Marcus Aurelius (A Wise Emperor) - Epic Roman Music
Welcome to another music video. And It's about Aurelius one of my favorite Roman Emperors. I hope you will like it.
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus was Roman emperor from 161 to 180 and a Stoic philosopher. He was a member of the Nerva-Antonine dynasty, the last of the rulers later known as the Five Good Emperors and the last emperor of the Pax Romana, an age of relative peace, calm, and stability for the Roman Empire lasting from 27 BC to 180 AD. He served as Roman consul in 140, 145, and 161.
Marcus Aurelius was the son of the praetor Marcus Annius Verus and his wife, Domitia Calvilla. He was related through marriage to the emperors Trajan and Hadrian. Marcus was three when his father died, and was raised by his mother and paternal grandfather. After Hadrian's adoptive son, Aelius Caesar, died in 138, Hadrian adopted Marcus's uncle Antoninus Pius as his new heir. In turn, Antoninus adopted Marcus and Lucius, the son of Aelius. Hadrian died that year, and Antoninus became emperor. Now heir to the throne, Marcus studied Greek and Latin under tutors such as Herodes Atticus and Marcus Cornelius Fronto. He married Antoninus's daughter Faustina in 145.
After Antoninus died in 161, Marcus acceded to the throne alongside his adoptive brother, who took the regnal name Lucius Aurelius Verus. Under the reign of Marcus Aurelius, the Roman Empire witnessed much military conflict. In the East, the Romans fought the Parthian war of Lucius Verus with a revitalized Parthian Empire and the rebel Kingdom of Armenia. Marcus defeated the Marcomanni, Quadi, and Sarmatian Iazyges in the Marcomannic Wars. These and other Germanic peoples began to represent a troubling reality for the Empire. He reduced the silver purity of the Roman currency, the denarius. The persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire appears to have increased during his reign, but his involvement in this is unlikely since there is no record of early Christians in the 2nd century calling him a persecutor, and Tertullian even called Marcus a "protector of Christians".[3] The Antonine Plague broke out in 165 or 166 and devastated the population of the Roman Empire, causing the deaths of five to ten million people. Lucius Verus may have died from the plague in 169. When Marcus himself died in 180, he was succeeded by his son Commodus.

This is a video about the Πολυτεχνίο (Polytexnio) being pronounced Polytehnío that we are gonna celebrate tomorrow but I won't have to upload it tomorrow. The Polytechnic uprising was a mass manifestation of popular opposition to the military dictatorship, which took place in the Greek territory between 14 and 17 November 1973. It began on 14 November with the occupation of the National Technical University of Athens by students. Greece had been under the rule of the army since 21 April 1967, a regime that had abolished individual freedoms, had disbanded political parties and had exiled, imprisoned and tortured politicians and citizens on the basis of their political beliefs. 1973 finds the country's putschist prime minister, Georgios Papadopoulos, having begun a process of liberalising the regime, which included the release of political prisoners and the partial lifting of censorship. Also, elections on 10 February 1974, for a return to civilian rule under the revised 1968 constitution. This constitution, however, retained the Army's place in the system of power and its ability to intervene in the political life of the country whenever it deemed necessaryHowever, despite the favourable reception by the majority of the bourgeois political world, the KKE and the PAK criticised the junta's plans as they were a sham liberalisation which would not bring about any substantial changes in the existing regime. The junta, in its attempt to control every aspect of politics, had interfered in student unionism since 1967, banning student elections in universities, compulsory recruitment of students, and imposing unelected student union leaders in the National Student Union of Greece (NFEE). These actions created strong anti-dictatorial feelings among students, such as that of Geology student Kostas Georgakis, who set himself on fire in public in 1970 in Genoa, Italy, in protest against the junta. With this exception, the first mass public protest against the regime came from the students on 21 February 1973. The unrest began a little earlier, on 5 February, when the students of the Polytechnic decided to abstain from their classes. On 13 February a demonstration took place inside the Polytechnic and the junta violated the university sanctuary, ordering the police to intervene. Eleven students were arrested and put on trial. On the occasion of these events, on 21 February, some three to four thousand students of the Law School of the University of Athens occupied the school's building in the centre of Athens on Solonos Street, demanding the revocation of Law 1347 which imposed the conscription of "reactionary youth", as 88 of their fellow students had already been forcibly recruited. From the roof of the building they recited the following oath: "We, the students of the Higher Educational Institutions, swear in the name of freedom to fight to the end for the safeguarding of: a) academic freedoms, b) university asylum, c) the revocation of all oppressive laws and decrees." The police were ordered to intervene and many students in the surrounding streets were subjected to police violence, but ultimately the university asylum was not violated. The events at the Law School are often cited as a precursor to the Polytechnic uprising. The student revolt was also significantly influenced by the youth movements of the 1960s, and especially by the events of May '68. I hope you like and if you are new to the channel I would appreciate if you subscribe.

This is another music video about the Byzantine Emperor Justinian. Justinian I. also known as Justinian the Great,[c] was the Roman emperor from 527 to 565. Justinian is regarded as one of the most prominent and influential Roman emperors, and historians have often characterized him as a workaholic who worked tirelessly to expand the Byzantine empire.[9] One of the most enduring aspects of his legacy was the uniform rewriting of Roman law, the Corpus Juris Civilis, which was first applied throughout Continental Europe and is still the basis of civil law in many modern states.[10] His reign also marked a blossoming of Byzantine culture, and his building program yielded works such as the Hagia Sophia. Justinian was born in Tauresium, Dardania,[11][12] probably in 482.[13] A native speaker of Latin (possibly the last Roman emperor to be one),[14] he came from a peasant family thought to have been of either of Illyro-Roman[15][16][17] or Thraco-Roman[18][19][20] origin. The name Iustinianus, which he took later, is indicative of adoption by his uncle Justin. During his reign, he founded Justiniana Prima not far from his birthplace.[21][22][23] His mother was Vigilantia, the sister of Justin. Justin, who was commander of one of the imperial guard units (the Excubitors) before he became emperor,[24] adopted Justinian, brought him to Constantinople, and ensured the boy's education.[24] As a result, Justinian was well educated in jurisprudence, theology, and Roman history.[24] Justinian served as a candidatus, one of 40 men selected from the scholae palatinae to serve as the emperor's personal bodyguard.[2] The chronicler John Malalas, who lived during the reign of Justinian, describes his appearance as short, fair-skinned, curly-haired, round-faced, and handsome. Another contemporary historian, Procopius, compares Justinian's appearance to that of tyrannical Emperor Domitian, although this is probably slander. I hope you will like it and don't forge to subscribe if you are new to the channel

The Greco-Italian War also called the Italo-Greek War, Italian campaign in Greece, Italian invasion of Greece, and War of '40 in Greece, took place between Italy and Greece from 28 October 1940 to 23 April 1941. This conflict began the Balkans campaign of World War II between the Axis powers and the Allies, and eventually turned into the Battle of Greece with British and German involvement. On 10 June 1940, Italy declared war on France and the United Kingdom. By September 1940, the Italians had invaded France, British Somaliland and Egypt. This was followed by a hostile press campaign in Italy against Greece, accused of being a British ally. A number of provocations culminated in the sinking of the Greek light cruiser Elli by the Italians on 15 August. On 28 October, Mussolini issued an ultimatum to Greece demanding the cession of Greek territory, which the Prime Minister of Greece, Ioannis Metaxas, rejected. In Welsh sources, Arthur is portrayed as a leader of the post-Roman Britons in battles against the Anglo-Saxons in the late 5th and early 6th centuries. He first appears in two early medieval historical sources, the Annales Cambriae and the Historia Brittonum, but these date to 300 years after he is supposed to have lived, and most historians who study the period do not consider him a historical figure.[2][3] His name also occurs in early Welsh poetic sources such as Y Gododdin.[4] The character developed through Welsh mythology, appearing either as a great warrior defending Britain from human and supernatural enemies or as a magical figure of folklore, sometimes associated with the Welsh otherworld Annwn. This is another video about Edward. Edward III (13 November 1312 - 21 June 1377), also known as Edward of Windsor before his accession, was King of England from January 1327 until his death in 1377. He is noted for his military success and for restoring royal authority after the disastrous and unorthodox reign of his father, Edward II. Edward III transformed the Kingdom of England into one of the most formidable military powers in Europe. His fifty-year reign is one of the longest in English history, and saw vital developments in legislation and government, in particular the evolution of the English Parliament, as well as the ravages of the Black Death. He outlived his eldest son, Edward the Black Prince, and was succeeded by his grandson, Richard II. I hope you enjoy it and don't forget to like and subscribe to the video for more.
