Five stars. Wonderful event, with moving speeches that witness the value of micro-high schools and a highly individualized curriculum and instruction with supportive guidance. Wow, I would love to have attended LWHS. BTW, Emma's perfect score of 1600 on the SATs places her in the academic elite and surely testifies to the quality of instruction. "Approximately 0.07% of students (7 in 10,000) who take the SAT achieve a perfect score. Since roughly 1.7 million people take the test each year, that comes out to around 1,000 people who score a perfect 1600."

I began to learn the secrets of a successful, happy life in my second year at Stanford University. By the time I received my MA degree at Stanford, I had a good feeling for what I wanted from life: not only the outward symbols of success - money, a satisfying job, and good relationships, but a deep, inward sense of life's purpose, meaning, and joyous possibilities. I've been blessed in all of those dimensions. And along the way I've been doubly blessed to be a witness to 48 of the Living Wisdom Schools' 50 years. In short, what the students receive at LWHS is a deep-immersion Advanced Placement course in the happiness and success secrets that it took roughly 35 years for me to unearth, absorb, consolidate, and activate. I urge every parent to include LWHS among their youngsters' high school options. Success in academics and life happens at school when we are challenged at the highest edge of our abilities and given individual success experiences every single day at school. For 48 years I've seen how profoundly motivated and engaged the Living Wisdom students are, as a result of this very wise approach.

I was delighted to see the new book about LWHS, Happiness & Success in High School. The research is clear and unmistakable: happy feelings in a safe, nurturing school environment that takes account of the students' unique qualities prepare the brain and heart for optimal learning - I thank heaven for the research and real-life stories presented in this wonderful book - let's hope it will influence schools everywhere.

Utterly wonderful - if I were serving in admissions at Stanford I would be looking very hardat the Living Wisdom High School students right now. (I graduated from Stanford with a BA and MA when dinosaurs still roamed the campus; 1964/66.)

Awesome, wish there'd been a Living Wisdom High School in the 1950s! LWHS walks its talk! Other schools claim they give kids a quality education and life skills in a happy, safe environment, but the Living Wisdom Schools have been doing it for 45 years. LWHS has been stunningly successful in the few years of its existence (i.e., the Palo Alto branch). So grateful to know that the teachers and teens are proving the value of a balanced education that brings the whole person - all of their resources, heart, body, and brain - into the learning process.
