Day trip around Warsaw, Poland
**TRIGGER WARNING**
It has come to my attention that several people in the comments have taken issue with my comment that Warsaw "is kind of in the middle of nowhere," with some even attacking my character and education. First of all, calm down, everything is going to be fine, I promise. The only reason I said that was because the closest city is Krakow, which is about 3.5 hours by car. Have you ever heard of Krakow? Eeeexactly, which is why I dared utter such an innocuous yet contemptuous comment. If you can manage to make it past that part of the video without putting on your keyboard warpaint, good. It means you are normal. Thanks again for watching, I hope you enjoy this low-budget production!
In April 2023, spent a few days in Warsaw, Poland. Walk with me as I show you around the city, from the former Communist Party headquarters to the city center with a recent dark past.

What it's like to live in the remote Transylvanian mountains.

This was a cool experience. I spent the day and night in a remote location of the Carpathian mountains in the center of Transylvania helping someone I had just met experiencing what life is like in the cold and without electricity. I had no idea who the guy was or what I was getting myself into, but that just made it even more exciting. For more information about donating to Paul's organization...

    It's always good to do a little research before you say or show anything. For example, the building of the former headquarters of the Polish communist party was transformed into the headquarters of the stock exchange and the headquarters of various commercial companies, an interesting fact, right? Further, the church you showed claiming to be an Orthodox church is a Catholic church and is called the Church of the Visitation Sisters. However, I appreciate your generally positive attitude towards the city. Prześlij

      Thank you for your feedback :) I asked around while touring the old headquarters to see what it had become and I only received vague answers about businesses moving in and whatnot, so I didn't take it as anything too special. But thanks for clarifying! As for the church, it's quite possible that I got it mixed up or it was mislabeled on Google Maps or something. I don't really have an answer for you, but thanks for the correction, and thanks for watching!

    This man has never been to the russian province of Glubinka, for example, in Siberia, so he has no awareness of what it means to be ‘nowhere’. He left his hole and calls a city of almost 2 million with one of the best public transport systems in the world, clean and safe, ‘nowhere’. He probably also calls Poland ‘nowhere’ although Poland will soon catch up economically with the UK. But Mr ‘nowhere’ is a bit uneducated and stuck in 40-year-old stereotypes. Sad.

    • @wherethewindgoes
      @wherethewindgoes 10 днів тому

      Correct, I have never been to Russia because, as an American from a small town of less than 2,000 people (not in the UK), it would be dangerous for me to do so right now because of the war. I called Warsaw remote because it is hours away from any other major or significant city. You see, the term "middle of nowhere" is a figure of speech that can be applied to many places, not just Siberia, which is why I used it in that way. In relation to most other major European cities, it's pretty far away. Thanks for watching! Hopefully, my next video will live up to your standards, so be sure and subscribe to know for sure!

    I like your video. Warsaw is an amazing city that rose from the ashes like a Phoenix after the war destruction caused by the Germans during World War II. In Warsaw, history intertwines with modernity. Beautiful architecture, well-developed infrastructure, convenient public transportation, lots of greenery and parks, nice restaurants with good Polish and international cuisine make Warsaw worth visiting. I disagree with one of your statements that Warsaw is in the middle of nowhere. Look at the map of Poland. Warsaw is the heart of Poland. Then look at the map of Europe and you will realize that Poland is in the center of Europe. Therefore, the statement that Warsaw is in the middle of nowhere is not true.

      Thank you for the positive feedback! It appears that others have also taken issue with my comment about Poland being out in the middle of nowhere, which has completely taken me by surprise haha. I only said that because it's so far away from any other major or significant city, even though it's in the heart of Poland. Krakow is about 3.5 hours by car, so it seems kind of in the middle of nowhere if you are coming from Vilnius and then go to Krakow after. Thanks again for watching. This man seems to see Central Europe as somewhere at the end of the world, unfortunately. Well, I guess that is the education there and the complete lack of awareness of what the world is like.

    What "nazis"?? There was no country called "Nazia". It was GERMANY. Term "nazis" was coined in 60's as a straight up sociotechnical ploy to shift blame and guilt from nation to some mythical as unicorns and fairies "nazis". Dear God ppl around the world took that propaganda like btches. There.....were.....no.... "NAZIS"! I fckn hate to be manipulated and i know when someone tries to yet this... whole world just took and went with it.

      I'm sorry you feel that way. My goal was to keep the video as objective as possible without bringing politics into it (it was also recorded in late 2022. A lot has changed since then and I have also learned a lot more about the region). To claim that my video is Russian imperialism is a major stretch and completely inaccurate. While I acknowledge that Russia has cynical motives for supporting Transnistria, the people living there have their own sense of identity just like any other autonomous region around the world, which is what makes it such a complicated issue. I completely support Moldova in their pursuit of EU and NATO integration, and even if they wanted to become part of Romania again, but at the same time I don't know if I would support forcing the people of Transnistria to completely change their way of living. It's a very complicated subject to which there is no real right answer. Thank you for your comment. I traveled to Ukraine late last year and will be making a video about it soon. In the meantime, you can check out my written experience on my website: www.wherethewindgoes.com/ukraine

      @@wherethewindgoes Sure. I will try to find something in English as it is mostly in Bulgarian but you can also use Google translate. Basically I am referring to the fact that we are taught that the Bulgarian state was founded in 681, hence the monument celebrating its 1300 anniversary. . It is not true. It is much older. 681 is the date of an agreement between Bulgaria and the Eastern Roman Empire. Also Bulgarians did not come from Central Asia but are a local population. Genetic studies also show this.
