How can we find out our true purpose | Russell Meek

The Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes follows the Teacher’s search for life’s purpose. Contrary to what you might have heard, the Bible does NOT teach that life is meaningless! The Teacher (commonly recognized as Solomon) rightly observes that life on this earth has been turned “upside-down” by sin. Why is life such a struggle? And how does knowing and seeking God shape our purpose? Be encoura...

      @user-ranjan0403 Okay. Be it in english or greek... there's no mention of heaven. The air isn't a place to spend eternity. Jesus said on earth as in heaven, and it descends to the earth in Revelation 21. Everlasting is a physical place. Not once is it stated that anyone goes to heaven. That is not our dimension. Otherwise, the body is pointless as well. Which lends to the reason why there is no marriage in heaven. Thanks for commenting.

    I'VE ALWAYS wondered if being what we call naked or were we made in God's image and we were al- ready dressed and didn't know it? For me personally, if I can't wear my cowboy boots and blue jeans I'm not sure what I'm gonna do? No robes and sandals for me! Thank God he requires that I accept the greatest gift of all! Same with Adam & Eve, they weren't aware of their NAKEDNESS until they ate from the Tree of Good*Evil. They then found "Fig Leaves" to cover themselves until GOD*YHWH killed*Sacrificed the 1st animals for their Skins to cloth them with.

    Job's friends got it right at first by sitting with him in silence. We can learn something from that when friends suffer. When my husband experienced a devastating brain injury, my grief was unbearable. The only prayer I could pray at times was whispering, "Jesus." I remember thinking, if I had to comfort someone in the same condition, what would I say? I concluded there were no words. Thankfully, there were believers who came and sat with me and my husband in the hospital, and brought me meals, and loved on us by just being there. The crazy thing is, or providential thing, I was doing a study on Job when my husband was hurt, which helped me to say and trust, "Though he slay me, yet will I trust him."

      Cosnider yourself very blessed. There's a mystery to suffering. Here's 1 Peter 4:1 . . . "Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God." Hold on and "be still". GOD always answers prayers and rescues.

      @todayintheword5641 3 місяці тому

      Kevin, you are not alone in that feeling. Life can be very difficult. And from a human perspective, the ways of God can be mysterious. While our emotions may tell us otherwise, we know from Scripture that God has not abandoned us! In 1 Corinthians 13:12, the apostle Paul (who endured great suffering) writes: "For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." When life feels too much, turn to Scripture. Read through the Psalms which helps us cry out to God. He is with you, even when you feel like He's left you hanging! And nothing is impossible with God! (Luke 1:37)
