You need to get on The Fisherman. It is excellent. I also recommend The King in Yellow by Robert Chambers, which is considered proto-Lovecraft or proto-cosmic. A lot of the themes there influenced Lovecraft, actually, and its titular character actually got partially assimilated into the Cthulhu Mythos. I even drew on the King in Yellow for my story "The Dedication of the High Priestess," which to date is what I consider the best of my published work. Also, welcome back, dude.

Cosmic horror is probably the most terrifying subgenre, at least for me. But thanks to my dad, I fell in love with “Alien” from the films of the same name since kindergarten. Especially from the 4th one, in this film they are shown to be highly intelligent, adaptive, and depicted in their most vulnerable circumstances (the Queen and the neo-alien), that make you sympathize with them and even feel a wider range of emotions for them beyond fear. Also, UA-cam seems to have finally recommended an interesting channel to me. Ty for the video.

Enjoyed your review, guys! Reminded me of Siskel and Ebert days of yore. Love "The Bat" from '59......and yes, I too find the one particular thing about this film, is its coziness. The whole atmosphere of the house draws me in, in spite of the dangers that lurk in the shadows. Thank you for posting this up, as it makes for a taste of early Halloween fun-viewing!

Hi New subscriber here! While background effects can add to the experience, it's important to get the right balance. So often I find myself struggling to hear the narrator over what's supposed to be "background" music. Right balance is the key. Great voice you have for this!! Much luck!!

Funny, I found that banter to be a high-lite and funny. Thanks for the review - agree and would give about the same because it is not perfect, but a very good read - even though a can not define the neg. issues, except maybe that Koontz stereotypes are getting borrow and formulaic .. the gang member character the book started with, for example.
