When the knot was mentioned😂😂😅 I witnessed that when I was younger with some dogs and I never spoke about it 👀 How can I explain that the dogs were "stuck" 🫣😧😂😂
Do you read horror books? If so could you recommend me some. I read Home After Dark after one of your videos and it was really good!
Aw that makes me so happy, I’m so glad you liked it!! Yes, mostly thriller/ mysteries, but in the realm of horror. Here are some recommendations: What lies in the woods by Kate Alice Marshall Lock every door by Riley sager The sun down motel by Simone st James Daisy darker by Alice feeney Sharp objects by Gillian Flynn
Hi Caitlin, great video! Well, we definitely have the same taste in thrillers, which makes me want to watch more of your videos, which I will do. I’ve read, and loved, all of these, with the exception of two I have not read yet but plan to. And, I’m sure I’ll end up loving them, which are, Home Before Dark, and The Sundown Motel. Great job!! ❤❤. Plus, I super love your kitty 🐈 ❤.
Thank you so much, that is so sweet! I think you will love home before dark and sundown motel they are two of my FAVORITES, just good old fashioned ghosty fun. Omg thank you, my little star in the making 🐱

Just found your channel x
Welcome!! 🤗
Another booktuber, Raya, was raving about Just For The Summer and I ended up being convinced. I almost read it in one day but the power went out so I had to wait. It was so good, I absolutely adored Justin and his pre and post date surveys, his relationships with his siblings, and the development of his relationship with Emma and her love and care for his siblings was also so precious. I gave it a 5 star as well but the one thing I didn’t like was their text and phone conversations in the beginning. They were just written oddly to me where Emma was doing random things like grabbing nail polish, putting it down to do something else, grabbing it again. And there was another part where she was commenting on the sounds of the elevator in the hall which wasn’t important at all so all of that commentary during those conversations just felt like unnecessary filler, but not offensive enough to detract from how much I loved this book. And side story, a few days after I finished it, I think I had just returned it to the library and I was on the way home listening to Just Pretend by Bad Omens and I was thinking about how much it related to Justin and Emma. I almost started crying and had to change the song 😭
Same!!! I thought Justin was just the most silly/ sweet lovely book boyfriend. I love the way Abby Jimenez writes her male main characters. I also ate this up in one sitting, it was truly so good. What did you think about amber?
@@Caitlin_Reads I didn’t like Amber but in a she was well written way, like how it seemed like she was actually getting better only for Emma to find out that she wasn’t seeing a real therapist and had been hiding her from the rest of the family was so devastating. I was so angry for Emma when she learned that Amber had been casually hanging out with them while she left Emma to starve
The way I gasped out loud when she found that out. She is such a great villain! she was so well written, she definitely was struggling with her own demons so I wanted to give her grace, but when all of that came to light it was ultimately unforgivable
Do you like poetry?
I appreciate it, but I don’t often seek it out. What is your favorite poetry collection?
Pippen! Welcome back. Sounds like quite the busy summer.
Thank you!! It has been, but it’s been a good time & I’m really looking forward to slowing down ❤️
Have you read First Lie Wins?
No I haven’t! Is it good?
Ive already seen a couple reviews on this but i just wanna say I like monsters, thats kinda my thing, but it sort of leans into some zoophilic territory when the narrator goes really in depth on the more animalistic features. I dont mean the human and animal combination, i mean focusing so much on the animal half that it just sounds like a description of the Mr Hands video
This should be labelled as a horror book rather than a dark romance 💀
Truly!
Men would rather eat minotaur semen than go to therapy.
Thanks for keeping the book icon on the screen while you’re discussing it! So many booktubers just flash a quick glimpse of the book and then spend an extended time talking about it.
You're so welcome!
You seem to be so nice! I started watching this with no expectation, but the insane book and your voice caught my attention
Aw thank you!! Thanks for watching my silly little book review 🤗
My rating was 1: Check and Mate 2: Love on the Brain 3: The Love Hypothesis I haven’t read the others yet
Nice!! You should pick up love theoretically next :)
@@Caitlin_Reads I will thx :)
I tried this book and returned it after 20 pages cuz it was downright boring.
Yes it dragged on FOREVER
Congratulations on getting married!
Thank you so much!! :D
This is something a 13 year old edge-lord who took time away from a Call of Duty lobby would write on Wattpad. Also my ADHD thanks you for including pictures.
Lmaooo & no prob!!
I enjoyed The House Across The Lake but agree with you about the twist coming out of left field. It was not believable - even with the minor foreshadowing from Eli - but I kept reading because I liked the storyline and characters. I also immediately thought of Behind Her Eyes and Watch The Woman in the Window. Netflix developed those books already AND have plans to develop this novel… Netflix seems to be fond of these narratives lol
Hopefully the plot twist won’t deter you from reading more from Riley Sager- I do feel like he’s an excellent writer and builds suspense well. He doesn’t rely heavily on supernatural twists in his other books. Yes!! Netflix is capitalizing the hell off of these mystery thrillers lol
Just found you. I love that you are doing some different books. So many booktubers do the same ones. Congrats on your growth and I'll be watching for more to come.
Thanks Adrienne!! :)
Who the fuck allowed people like colleen hoover and penelope douglas to write books
Why do these women keep writing most women's nightmares as romance and who the fuck dreams of being controlled, abused and raped
theres a waitlist for this book at my library. i unironically want to read it. 😂
I unironically hope you enjoy it!!
I've got to stop going "I'm sure it can't be THAT bad, it's just another cringy guilty pleasure romance" because I've yet to not be proven wrong ☠️
Same but I can’t stop getting back up on that horse 🤠 💀 yeehaw!
In my opinion you look like Sydney Sweeney haha
That is the best compliment in the world 😭 thx u!!
This the first time I ever heard of monster smut what on earth😭😭
You’re so clever I love you lol!!! Also not your fusing your eyelashes without missing a beat. Good book, great look
Angel!! 😇 thank you so much. Also thanks i did stab myaelf in the eye during the mascara section tho lmao
Yo, I hope this isn't weird, but I usually hate these types of rant/review videos, but your voice just makes it so easy to just keep watching...? So, ya. Thanks for not being high-strung and negative and angry-rant-y at the beginning lmao
Aww thank you so much!! That’s so sweet and I appreciate the feedback!!
I could understand if it was a guy with like big horns, bull legs and a lot of body hair, but a cow head????? The line has been drawn
I will never be able to look another cow in the eye AGAIN
I felt like throwing up at the descriptions, but it's actually a little refreshing that they communicate well, actually like each other, and that it's fully consensual? booktok/stagram has ruined me
The bar is low!! Hahah but you’re right, they did communicate well and he was not a problematic love interest at all
bestie if you make this a series, i’m sat. i would love to see this type of video for the rest of the series or any other book for that matter
I might reread credence and do one on that dumpster fire of a book 🙊
this book is actually crazy. especially Damon. his character is VILE and it’s so surprising the sheer number of fangirls i’ve seen on tiktok.
It’s unbelievable!!!
Well this was a fun video, sorry you has those bad reactions. But then again who wouldn't recoil in disgust.
Haha it was all good fun! Thanks!
hahhahah nice review, girl can you please tell me your makeup steps you looked wonders babe <3<3<3
Thank you so much!! I put the products in the info section in the order that I used them! I hope that helps :)
why is this author so popular i swear ive seen people i know read her books (who are definitely not 18) and rave about how romantic it was (everything ive seen from her is quite the opposite)
I think because they always write taboo romances, but both books I’ve read are so problematic!
mother I ~hate~ this book for you, but omg even your bareass face is so pretty. book is -11/10 for me, gagged in all the wrong ways, 20 stellar-mass black holes out of 5 stars but you salvaged the vid with your commentary (and your face, let’s be real here)
Hahaha love that you love this book!! I feel like it has such a cult following. Thank you angel, you’re so sweet :))
definitely watching you're video is batter then reading the Actual book
Thank you!! :)
Its so hard to focus on the makeup while hearing the weirdest shit 😭 this is such a weird combo and i can't say i hate it
Lol I’m not going to lie it was hard to multitask doing it too 😂
Came for the book, stayed for the look! What a wild ride!!
Also, 24 oz?!
24 OUNCES 💀
You have a knack for these book walk-throughs. Still recovering from the Corrupt recap. I also did not think there would be talk about coffee shops in this book.
Thank you so much!!! They’re honestly my favorite kind of video to make! Yes it was kind of funny- the non sexual scenes read like a cozy fantasy
just found your channel and i love it!! can't wait to watch the rest of your videos 💝
Yay!! Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here!
I saw a Tiktok that said CM Nascosta can’t actually visualize the characters they write. I think that’s so funny and I’ve been kind of obsessed with them since
Wait that’s so funny, they are so descriptive!! Even the non-Minotaur side characters. Thank you for telling me this I love it
I first heard of this book from SarahwithoutanH on here so I knew this video was going to be wild🤣🤣🤣
I couldn’t not see what all the fuss was about! 😂
The whole book is crazy from start to finish
Do you like Linwood Barclay's books? I love his books they always feel like watching two trains almost colliding but deviates in the last minute with multiple narratives of the good guy and the bad guy
Ive never read his books, but that sounds amazing! I will definitely put him on my TBR. Which of his is your favorite?
6:38 middle of the night is my first novel of this author and while it was anticlimactic, it was such a heartbreaking book for me. Especially how Billy dies and is just dumped was so so sad. He seemed like such a sweet misunderstood boy. But yeah the book had so many good elements like the camera, the jealous outsider boy who wants to be the best friend, the cult thing, johnny and ragesh . Like he had the ingredients but he didn't use it lol
Turns out I was wrong upon completing the video. I loved lock every door and dnf the only one left it just felt very boring to me.
Yes! I feel like middle of the night was definitely his saddest book. On paper it has so many interesting ideas I just didn’t love how it was tied together in the end. Nobody wins there. And I wish a few of the plot devices you listed were explored more! But it’s not bad by any means- I really like Riley sager books as a rule. Ugh lock every door was so good 💕
Oh my goodness you guys are so pretty! Very down for the review and the cooking!
Thank you so much!! We’re going to try and do another one of these soon :)
There's such a thing as a smut book club?
Yes!! Me and my favorite 12 girlies make power points and do fan castings and drink wine while our husbands go golfing together and wish they were as iconic as us ❤️
@@Caitlin_Reads PowerPoint and wine? Lol. That sounds terrible.
Agree with your thoughts on Middle of the Night. It was my most anticipated read of 2024 but I found it pretty boring. I didn’t like any of the characters and the plot (in theory) should’ve been super interesting, but I don’t think he did it as well as he could have. I love watching these Riley Sager ranking videos because everyone’s are SO different!! House Across the Lake is one of my top by him (Lock Every Door being my #1) and The Last Time I Lied is my least favorite! Also, it’s SO funny because I also went to summer camp in Virginia and my councilors told that same story!!!
Wait lmaoooo I love that- did it scare the hell out of you too? That’s such a core memory for me. I truly feel like Riley Sager is so polarizing. There’s no way to objectively say what his best one is. Love that you love lock every door too, that one was so great IMO
@@Caitlin_Reads It did!! The one that always got me the most is the story where the girl and her dog go to bed, then the girl reaches her hand down and the dog licks it. Then she gets up to go to the bathroom, finds her dog in the bathroom, and has no idea what/who licked her. Another classic summer camp story, but scared me so bad I couldn’t sleep!
Same!!! I think we’ve been living the same life
The craziest part of this book to me remains the fact they went NO LUBE WHILE DOING DOUBLE???!
INSANE
I love your reviews so much!! Before I would scroll through good reads but couldn’t get a feel for books. You’re so fun to listen to
Thank you angel!!! 😇
