You talk about the homestead exemption, but what about the dav exemption for veterans?

What is their online portal to see what is needed for pre approval, especially those of us out of state

I visited "The Villages Country Club Pools" page under the golfthevillages web site. There were 7 country clubs listed. Did you say those 7 are the ones with food and drink? Only the Lopez Legacy pool mentioned drinks by the pool (pool measures 12x19 ft). I have also heard the country club pools are a few degrees warmer than the rec pools. Access to all country club pools for $218.50 a year ($164.50 for 6 months) is a bargain in my book. Of course a $30 bar tab (lunch and two drinks for myself I am guessing) might make me rethink that.

The Developer cares sooo much for The Villages residents having the best retirement- they wanted to attract the BEST AND BRIGHTEST employees and business owners. And the best way to do it is to provide the BEST school system and living environment for them. The Developers had school age kids and wanted a top notch school system for their kids and realized that would have to drive a far distance and that meant their employees would too - so they built a schools system- and now they are building a second. A job that advertises “charter school eligible” means the employee’s kids can go to the Charter School for free. There is a requirement that parents volunteer time in the school. These jobs are either work directly for The Villages, or a contractor that works for The Villages, own a business on Villages property, or work at a business on Villages property. So the children of doctors, tractor drivers, Publix checker, housekeeper at one of The Villages hotels, landscaper all go to the same school!! The Developer has also built 4 “support/family” communities at various locations around the edge of The Villages- this affordable housing for under 55 - you don’t have to work for The Villages but many do. Most are just homes with no amenities, no rec centers or parks- Oxford Oaks is the only one that has a rec center pool. The developer is currently building a whole planned support/family community called Middleton - modeled after The Villages. The homes range from $160,000 and up over a million depending on design choices. They are also about to start building some apartments, ensuring every price range is available. They have their own town square, parks, own recreation centers, dog parks, walking trails and a whole new charter school was built from early education to high school- all within walking or golf cart distance. Again, one doesn’t have to work for The Villages to live in Middleton, many do because of easy access to the Charter school. Just the high school cost the Developers over $500,000,000 of their own money, no government handouts. It’s stunning. Middleton is slated to have 8700 homes. The Developers are also building another support/family community called Coleman Ridge a couple of miles north of Middleton. It’s just homes, I don’t believe any amenities and a lower price point than Middleton. I moved to The Villages - Village of Fenney in June 2020 having NEVER visited. I love it here more every day!! The Developer has made dreams come true that I didn’t even know I could dream!! I love the Developer and am so grateful for their vision and commitment to this community. I have no clue what they get so much hate other than the phrase “no good deed goes unpunished”. I think people hate on other people doing good because it is mirror that shows them they themselves aren’t do any good in the world and it makes them feel guilty. Instead of changing their ways, they just criticize those that are doing good. And NextDoor is total garbage- it’s just a place for many NON-residents, posing to be residents, complain about the Developers and The Villages. And Village-News.com is just a rag started by a woman either a vendetta against the Developers. She used to work for the Daily Sun but was fired due to fraud and embezzlement. She uses her site to discredit, bash, smear The Villages, the Developer and the Villages resident.

There is also enhanced membership for the Country Club pools- they have bar/food service, 2 have hot tubs, and are heated 4-6 degrees warmer than the 114 recreation pools. Fenney recreation center pool has a restaurant and bar attached - so it’s like a country club pool but no enhancement fee!
