I reckon a relationship is more straight when it is more conforming with cultural norms. Heteronormativity, allonormativity, cis-normativity, monogamous normativity, even things like neuro-normativity and racial normativity. The dichotomy isn't straight vs gay, in my opinion, but straight vs queer, in every sense of both words

I understand the difference to be that pan is bi with no gender preference and bi is kind of an umbrella term, but apparently no one, not even people who identify as one or the other, uses that definition, and most people just pick which word sounds better or comes with a better flag 😂 when people ask I don't really try to explain what the difference is and focus more on explaining that it's actually fine for there to be two labels that may or may not mean pretty much the same thing and that that actually doesn't mean the lgbt community is "going too far" or "making stuff up" lol

I don't think masc and fem are opposite, I think they're their own things, so representing them as one axis is incorect, there are also a lot more other unrelated gender axes, that can be included, AND there's also gender variation over time, which must be accounted for in the mathematical model of gender. Therefore gender is a function in an N dimensional space, where one axis is time and all the other ones are genders.
