He was the most consistent player on the PGA. By being so consistent he was able to get past the cut and get into the money. Yes he did win championships, but his greatest accomplishment was his ability to adapt to the game and be consistent. He was a real class guy and a gentleman. We need more players like Calvin on the tour. These kids born with a silver spoon in their mouth are disgusting to listen to.

The video tile is “GOLD medals”. In caps. As of the video, NZ had one, 2020. They now have two. Fiji also now has two. Four way tie. (Officially, 1908 was the “Australasia” team, so Australia would only have one. But as the entire Rugby team was Australian, we’ll give it to them).

Honestly, this is a "grass is always greener" scenario. What the U.S. has is facilities. Most athletes in the U.S. do not have any kind of funding or support. One of our shotput Olympians tweeted how she couldn't sleep the day before her competition because she couldn't afford rent. This isn't even that uncommon. A lot of Olympians live at or below the poverty line and usually need roommates. You only hear about people like phelps or biles but the money and support they get is from sponsorship deals and being in one of the lucrative sports. I personally was on the U.S. national team. In order for me to get on the national team I had to be competitive at the international level before I could be considered. To be clear, I had to be able to compete at the world level before the U.S. would give me a jersey and their permission to race internationally. Even on the U.S. team I was using my own equipment.

@zesolodar if you were talking strictly men or women, then yea I wouldn't be surprised as US at the number one spot, however combined is a whole different thing. All the great international soccer teams having combined to win less than four medals is surprising.

No one really cares about football or rugby at the olympics, strong teams don't send their best players. Which is why you'll see israel and mali playing football at the olympics but not stronger teams.

@@aridddle I think it's because the men's tournament is Under 23 age restriction, so the superstars from Europe and South America aren't competing. It's probably harder to maintain consistency when you have a whole new team every Olympic games. Either way, I'll take it for the US.
