Junker HK 65 Engine at Maschinenmuseum Kiel Wik
Startup and running of the Junker HK 65 engine - opposed pistons engine designed by Junkers.
This engine was mostly used in small boats or for stationary use.
The film shows the cold start of this engine using a flame-stick which lights up the fuel after the first (manual) compression.
Explanation only in GERMAN - sorry - for engine start-up skip to 8:00 min +
0.00 - 5:30 min Explanation of the flame-stick principle
5:30 - 6:20 pre lubricating the engine
6:20 - 8:00 preparing the engine for final start (fuel/cooling) and safety
advice
8:00 - 10:50 starting the engine with the first manual compression and
running the engine till fuel-vent is closed.
Enjoy !

German U-Boot Diesel MWM RS 34 S running smoothly at Maschinenmuseum Kiel
Starting procedure and than smooth running of a U-Boot Diesel Engine (MWM RS 34 S) used in German Typ XXIII submarines and perviously as engines for electric generators on board of German battleships Bismark (ruffly 20 engines on board just for electric power generation!) ,Tirpitz and Gneisenau. 576 PS (HP) 6 Cylinder (18 L / Cylinder) 108 L capacity 0 - 2:39 prepairing for start 2:39 engine st...
Thank you
Hi sir I am ha generator operator I have 3 year experience mwm tcg2020 v20 and tcg2020 v12 8 mw power plant I need job in Germany has a generator operator if you need so I am also present
Was verzapfst du denn für Müll??
Tolles Video
A new version and better quality here ua-cam.com/video/zLfa43_1WH8/v-deo.html
Gotcha😎
I can see these men doing this in real life.....SSN 757 here, "Prepare to snorkle"
Wer sagt denn das Marmelade keine Kraft gibt ?
*Readies The Depth Charges*
Just incredible.. I work with machinery and have rebuilt diesel engines to hear that diesel running that smooth from 1940's !! German technology at its finest !
What H.P does this engine make? lovely machine
whos the 40 morons that dident like history unreal ! great to see that baby running its pretty loud to be in a u boat ...
The diesels were off when submerged then they ran on batteries.
o realy no shit man lol just being in the boat ON TOP THE WATER running them is still loud dam really dude your a rocket scientist arent you ?
Das boot
Are these direct drive ie. without reduction gears? It sounds like it's already running at propeller speed.
Starts at 2:40
Nice engine but we need subtitles in English don't think everybody knows German!!!!
brauchen solche motoren oelwechsel?
Purrs as smooth as a sewing machine.
"ALARM ALARM!!!!!!"
I could sleep to these sounds.... Machines run in the blood!
o yes brother i hear ya me to !!! they actually have them on youtube 10 hours of u boat engine running look it up
Great sound :)
Now to the future when we can hopefully keep them all sea worthy and most important keep her crew happy.
who taught this guy how to spell tho?
Actually its "Motoren-Werke Mannheim" (MWM)
Great tecnology
sehr schön erklärt :)
After all these years, well done.Let us put the past where it belongs.Hopefuly not forgoten by either side.It is just plain history now.Less we forget.
No you English like to forget when it does not affect you. We in Scotland have been fighting for you for 300 years and now we want our independence, you should help us or you will be fighting us next
This is just engineering, no need to attach WW2 to it.
Now lad . No need for any head buttin or SUCH THING ANY MORE. Umm I am about equal parts Scottish, Irish and German. Ya know what, , , , I am a Canadian who's father came home after 3 years in yer part of the world needin a bit of help ! C'mon now, , , , be nice !
I served my own 4 years out of Halifax aboard the Protector and Provider with distinction !
I am 192 % in favor of ANY one person or peoples needing separation It has to be done so carefully. Good luck friend ! Hell man, , ,C'mon over here eh !
If u need diesel engine mechanic contact me. pls.
BRAVO SUNA O SONERIE PT TESTE
Really amazing engine!! But, before this video I thought submarine's engines must be silent ones, and this seams very loud! Maybe part of the sound is supressed by sub's hull!! :D
+Tiago Gobbi Switched to electrical power for stealth
rampking1 What?! But in WWII they are not powered by diesel?? I know after is switched to electrical but in the WWII they are not combustible powered?!! :/
+Tiago Gobbi they had both, diesel and electrical engines. they used the diesel over water and to load the batteries, which powered the electrical engines for underwater
+Tiago Gobbi DIesel electric man. Diesel electric.
They ran on batteries when submerged. The diesels need air to run.
who made these engiens ? dimler benz or some one like that?
+joseph shanley MAN build those
MWM not MAN
This particular engine is made by MWM. It has no relation to either MAN or Germaniawerft (Krupp)
MWM= Mannheimer Maschienen Werke
No wonder it took the whole world almost 6 years to defeat just one small country. These Germans are (were?) really something
+itsadeadmansparty Frank Whittle was a Brit.
The Nazi made the world's first jet fighter, the Me-262. Albeit too little too late. when the Brits' most advanced WWII fighter was still the Spitfire.
+itsadeamansparty You ever played Silent Hunter IV U-Boat Missions? A rather realistic simulator of WWI naval warfare, specifically submarines.
The first jet fighter was the ME-163 :-)
Merkonta Me 163 was an interceptor not a fighter, it was however the first and only production built rocket attack aircraft
Sound of nazi.
Merely the sound of a marine Diesel.
..written by an idiot.
Neonazi!?
All of the countries who had subs in WW2 had diesel engines inside them.
still running smoother than volkswagen diesel
And cleaner!
wieso tragen die jungs eigentlich BGA ?
Mechanical Music
Depth charge the fucker!
g2macs WIRFT WASSERBOMBEN!
fett
Wow, the present engineers are so confident with the antique working and running engine, they do not even wear safety eye-glass to protect them from loose items and or oil gas escaping. I would not do that even with some new machinery !!!
That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard
+Sm Foo rofl.. most stupid statement on youtube!!
bekomm grad Gänsehaut^^
