Steel lego axle, or more of those crank cylinder things that bulk up the axles?
I don't think I used a steel Lego axle, because it will wear out the Lego plastic very quickly..because there are a lot of mechanical constraints at this location of the crankshaft..I'll reveal my technique to you in the next version..see you soon
Have you considered adding a Stephenson link valve gear it would allow for the engine to be set into reverse the link in my experience does not need to be curved if your not using cutoff points
hello, yes I thought about the stepheson order..the problem with this type of order is that it adds too much clearance in operation in the distribution control..I want this engine to be as efficient as possible! I would add a gearbox to have reverse. thank you for your suggestion. see you soon
yep, as I thought. Wish you luck with development, Bud!
thank you very much bud for watching..see you soon for new adventures
You should buy some metal axels, theres a youtuber who makes lego air engines that manufactures and sells metal lego axles, this would fix the problem you have
yes I saw that. however I will develop another technique with Lego pieces, because the metal will wear out the plastic very quickly
Very coool!
Thanks
I think this could be a great addition to your engine, I have this mechanism in mind for your air timer. It's a crank mechanism but the crank arm is a rack thats slides on a pinion, which makes this pinion oscillate, exactly similar to the lever like action air switch. I will share what it looks like: It's on the thumbnail of the video called 'mechanical principles part 03', by the you tuber 'art of rendering'. If you made this connecting rod arm longer and the crank shorter you can vary the swinging like oscillation, to perfectly time the input air of the engine. Oh one final note theres another mechanism I have in mind instead of the crank you used, ( I must admit works perfectly as you shown), theres this other mechanism from this video called: 'Building a more efficient bike' by 'Works by design', this mechanism tries to maximise torque over angle displacement curve, broadening the sine curve of a regular crank mechanism. Finally I think this is a good job! Hope to see more exciting videos like this!
hello thank you for appreciating my work...in fact we can still improve...at the moment I am working so that the crankshaft no longer twists...the plastic Lego axles transmit the torque very poorly...it really needs to be I found a solution for that, especially if I want to add cylinders... see you soon
Use another cylinder to maximise the torque
yes you are right...however the aim of this video is to show the capacity of a Lego 2×11 cylinder on this maximum stroke
This so awesome :D
Thanks you for watching
That's is varry creative 😮
Thanks you
Awesome build! It seems that plastic LEGO shafts are also at their limits when engine produces it's max torque. Also I've a question: Are You going to gradually improve this model? Hope to see it working with 2+ "cylinders" :) Cheers from Moscow!
hello and thank you very much for the interest in this chain...in fact the lego transmission shafts pose a big problem for transmitting torque! However, I have developed construction techniques that will help remedy the problem...I therefore invite you to follow the progress. I will also change the construction of the engine with 2 then 3 then 4 cylinders with different crankshaft mountings! see you soon
Awesome job😁🔥
Thanks you very much...
you are the best
I think the water could be used to cool the working parts. And the engine probably needs to be modified to operate at higher pressure.
hello, thank you very much for watching. unfortunately the maximum pressure admissible by the Lego Technic cylinder is 4 bars... if I pass this pressure it will start to leak from the inside as well as the distributor...
Your dork skills are top-tier!!
hello thanks for watching...this is the start of the channel! he plans to share a lot of my skills
I only just found your channel, but these videos are great! Seeing someone with a firm understanding of mechanical engineering outside of Lego making Lego engines is super interesting, you're introducing a lot of clever fixes for efficiency I'd never have considered myself
hello and thank you very much for the compliment, it means a lot to me...
Hello from Russia 👋
thank you hello to you from new caledonia (south pacific)
@@brickmovement98880 Wow
at 11:14 it sounded like you were in a steam engine room lmao
Yesss.. thanks you
Super ❤
Merci beaucoup !
Flywheel should have more mass. A LOT more.
yes I know, that's why I make it turn faster than the crankshaft! to compensate for the lack of mass!
I can't wait to see this video
Thanks
Got enough bricks to make an online 6 cylinder ???
I lack the bricks to be able to build a 6 cylinder. but I have enough to make a 2 cylinder...in the next video...see you soon
Craft something to attach to it!!!! Urgently!!
The test video will be online Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are located in the world. I invite you to watch it, it is nice
Great! Of course I will! I'm from Brazil
great ! hello to Brazil
Very nice engine. In my opinion, big problem is connecting flywheel with crank by gears, not directly. I bet these two gears would wear very fast. But even now it works smooth :) Greetings!
Thank you for looking and for your technical opinion..I need to build a larger and heavier flywheel in order to have more energy on the flywheel. the pinion technique is precisely to be able to compensate for this problem..see you soon
@@brickmovement98880 I wish good luck with improvements, just keep in mind rigidness of crank-flywheel connection, as it transfers forces in alternating direction. I'm looking forward to see another engines made by you.
@cielakovsky thank you for your answer, I keep in mind that the rigidity of the crankshaft is important..I am currently developing a crankshaft assembly technique which, I hope, will definitively solve the problem and which could be useful to many creators lego engine
I like the use the the pneumatics to create such a high torque engine. Have you ever thought to create a Lego vacuum engine?
thank you, I have never built an aspirated engine
@@brickmovement98880 Before you try to build one, just take some research on you tube, Instagram, or TikTok to see how people make them. There are two main kinds of engines, piston engines and turbines. I'm leave the big info about them to your discovery but turbines get much greater RPM and torque than piston, and are far simpler.
you should’ve made it vacuumed powered
it's true I could have
1 sub ✌✌
Why do people like you act as if you are discovering this stuff?! You just built a pneumatic steam engine. You didn't have to "adjust" shit! You just needed to BUILD A FREAKING STEAM ENGINE in Lego. Get over yourself.
it's still entertaining for the most part..thanks for watching
I was wondering, what will be used as piston. Then I was surprised piston was used as piston. Good video.
Thanks you
Nice!
Thanks
Hey man, can you make a better-looking tutorial? I am not hating you because of the quality in your video, but please? Thx
yes you are right, it's a little too quick as a tutorial...look on my channel there is the complete construction of the engine
Very nice to watch. I don't build with lego technic much anymore, but watching and seeing you design, analyse and modify during the building process makes me remember the good times of building and engineering things with lego technic.
thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it
Very satisfying. Should try and make an inline 6
the next engine will be better...in a next video. Thanks for watching and enjoying
He needs more subs 🎉🎉🎉
if you liked this video, share it
Make the crank longer, the longer the crank is, the more torque
I am at maximum travel of the 2x11 pneumatic cylinder. the length of the connecting rod is also a maximum of this length in relation to the weight of the assembly..😉
It sounds like a techno beat :)
yes it's very nice
now make a lego combustion engine
It must work!😅but not for long
this video really should have more views
thank you you're here.. and it's already cool
How about a V8 engine made out of lego
the next engine will be one....I'll leave you the pleasure of discovering it, it's coming soon 😉
Based on some of the grammar I was waiting for “the design is very human”
I try to be as realistic as possible
@@brickmovement98880 I was making a joke… no harm no foul
sick tut man❤
I know
Wicked build ! Next convert it to run on steam? Could use a g scale train boiler . Maybe power a vehicle with it
steamers with plastic Lego jacks...I have a big doubt..🤣🤣
This engine is really cool!
Thanks you
use the variable valve timing
Yes using variable timing valve
;]
and get creative
Yes
i live in italy so more people can watch this video
I love lego engine and this is why this is the best realistic lego engine i've seen good job partner! ;]
thank you very much, it uses the entire stroke of the 2x11 cylinder..that's why it is very big and torquey
the most of the time i see people making small engines with the parts directly, you make your own parts using the parts that other people used to make yhier engine. gotta respect that one.
thank you very much, yes we have to be creative and make our brain work to be able to make beautiful engines..soon the test video..
put that engine in a car❤
I'm going to try that
@@brickmovement98880 Sick Man

sounds like some kind of beat😅
yes I think it has a beautiful rhythmic melody
