I think that the marketing company does not want to position it for these people because it becomes a "medical" product. It doesn't change the fact that they are great for people with vision problems. People who are interested in technology have them. What's important, they look normal! And not as if they were screaming out of their heads "Hey, I'm blind"! Most of the things that help people with medical conditions look terrible. I hope this product develops in the right direction

I have been told that the EnVision glasses are going to be your best bet for wearables for the blind, as of right now. If you are interested in Envision, make sure to get the Pro model. I am actually researching wearables right now, myself. This is what I've found out, anyway. I hope this helps.

Today I and my sighted friend tested glasses. And instead of buss number it always red buss garasch number. I tryed to recognize those pictures from the AI history and found that be my AI identifies number if I ask it to read iluminated sign. When I tested with Meta AI and bingo, it got that and red the correct number. But if you are deap blind you can not to know about reflections. FOr example if sun's light goes somewhere and reflects thing, witch you want to read, you can not for this reflection. So if you feel sun's warm with your face let's turn arround and try to read something.

Yesturday I found AI history in the Meta view app, So I shared That pictures to sighted people, and in most cases in my pictures buss number doesn't see. So I try from another angle, I made a good pictures, tested them with be my AI and Seeing AI and iphone algorithm, and they red the bus number. They say, that it is on the window, so today I will try to ask to read number on the wi window. Also there is ability to share a feetback about picture. I mean Meta view Meta AI. ,

Thanks for your great video. It answered questions I had after your first video and had some useful tech tips. I'm in Australia and work with blind people and want to trial/demonstrate them with clients. I have ordered a pair directly from RayBans Australia which they said would arrive in the next 2 to 3 weeks. The price for a basic black pair with clear lenses was $449, I got a pair with transition lenses which was $571. There was no delivery charge. I have a question. Can you use Siri with the glasses like you can with airpods or would you have to get out your phone?

G-day😁 thanks for watching this video as well. No it doesn’t seem to call Siri through the glasses, but often what happens if your phone is near enough it responds. It seems like the iPhone is using its own microphone to listen for hey Siri, but not through the glasses. Why I say this is I did the hey Siri thing when I was near the phone, and it worked, but I walked away out of hearing range, and did the same and it did not respond, although hey Meter responded because it was still in Bluetooth range

Hi Carl, I've just come across your channel (subscribed now). Thanks for the great review. I've been an adaptive technology trainer for blind people in South Australia for over 20 years. I mostly train and support people with no functional vision using JAWS and VoiceOver. I've seen a lot of blindness-specific wearable tech come and go. e.g. E-Sight and OrCam. This is the first wearable tech I think might really be useful. Maybe because it's mainstream tech that has to speak to you. In the past 6 months, I've been doing more and more training with AI. I tried Chat GPT first, then Perplexity, now I'm working with Claude as the free version allows you to upload images and the important buttons are labelled for screen readers. In my opinion using AI to access information is such a revolution for blind people. Using Google and then trying to figure out a web page is hard but AI just gives you the information as text. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

Thanks so much for watching. Yes, I’ve only really gotten into AI quite recently, using ChatGPT in my work environment, and then using Be My Eyes and started enjoying the photo description capabilities, and then I stumbled across these glasses, and they just make it more easier using and pulling out your iPhone all the time. Although Be My Eyes gives you a better more lengthy description of a photo scene, or some apps on the phone can read entire documents, the glasses are focused more on quick answers, summarising things, and getting into the information you need quicker. Oh and by the way, I love Australia, I’ve been there twice, have relatives and many friends there, been in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Carl, thank you so much for putting together this informative review. I have a relative who is blind and I think he would find these glasses quite useful. Great review. I, too, hope that they loosen the restrictions on people description just a little bit. Just enough for stuff like hair color, etc. It will sometimes say stuff like a person wearing a green shirt and sunglasses, but still. I do enjoy them for color identification and description of my own clothing when trying to match outfits. Product recognition, particularly in the kitchen, is great as well. I don't use Chat GPT so can't compare them in that way, but these suit me just fine, with the caveat that I want more text read from documents word for word.

I understand the privacy concerns, but realized that by taking a picture I can go off and do the same thing and mostly, I want for my own outfits. I will look forward to future videos and for finding key phrases you may use to get better descriptions of the environment as well as other uses. Thank you.
