think it sounds decent. I guess depends on just how good it NEEDS be. I use a microavionics into a gopro, and it mediocre on playback. Best results are of course, overdubbed processed as I would a vocal track for a song. Looking good tho, nice and smooth helmet panning. Order me some Nachos! Piper is so awesome, but so many damn lines. lol
The audio is definitely still a work in progress. I too have the PM-100. I have the mic gain on the high setting, I need to test it on low. I've been using an external audio recorder and syncing it in post with the GoPro using the old fashioned clap, haha!
I still enjoy the very first used wing I got, 4 years ago. I've gone thru a few others, but keep it. When the wind is nill and I've nowhere to go... big ole 27m atlas for my 125lb ass, ftw. You want fun, find a big wing that you are at the bottom of the weight range. THanks for the vid, seems it was a fun day. That wind sock looked like ppg porn.. Blue skies!
I've always wondered why people sell their beginner wing. More advanced gliders are a ton of fun, and if I want to get somewhere quick, the Piper (as you know, haha) has the trim and performance to rip, but it's awesome to jump back on something solid and slow then smell the roses at a couple feet off the ground.
